@Deutscheland1470 Well, gravity doesn't have much of an effect on genetic material it turns out, i for one would not watch a movie with something that silly in it :f
@GronTheMighty well giant spiders are awesome... and i am no five year old, i know gravity doesnt affect genetic material. hollywood is never that great with science. like how explosions are exaggerated all the time
walkwithears, cameras in space do not fucntion as well as on earth. In addition, a HQ camera would have to withstand G-forces when leaving the earth's atmosphere. The cameras in this video were probably designed for reliability, robustness, and long-term use, not high quality. Besides, when the video is sent back to earth, some quality will probably be lost anyway. Nonetheless this is an entertaining and intersesting experiment, I seem to like it as much as everyone else! :D
I think this experiment is much more vital than feeding people for free, or providing educational materials for idiot children who don't give a flying duck.
@zoltar5282 that's because NASA & the international space programs are complete jokes designed to hush the truth about space and divert atttention, the same reason why they haven't gone to Mars.
@Rocky1990 You think that's why they don't travel to Mars? You know the travel time to Mars is 4 years, you try sacrificing your own life to go to Mars, because it's unlikely you will ever come home from there.
Don't talk shit about things you don't know anything about.
@finthallon The closest distance between Earth and mars is 34 million miles and a space craft traveling about 17,000 miles/hr takes 83 days to get to Mars. In reality the estimated time for reaching Mars is 5 months.
@Ivanspaintingdotcom Not really, the real estimate is 6 months, but the real problems are radiation, the fact that the astronaut will have to stay on Mars for about 1 and a half year, and the risks of going there and eventually not being able to come back.
@richardhill12 I'd rather it gets spent on this than baby squirting crack heads and illegal immigrants. Not to mention bailing out corrupt corporations etc. get a clue, jack-hole.
they should make an experiment on how the accelerometer of an iphone/ipod touch works up there... (i usually have a lot of lonely time to think stupid things which makes sense..:) )
if anyone here has problems go to the NASA website. go to search tag and list radiation as word search. a huge batch of articles created by NASA describe the problems with space radiation to the astronauts with current shielding at 30%, meaning they are exposed to the remainder 70% of space radiation. they discuss nano technology and medicines that may repair damaged cells. NASA lacks shielding technology which should be researched and understood for the viability of living organisms in space.
yeah btw if you had done some research before saying something like this you would have known that britsish scientists have already created a mini-magnetosphere (magnetic field) and plan to use it on missions to the moon and mars in the future
sure but the word "plan" baffles me, and if they "plan" to do anything they should "plan" to remove the radiation articles from the NASA website and they should "plan" to implement this technology to preserve the organs of the astronauts. i hear the solar flare activity in the sun is getting worse but hey you didn't hear that statement from me
yeah thats if the insects dont die of radiation from space, can someone say solar flares or cosmic rays. the space station and shuttle have inadequate protection from radiation in space. if you can not protect the astronauts and insects properly why even bother wouldn't that add an additional variable to the equation. its so simple do not stand in front of the microwave when the microwave is on and do not expect to have any radiated organism on zero gravity to perform properly
BORING!

Of course if they are going to go through all of that, you'd think they have a better camera on the international space station!! lolwot?
