@SalamanderSk8 If you just upload the sim card (some computers have slots to insert your sim card), it can be. If you connect it to the computer, I don't think it can be.

I prefer to buy Panasonic SDR-H40 camera that can record on the hardrive and SD HC, has only a 42x zoom, but has a larger sensor size (1 / 6 ") so it's sharp . SDR-S26 has a small sensor size (1 / 8 ")

this camcorder isn't good,

because it has a very little chip 1/8 and 70x zoom with a little lens.

better choice:

panasonic sdr-s15 (chip= 1/6 10x zoom) so it is better combined

i just ordered this camera. i did not know it could video tape planets. fucking cool technology... I'm using it for video taping MMA fights. Panasonic has a cool technology showcase facility in Tokyo. I never have had problems with other Japanese camera companies. i washed a canon cam corder and they fixed it for me for free one time.

I just bought this Camcorder and it failed already in less than 2 weeks, zoom motor goes out and then out of focus, waited over 2 months for repairs only to have it returned not repaired, same problems. NEVER BUY ANYTHING PANASONIC THEY HAVE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPT EVER! GOOGLE THEM YOU WILL SEE! I'M JUST GOING TO BUY A NEW ONE AND SWAPPED OUT THE UNIT AND SWITCH S/N AND RETURN IT FOR A REFUND. FUCK THEM!

I just bought this and mine does the same thing. I was worried there was something wrong with the one I got but if other people have heard the same noise, I'm not as concerned although seems silly if it is designed like that.

Well even if he is right, there is a 1 year warrenty on it which should cover something like the zoom motor not functioning properly. Also, I have a Panasonic projection tv. I have had to call customer service a few times and they def aren't as bad as people make them out to be.

I import my video to my computer in video cam suite at 16:9 but then after converting into a mpeg it shows up warped as 4:3 in windows movie maker. Any way to keep the 16:9 Ratio??

I think you will have to alter the settings in windows movie maker to make the output 16:9. Hth..

I would try the camera in Manual settings not Auto but I don't think this camera is made for low light conditions.

I just used the Panasonic software to change the Mod file to an Mpeg2 file and then it can be edited in windows movie maker and/or uploaded to Youtube....

You have to set the high quality up from the camcorder itself, menu driven. Have a read through the manual. Hope that helps..

You can play around with the zoom settings and cap them at 70 x Optical or override them and have up to around 3500 x digital zoom on top of the 70 x Optical.

I am very pleased with this Camcorder and it was comparatively cheap as well. The image stabilisation is probably the best in the market as well, which helps if you are filming without a tripod.
