I can tell the twins apart for three reasons:

1. Their hair is parted differently, Hikaru's bangs going to the right(looking at it when the character is facing you and you're looking at the computer), Kaoru's to the left

2. Hikaru's voice is a bit more shrill amd he usually talks more or first

3. Kaoru seems more logical and level-headed than Hikaru

@AnimeFreak17561 I would guess that it's either the voice, the hair (wich is combed in different directsion) or wich side they stand on (Kaoru is almost always on the left side of the screen) or maby that Kaoru is a litle less dominant and more mature. (Sorry for my bad english ^^")
