Ebine sure gives me the creeps, the type that's the result of overfriendliness.

What kind of heart is the chef keeping? Looking at the grave of what had probably been a customer, I can't tell what heart could be the cause.

And when Ahiru envisioned herself as a duck-dish, I realized I had nearly forgotten she was a duck. As well as how similiar this is to 'Hansel and Gretel'.

Ahiru herself explains it: 2 children (Ahiru and Mute) get lost in the woods (like they were about now) when they come upon this house made of "candy" (Ebine's restaurant). A woman living there (Ebine) generously feeds the children(She's cooking for them) , but really, she only plans to fatten them up (Considering she's feeding them TWO COURSES) so she can eat them later (So far as Ahiru suspects).

And that's just where she stopped.
