well i mean you are biracial but you are SUPER light skin so i dont think you can represent us darker shades lol no offense intended. Im biracial but lean more on the darker side and have never sunburned a day in my life!
White people and people mixed with the under developed white devil race gets burned. Fire will rain from heaven (means nothing but the actual sun will remove these evil brings from this place. They are nothing but chaos......
@Shadowsinskull I dare you to go to Palm Springs in the summer and lay in the 50 degree sun (122F) sun for 14 hours straight. Even YOU Will be severely burned.
My friend did once. I'm black too and we were out at the beach. I didn't get burnt like she did but I turned a couple shades darker. I got a real good tan, not that I wanted to.
My girlfriend and i are both dark skinned. She is the typical woman complain about the heat and hide from the sun. We went to the beach to tan, a week later, she started peel but no pain or blister. Whereas i never had sunburns because im always working or staying occupied outside.
If you are the type that stay inside the house or live in cool climate which has less sun then yes, it will happen because of raw skin which the melanocyte can't react strongly due to low amount of vitamin d. The sun uvb is a source of vitamin d which strengthen skin, bones and blood. Dark ppl are designed for the sun. Know the balance of nutrients to your body. The new layer of skin reacts better when always outside
Well, I'm straight up African and much darker than her, I'm more milk chocolate and I had a sunburn. Skin looked plum red, not cute :P But that's b/c I was out for 2 hrs. In the hot ass heat! However, on avg we tan very easily but skin goes back to reg. Colour. I guess were recover fast?
I am white so i say something that offends I don't mean it. It can be hard to be PC but my mama told me once that she saw someone with daker skin with sunburn. It left the impression with her that it is serious when ones with darkers skin get burned. The person was so sick..not just skin pain. My dad is as white as can be and he once ended up looking like a lobster..no joke or pun he was bright red. anyway it was back in the 50's and 60's when my mom was growing up so idk ifs Global Warming
It depends on the amount of melanin in the skin. A dark black will NOT burn. where as a light black still can. A dark black person has a lower chance of getting skin cancer at tropical latitudes than anyone else. However at higher latitudes they run a risk of various organ cancers due to a lack of vitamin D, which their skin is designed to block. Source: Summer biology class, about 3 weeks ago.
A full-blooded African - and there is some controversy about being full-blooded - can not get any sort of burn from the Sun.
That is to say that if you are Black and you get a sunburn then you are not fully Black, chances are you are also lighter in skintone than a no African-American.
if your skin itches or you get big patches of dry skin that is a sunburn. We dont turn red but it does peel. I am medium brown (I dont pass the paper bag test) and am currently recovering from one on my face and shoulders. Trust me, it happens. Our melanin doesnt completely protect us. We should still use sunscreen. Lucky you if youve never experienced this.
@McDogginified lol yea your skin does start to itch if you stay out in the sun to long expecially when you sitting in one spot for a period of time.....
@eatsleepcd5 Well your probally black but you have really really light skin. Because I'm dark and when I was in Iraq the sun didn't bother me one bit except make me darker. But thats it though.
@McDogginified Well your probally black but you have really really light skin. Because I'm dark and when I was in Iraq the sun didn't bother me one bit except make me darker. But thats it though.
@eatsleepcd5 apparently SHE does. my friend got sunburn and her skin started to peel. my sister who is dark skin got sunburn once. WE DO GET SUNBURNT!
I'm darker than you and I got sun BLISTERS.. It wasn't a sunburn though because it wasn't red and didn't hurt. I was just surprised.. Now I'm wondering when these blisters on my shoulders will go away because it is not cute.
@cheeseymanifacation that's not true. Google skin cancer rates by Race/Ethnicity. Blacks are dead last.
CDC: "White people had the highest incidence rate for melanoma of the skin. Hispanic and American Indian/Alaska Native people had the second highest rate of getting melanoma of the skin, followed by Asian/Pacific Islander and black people."
regarding possible global warming: Im getting a tan, in april, in england! Im hoping to get spend many hours in the sun this year (sunlight is good for me: If i build up slowly i wont have problems with sun burn).
Oh and I forgot to mention. My sister and I (dark skinned) fell ASLEEP in the sun for at least 3 hours woke up fine and probably had strong healthy bones that whole summer.
@wumba94 Me too, I have been in the sun and it didn't affect me and I play ball. See if you stay out in the sun Vitamin D sets in and that's why you were strong like that. The less Vitamin D the weaker you are. So imagine those Caucasians that don't have Melanin. I can say I am glad to be African descent and dark!
Black people don't sunburn light skin maybe but most blacks don't. I know. Last summer my family and I went to Ohio in the middle of July when the sun was beaming. NO SUNBURN NO SUNSCREEN. God gave me dark skin for a reason and I NEED IT MORE THAN ANYONE. I was not made to have lighter skin.
Darker skinn just takes longer to sunburn. Pigment duh. Lighter skin will sunburn way faster like a crackers because we arent blessed with pigment that helps protect us from the sun. Pease ...chocolate people i hate you :( no fare. Mixing with white people = skin cancer in the next generation and after that worse.
