Is it not possible that we live in a universe about which change extends outward and inward to encompass its behaviors?. In other words: there are no universal laws, only local ordnances...
@atrios28 I don't think so. If everything is local, I wouldn't have a clue as to how to proceed to comprehend the rules. The "laws" of nature seem to integrate into a unified system in which every aspect is dependent on every other. Change one, and all are invalidated. They "hang" together very well. Still, I'm open to suggestions until such time as everything is known. That's a ways off though ;o)
@Bantokfomoki Or to take your analogy a step further, all trees in all forests on all life-harboring planets orbiting main-sequence stars make a sound when they fall
Excellent physics put to a visionary purpose. The Ph in Physics is for Experimental Phailure! Only a physicist who puts his theories to the test by experiment is worth anything. But what the deal with UFOs? where is your evidence for these things, it seems to me pretty sketchy?
@TheRoadsidePicnic I don't think the evidence for UFOs is at all sketchy. Rather, it's extremely robust when you only look at the most credible witness cases. It's essential to note that no amount of buffoonery can reflect on the credibility of the better witnesses. They are simply impartial witnesses to things they can't explain.
With that said, I still hold open the possibility that it's all a big 'nothing' ... but that possibility seems more remote with every credible sighting.
