And what I really loved about this game was the little things... the atmosphere, the seemingly constant thunder and lightening storms, the dust storms in Broken Shores... the MUSIC... the music really added to the overall feel of the game...

Hearing the loudspeaker say "OMNI-TEK IS YOUR FRIEND", among other things... It just really was the best damn game I have ever been a part of.

I miss this game so much. I still go back and re-activate my account and play for a week or 2 at a time... but it always becomes apparent that there just isn't enough people online at any given time to really have consistent fun in the game... Some things they added really ruined the game.

It was the best game in the WORLD before Shadowlands was released... Standard Rubi-Ka with level 200 cap and Notum wars was the HEIGHT of the game. They should of built on that... not scrapped it for SL :/

I'm so glad that I still have the original Bink video on my hard drive. This is one of the best MMOG intros out there, if not THE best. I still get misty-eyed when I get to the "...I wonder if I'll ever be able to put it down" part, and she readies her weapon and turns, and BOOM! Huge Omni-Tek invasion.

I should play my old Clan Enforcer again. Teaming up with Soldiers and spamming Mongo nanos rocked. Too bad I joined soon after AO launched, so I can't play for free like the newbies can.

Anarchy Online is best game i played! i played 2 years!!! i got maximum lvl (220).... when i rich 220 i started twinking and i got twink up mega cool :D then all starts to go down road :( AO is boring if you dont play some instances... i sean all, i taserd all i whas almost best NT in game! and i got boared and i lost my will to play :(

I used to be such a hardcore Clanner back in the early days. AO was so much fun when a lot of people played. I still play and it's still good, but I wish Funcom would have kept delivering physical copies. Since going pure digital, poor AO has been largely forgotten. Oh, and OMNI TEK FOR THE WIN! :)

@dknight416 Max level is 220. You can go all the way up to 200 as a froob, or in other words free user. Paid players have many more priviledges and exciting adventures, but me being easily amused I really enjoyed the game as a froob.

I think it is worth putting time into without expansions, and many do that. You can always pay later on :)

This mmorpg is almost 10 years old, the graphics in this movie is not like IG, so if you want good graphics, go play something else : ) The gameplay is INCREDIBLE though, it's basicly the best mmorpg game out there - it's just hard. Try it if you have the patience and skill required!

On another note, i never saw any big scale battle between clans and omni-tek. In fact, i usually grouped with clans and had clan friends.

I'd suggest you actually read up on the story a bit. much of the stuff written from the omni-standpoint is designed to be obvious propaganda - which is the fun part which really ads to the feel of playing omni. If you are unable to read between the lines, I guess you should focus purely on issues related to game-mechanics ;)

Who you ask really have a lot to say when it comes to the question about who they all are.

They consider themselves freedom fighters as they're working towards a planet free of corp rule.

Omnis consider them terrorists, for us neutrals it depends..

It might be a bit addictive..

But I would suggest giving it a try if you have the time to invest.

Then try a free account and ask people for advice on how to play.

Start with an opifex martial artist or adventurer (solius perhaps?) as they're the easiest ones to get started with.

And I for one would advise you to try starting out as neutral as you'll get all the chat channels then. But honestly anything'll work and there's nice people on all sides ^^

It's possible to go to Borealis (currently omni occupied city populated by a neutral population, the omni troops are under order to leave claners there alone for now) and buy a clan or omni application form in the shops there to change side (although the application form don't work at higher levels)

its intro are release before date on game in June 27, 2001 i downloaded this Bink Video in July and have it some years on hd (Polish release date is in March 2002 so finally i been able to bought this game box version, after dreaming about this). now i try to convert to avi and put in youtube but you are first zschhh :)

You know, that was back in the days when a instruction leaflet for a game was in character..

So there could be omni propaganda on one page and clan propaganda on another.. and regular commercials as well.

Oh and a commercial for potential settlers offcourse, loved it, omni promised everything (with a fotnote canceling each promise)