@creepycody Yes. Why? Let's look at Africa. Sure some got a sunburn but I BET the majority didn't. Why? Because they were dark and MADE to have skin that absorbs the sun and protects their body.
@creepycody If it doesn't care I would imagine Africa back then and now would have a high pop of skin cancer. Look, protecting someone who is brown to very dark from the sun is not good. It's how we were made. The only parts that are more prone to skin cancer are our palms and bottoms of feet which most blacks don't expose. I don''t know about light skin to fair people. But I don't need suntan lotion with chemicals that absorb into my skin. My sun looks way better in the sun and I feel better.
@wumba94 Due to us being darker the sun provides Vitamin D for our Melancytes, that is exactly why I would never mix with Caucasain people and produce a child. I will stay with a sista and I love my chocolate sistas, Melanin is important. If you are very fair and mixed race the sun is not your friend either. Put it this way when yuo step outside the realm of balance, chaos approaches and this is the result.
I only get a sun tan if it's summer time and I stand directly out in the sun light for hours. but no I don't sun burn lol but i will sweat my ass off though...
I'm not even gonna watch this vid. All i see in the pic is some light skin girl claiming to be black. Black africans do not get sunburn. I'm dark skin, i can stand on the beach all day and not get sunburn.
We damn sure don't get sunburnt. You must not have lotioned up enough and your skin dried out. It happened to me one time, shit hurt like hell. Stay moist! lol.
YALL SOME IGNORANT ASS BLACK PEOPLE TO BELIEVE THAT BLACK PEOPLE GET SUN BURN. YALL BLACKS THAT THINK THIS, IS JUST BRAIN WASHED BY THE WESTERN WORLD, BY ONE OF THE NOTION THAT, ALL MAN WERE CREATED EQUALLY, BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BLACKS NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THEIR BODIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this video would be more sensible and understandable if it were a very dark black person who is from africa,,because u swear im african pure and ive never been sunburned and i can stay outside for 8 hours straight without sunburns
so dark skinned black people can't get sun burned right? i consider myself dark skinned and a lil light cuz i tan and my cheeks flush, but i have never gotten sun burned before. im like a golden brown tone
i have sunburn right now an im black...............light skin. i got a deep ass tan first then hrs later it started to itch an then burn like hell. i dnt turn red tho. i take a cold shower an use less soap then after i put hydrocortosone an baby powder for extra aloe on. it takes us longer to get it it toke me over an hr in the sun to get it.
I'm black and i've never in my 17 years of being out in the sun recieved anything near a sun burn, you look half white, that's probably where you got it from ;/
Loose the term people of color. First of all, every person on Earth, except the Hollow Man, is a person of color, otherwise we'd be transparent. And, if you want to get technical, then white people are actually people of color, since white is the combination of all colors, and black is the combination of all pigments.
@besmart78 no am not!!! am ugandan, east african!!! but live in sweden so more than half the year am not in the sun... which makes my skin sensitive to the sun.
@qqq1011 sweden dam your really up north and probably your light but i guess u dont have the same genes most black people have btw which tribe are u from
@besmart78 am of the banganda people. am not light at all just normal african color and in the summer my skin gets really dark( likeblack, black ,and when i go to africa am out all day in the sun, nothing happens. me getting sunburn is not something that happens all the time it once happened when i wet swimming at a beach all day 10 -17 in 34°C, before that i thought it was dum for me to to wear sunscreen. dont miss understand black people dont sunburn, but its not impossible.
@ram308 thats true i am full100% african from ghana who happens to be from the ewe tribe and when i went to ghana i never once got sun burned and i stayed outside for many hours the only thing i got was a tan and sweat
i have never been sunburnt, those blacks who claim to get sun burnt i wonder what kinds of chemicals you put on your faces....what kind of soaps do you use. Dont automatically assume you have sun burn. Some people use lotions that contain oil and the shit cooked their face..thats not sun burn thats yo ass cookin. If your a light complexion then it may be that your skin makeup is closer to that of a white person. I have never heard of a brown or darker person getting sun burned in my surroundings
@9Sankofa9 one more thing...if you take a chicken and rub some oil on it and put it in a frying pan.....the skin begins to dry out and become hard and crispy.....its called frying......hmmmmm or is it a sunburn....get my point. I wonder if they're taking fishing boats into the jungles of africa looking for tribes to give them some sun tan lotion...lol something to think about......ohhhh nooooo the American sun is different from the African sun, that's what it is.....silly me
yup we really do get sunburn. i really didnt no either until i jus got bck from jacksonville beach. n it may sound gross but my skin is peeling n it weird. wat do i do?
the fact that you were in water didn't help. the water on your skin magnifies the sun rays. its the same reason you don't water your plants durring mid day in the summer. if you ever noticed you'll see burn marks where the water dryed. it kind of like that experiment that you do with the ant and a magnifing glass. Black ppl do sun burn just not as esaily as other.
