Just Think. First time all these lucky bastards ever heard this song. Its a special moment in time for all them!!!! Love you guys and fuck who cares when he started using. He did and that's the tragedy!!!!!
@Junkkhhead That's right, Dirt the album wasn't released until September the following year. This is the only song I've heard from the album with different lyrics. Wish they would've played Lying Season at a show, that was a great song that unfortunately was left off of Dirt
@ItsTimeIDisappear09 yeah does anyone have any idea when he may have started? Not that it matters but I'm guessing early 1991 somewhere but who really knows..
I think it was around this time, when they really started to get big. Seems like he was completely sober at this show and I think that's why he sounded so good. Just look at the Rotterdam show from 93 and you'll see when Layne really started getting messed up.
Yeah because these songs from Dirt are about his heroin addiction.. and this was before Dirt was released so he had to have started before this time... its sad..
Yeah cuz this song is one of the songs about his addiction from the Dirt... so he had to have been using before cuz he had to have written the lyrics before. Or maybe this was after his first stint in rehab (thats where Angry Chair came from) so maybe he was clean..MAYBE. but yea he was definetly using at this time or had already tried it. Its really too bad...
@AICMasta Well the song 'Real Thing' was wrote by Layne and its about heroin addiction. My point being that it was first recorded in 89 (as a demo) so who knows. Maybe he did it off and on.
They recently tore this venue down. Back in the early 90's it was a cool place but over the years it was nothing more than a dance music bar. I believe they were shut down for tax evasion.
Yeah, this was a great show. I saw Primus play here, and saw Primus play at Rick's, too. Crazy...Frizzle Fry years...It was a cheezy ass spot in 93 - on....
awsome man, were you there for this, I mean did you shoot this vid? I live in Lansing, was still in school when this was shot... totally agree when ppl say there's no music like this anymore...RIP Layne
No I wasn't there, I was 6 years old and in Connecticut at the time :) Just happened to come across these online and had to post them. I've seen a lot of AIC concert vids and I'd have to say that they were at their best here.
what i love is that i cant even classify AIC into a genre. all i can say is that they changed my fucking life period. Its just bursting with badassery. every track gives you that feeling. This song is so fucking bad ass fuck. Next time i get laid this will be on in the background , if this doesnt turn her into a freak what will? il give you the feedback soon hha
Its fluff because big music wouldn't promote something like this anymore. Too worried about bad press or the act not staying together long enough to make money.
Ya, that the face that the whole grunge seen was seen as very marketable at the time. With the success of Nirvana in late 91, all the labels were out looking for the next big grunge/alternative band.
one of the darkest songs ever written also one of the most beautiful

Both Layne and his girlfriend Demri started getting heavy into H around this time. It had a lot to do with the money they made, and other factors.
WeDieYoung1083 2 years ago
seems like i read somewhere that he was using heroin back when the band first started, but i'm not sure where i read that.

One who doesn't care is one who shouldn't be.
Is it just me or have great lyrics like that disappeared from music. Maybe i'm just not hearing the good stuff anymore. Man I miss Layne
MacDonald1 3 years ago 8
Right on, all the stuff now is just fluff, there's no meaning behind music today.
GotMeWrong1984 3 years ago

You know what this wasn't one of my AIC favorites but like the rest the more you listen the better they get...Anyone else notice that too?
AICMasta 3 years ago 4
Definitely, dude. Agree 100%. Seems like each time I throw in a different CD or find a video like this one I've got a different favorite.
It probably has something to do with how I am feeling in life, I suppose...
