Went to a music store today. For my budget there was the Yamaha gig set with the amp and straps etc etc BUT it has no tremolo bar. It's pretty much the same as this with the tone and volume control etc but no tremolo bar. I should still get it right?

@Fenner1976 Well, if you have the money, definately go for the Ibanez SA. But if you're just starting out, don't go for something that expensive. I started out with an Ibanez Gio, then worked my way up to a Jackson RR3 and an Ibanez RG7321.

i got this for Christmas from my parents with a crappy cord and a kg110 10 watt amplifier the guitars is great sounds great feels great and looks great perfect for begginers and pros the wammy bar is awsome use it its made of chromium so its shiny and durable the amp works great with the guitar but the cord you get w/ the amp is horible i suggest the 20$ gold plated radio shack cord

Naah, they used to make 'm in their facility in Taiwan (excellent factory!) and now they're produced in Indonesia. They're great guitars; don't get too hung up on where it's made. I've played some at a local shop and they're great. Not just for beginners! I've got an older Pac 604w (same guitar, but better trem & locking tuners) and it's still my favorite over my high-end Ibanez, Fenders and Charvels.

@yohanzo I have the 112J and consider it equal to or better than other guitars in the $5-600 range that I've owned...I've NEVER had any detuning issues....and I've trem'd and bent the shit out of'em. I use EB Slinkys (10's) if that makes a difference....

I can assure you that its many times better than fender squier which comes under the same range, both tone (widest possible tone range using processor) and BUILT quality. My friend owns a music store where we gather for jamming once a week and they all prefer this to squier strat. Again, watch this watch?v=_mxLCjBbj4c, its the rgx variant of this guitar ( H-S-H). Or theres another video called pacifica capabilities.

Also, we have a pac with a vintage seymour duncan at the shop and it kicks ass with distortion for lead. Again, i havent seen such neat and long last fret jobs in any low end guitars. Still why do u say its terrible? :-/

@ace41r because the tone is waay to tinny, even though it is a single coil the sound the sound is not good quality. the aes is more expensive for a reason and is very well made, with much better pickups.

both the squier and pacifica are disgraceful.. but understandably because they are both prettty much the lowest of the bottom end guitars