@greg1809 Yes some of us do get sun burned....redness of the skin and peeling. You're talking about sun tan. We don't have to tan because we are already have have some color in our skin, we just become darker. The lighter in complexion you are increases the probability that you will be sun burnt.
When I got sunburned for laying on the beach for 2.5 hours I was shocked that I got sunburned. My skin was reddish and burning. I had flaky skin on my forehead, chest, arms, legs. I was sick when I got home, had to lay down. After this happened to me I said...some one lied when they said Black people don't get sunburned. I thought I was safe because I was Black. Please people wear sunblock regardless of your complexion.
Your stupid, we don't get sunburn. My cousin is from Africa and if you asked him, does he get sunburn..he would laugh in your face. Your just trying fit in.
I'm white, and I know a few black people from different countries/continents: Africa, South America, Asia, places like that. And they all get sunburned eventually. So they don't sunburn as easy as others, so they can sit in the sun for 8 friggen hours and get a small sunburn. And even if your a teen and you don't get sunburned in 2 hours, you will eventually. Black people CAN get sunburned. And no I'm not being racist, just stating a fact. If you think I'm being racist, then your a dumbass
global worming hasnt been proven to be a 100% fact its possibley from the atmosphere and carbon nioxid or the sun's radiation, witch the sun was predicited to expload within a nother 100,000,000 years so it has nothing to do with it sence its not proven to what it actuly is(this is completly what i think, probly is correct in most cases) i could say more about it but it becomes too technical for some others.
It's not global warming, it's the laws of physics. You admit to not reapplying the sunscreen and you're complaining that you got sunburnt? I believe you've missed the point there...
@chevshade She didn't miss the point. Black people have been told for years that we don't get sunburnt because we have darker skin. Not everyone is as smart as you to realize that the fairer the skin complexion the higher your chances of getting sunburnt. I have even noticed that some white people have different skin complexions. I agree wear sunblock. I learned my lesson too.
i remeber when i told my friend that i was tanning and getting sunburned in the sun at our summer camp, she thought black people couldnt get tanned or sunurned. and i was shocked that she thought that. she was 9 and i was 11. but still she didnt know and i was like "?" lol.
It's not rather or not your african american that determines if you can or can't sunburn. It mainly depends on the amount of melanin you have in your skin.
Basically, the darker a person is, the longer it will take for them to sunburn.
I'm black and i used to be the color of the lady in this video but after spending three full days in the sun, now i'm about the color of Eddie Murphy. A few days later i noticed my skin peeling. It never crossed my mind that i could get sunburned simply because i'm black...it doesn't hurt or anything but now i'm definetely gonna start wearing sunscreen haha
well...some of us do and some of us don't. I have yet to experience sunburn (foreign concept to me lol) BUT I can turn reaaaally dark in the sun without the peeling and pain of course. Anyone is subject to sunburn I guess no matter what race
im originally from africa, now residing in australia. let me settle the issue once and for all. pure bloods, i mean 100% africans never get sunburnt even if they spend the whole day in the sun. PERIOD!
I agree i'm a south african with very dark skin, living in Australia as well and i never get sunburnt. The worst i've received is a mild sensation of heat on an overly exposed area of skin on a very hot aussie day. The woman in the video is light-skinned, almost white to me.
My dad is black and has dark brown skin. He got sunburned before. I'm about the same color as my dad. I've been in the sun for hours without sunscreen and I never got sunburned.
i always get sunburns, i start feeling my skin burning as soon as I walk out, so its only a few minutes till i have a tan, and it wont be long till my skin hurts. Yeah, I have a sunburn now actually. Went to Florida, lol, what was I thinking. Im black and puerto rican, and my friends and family are still amazed that its possible for that to happen to me. I always take cold showers when i have one, it really help numb it.
Some people think that black people don't get burned. Alot of blacks back in the day, would even tell whites that blacks don't burn because of the skin color. Ask your mom. She probably heard of it
Thank you!!! I hope you subscribe to me and check out my videos. I will subscribe to you let me know what you think. I did not get this message in my box I just happen to look here at the comments. I wish you much success too!!!
Girl, get some emu oil and Solarcaine (watch the eyes). When we were kids we were outside on a daily basis. Skin got used to the ultraviolet abuse. You just overdosed on the highest reflective surface possible, mami...H2O. And yes, even dark folks get sunburned. I saw the most beautiful shade of mahogany (dark brown and sunburn) on a brother at Venice Beach. That on top of a typical Hollywood sculpted body he was scrumptious!! Next time get the 70 SPF, I use it!
It's been a long while, but i've had two or three painful sunburns. I don't stay in the sun for long periods of time anymore. i'm a city girl who really loves air conditioning. but, yeah, it is a myth that black/mixed/naturally tan people don't burn. i hope it feels better soon!!

