Ok lets take a loook about this pretty toy, an increible performance european hatchback style french car, just like a die cast model take it from a blister, perfect! theres no more cars like this, its a really shame! R5 Turbo For ever!
I always wanted a R5GTT<3 lovely 1.4 turbo'ed engine its just a pitty the idiots that drive them ruin it because they ramp the crap outta it and don't let the turbo cool down.... A friend of mine had a GTT that done 1/4 mile in under 13 secs...
Guys....its a renault 5...1.4 turbo...its gonna get a little bit warm....any way the fan was running before he made it sing.Comment on how nice it sounds or how nice it looks
I don't want to be a hater or sound like some grandpa, but you reved it a few times and the radiator fan kicked in.You have a oil problem, the motor is overheating so easy.
Not really, it's probably just because it's been ticking over for a while at standstill, so the fan is bound to kick in at some point. Also, why would has fan kicking in be an oil problem?
well i dont know if the car has a problem or not but.
if he did have a oil problem wouldn't that cause the engine to heat up pushing the thermostat to make water go into radiator causing the clutch beads (or what ever you want to call them) to expand and making the fan rotate
but if the car has a electric fan then i have no idea lol
Yeh, the car has an electric fan which works off the water temp. It's to be expected for a fan to kick in when the car is at a standstill, especially if you rev it, because you're building heat into the engine. The fan is just doing its job :)

oil dosen't cause your engine to overheat. lack of "water" NOT COOLANT because water is the heat transfer and coolant just lubricates the water pump and keeps the cooling system rust free.
another senario that would cause your engine to overheat would be a malfunctioning radiator fan or lazy/stuck thermostat will cause your engine to over heat. Although unburnt fuel to your cat is the #1 cause of murdering your cat converter, oil over time can do the same thing. lack of oil would cause moving parts in your engine to seize, but not make it overheat.
very nice car!

Nice car! Keep it as long as possible! It's a classic! Only a few old cars are looking modern even today. The R5 is definitely such a car!