Loose the term people of color. First of all, every person on Earth, except the Hollow Man, is a person of color, otherwise we'd be transparent. And, if you want to get technical, then white people are actually people of color, since white is the combination of all colors, and black is the combination of all pigments.

@ram308 yeah we do but we still can get sunburn.... am african and it still happens to me !!!
qqq1011 1 year ago
@qqq1011 your african mix you probably have white in you thts y u can get burned
besmart78 1 year ago
@besmart78 no am not!!! am ugandan, east african!!! but live in sweden so more than half the year am not in the sun... which makes my skin sensitive to the sun.
qqq1011 1 year ago
@qqq1011 sweden dam your really up north and probably your light but i guess u dont have the same genes most black people have btw which tribe are u from
besmart78 1 year ago
@besmart78 am of the banganda people. am not light at all just normal african color and in the summer my skin gets really dark( likeblack, black ,and when i go to africa am out all day in the sun, nothing happens. me getting sunburn is not something that happens all the time it once happened when i wet swimming at a beach all day 10 -17 in 34°C, before that i thought it was dum for me to to wear sunscreen. dont miss understand black people dont sunburn, but its not impossible.
qqq1011 1 year ago
@qqq1011 ohhh okay i guess the water is wat makes it happen most blacks dont swim anyways
besmart78 1 year ago
@besmart78 hah a lol thats so true :)
qqq1011 1 year ago
@ram308 thats true i am full100% african from ghana who happens to be from the ewe tribe and when i went to ghana i never once got sun burned and i stayed outside for many hours the only thing i got was a tan and sweat
besmart78 1 year ago
i have never been sunburnt, those blacks who claim to get sun burnt i wonder what kinds of chemicals you put on your faces....what kind of soaps do you use.
9Sankofa9 1 year ago 3
@9Sankofa9 one more thing...if you take a chicken and rub some oil on it and put it in a frying pan.....the skin begins to dry out and become hard and crispy.....its called frying......hmmmmm or is it a sunburn....get my point. I wonder if they're taking fishing boats into the jungles of africa looking for tribes to give them some sun tan lotion...lol something to think about......ohhhh nooooo the American sun is different from the African sun, that's what it is.....silly me
9Sankofa9 1 year ago
yup we really do get sunburn. i really didnt no either until i jus got bck from jacksonville beach. n it may sound gross but my skin is peeling n it weird. wat do i do?
dizigirl478 1 year ago
your not even that black
ilovecheering5 1 year ago
the fact that you were in water didn't help. the water on your skin magnifies the sun rays. its the same reason you don't water your plants durring mid day in the summer. if you ever noticed you'll see burn marks where the water dryed. it kind of like that experiment that you do with the ant and a magnifing glass. Black ppl do sun burn just not as esaily as other.
71603oneday 1 year ago
To the confused dudes and gals out there
we can get sunburnt. the only thing is that.
if you want to stay in the sun very long. i
recommend sunblock. just on the safe side.
just that for some wierd reason i never get
sunburnt and i stay in the sun for 4 hrs
WIERD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
anyways just to be safe. use sunblock!

greg1809 2 years ago 9

DGreen951 2 years ago
I'm white, and I know a few black people from different countries/continents: Africa, South America, Asia, places like that. And they all get sunburned eventually. So they don't sunburn as easy as others, so they can sit in the sun for 8 friggen hours and get a small sunburn. And even if your a teen and you don't get sunburned in 2 hours, you will eventually. Black people CAN get sunburned. And no I'm not being racist, just stating a fact. If you think I'm being racist, then your a dumbass

OWRBtheo 2 years ago
global worming hasnt been proven to be a 100% fact its possibley from the atmosphere and carbon nioxid or the sun's radiation, witch the sun was predicited to expload within a nother 100,000,000 years so it has nothing to do with it sence its not proven to what it actuly is(this is completly what i think, probly is correct in most cases) i could say more about it but it becomes too technical for some others.
deathmet7 2 years ago
It's not global warming, it's the laws of physics. You admit to not reapplying the sunscreen and you're complaining that you got sunburnt? I believe you've missed the point there...
chevshade 2 years ago
@chevshade She didn't miss the point. Black people have been told for years that we don't get sunburnt because we have darker skin. Not everyone is as smart as you to realize that the fairer the skin complexion the higher your chances of getting sunburnt. I have even noticed that some white people have different skin complexions. I agree wear sunblock. I learned my lesson too.
BronzeSista 2 years ago 3
@BronzeSista sunblock is only for the white man. blacks have natural sun protection its called melanin.the sun will burn away the paleman

NayNaySoFly16 2 years ago
It's not rather or not your african american that determines if you can or can't sunburn. It mainly depends on the amount of melanin you have in your skin.
Basically, the darker a person is, the longer it will take for them to sunburn.
LittleBittea 2 years ago
I'm black and i used to be the color of the lady in this video but after spending three full days in the sun, now i'm about the color of Eddie Murphy. A few days later i noticed my skin peeling. It never crossed my mind that i could get sunburned simply because i'm black...it doesn't hurt or anything but now i'm definetely gonna start wearing sunscreen haha

Good Point. This girl actually thinks her skin. Can you believe that? A mixed girl who thinks her skin is white?
I'm glad she isn't making anymore stupid videos or at least she's taking a break.

I agree i'm a south african with very dark skin, living in Australia as well and i never get sunburnt. The worst i've received is a mild sensation of heat on an overly exposed area of skin on a very hot aussie day. The woman in the video is light-skinned, almost white to me.

I don't think dark skinned black people get sunburn or at leas it's not visible.
And why does the into of this video say "multiracial" people get sunburn too?
wth is that supposed to mean?
Mulattos are not black.
Therefor we would get tanned anyways.
Toya123 3 years ago
i always get sunburns, i start feeling my skin burning as soon as I walk out, so its only a few minutes till i have a tan, and it wont be long till my skin hurts. Yeah, I have a sunburn now actually. Went to Florida, lol, what was I thinking. Im black and puerto rican, and my friends and family are still amazed that its possible for that to happen to me. I always take cold showers when i have one, it really help numb it.
LilChyna619 3 years ago
My point exactly! Some people don't believe it. Don't try toothpaste like I did because it didn't really work!!!

Thank you I will try that next time hopefully it won't happen again.

It's been a long while, but i've had two or three painful sunburns. I don't stay in the sun for long periods of time anymore. i'm a city girl who really loves air conditioning. but, yeah, it is a myth that black/mixed/naturally tan people don't burn. i hope it feels better soon!!
