  • has anyone tried the ac2 with piezo pickups sich as the lr baggs or graphtech

  • do you recomend this pedal dude?

  • as if it sounds that good, i always pictured a wanna be acoustic sound

  • @metallicaluva07 what your hearing is the pedal through standard pickup use and coil tapped. This pedal and other acoustic sims like it are for that gigging guitarist that needs an acoustic sound from his electric in a hurry. It does sound good but it is an emulated sound. To my ears it sounds close to an electric acoustic but not spot on.

  • the-crop.jimdo.com/

  • I was wondering if you were using two amps for this or just one amp? and if just one How?

  • @twiztedchild666 Just one. My Crate CR160 I am just plugged into the pedal and then directly into the input. Haven't tried the effects loop yet to see how it sounds.

  • @northlander30 so was it the "To Amp" output or the "Direct" out? I am asking becuase I was wanting to get one but was not sure if you could use it with just one amp like go for a Distroted sound to the AC2 sounds.

  • @twiztedchild666 No no it was from the guitar to the input to the pedal, output from the pedal to the input in the amp. If you are running pedals in a series or using an amp channel/effect switch then yes you can run the AC2 in series with distortion.

  • @northlander30 oh awesome thanks for the info

  • have you tryed putting something like a wah or distortion before the acoustic sim?

  • @Chainsaw20x7 Yep both actually lol. The Acoustic sim pedal sounds like an actual acoustic would if you ran it through distortion. It doesn't sound that great but the wah pedal sounds pretty good!

  • its sounds a lot like an acoustic best simulator ive heard, but i dont know there just seems like theres something slightly different i cant put my finger on it

  • my ac-2 has a lot of hum and doesn't sound like an acoustic with all the hum... please help... thanks--- i use a 15 watt amp, is this the problem?

  • Great video. Thanks. Can you put this pedal into the effects loop in your amp or do you keep it out front? Thanks

  • I haven't tried with the effects loop, But I am sure you could do that! I just plug into it dorectly

  • That sounds like some LOW action.

  • exactly the first thing u lay have i heard on thomann website as a sample of how an acoustic guitar sounds playin country-is there any particular name for this tune?

  • Actually it was only a picking exercise I learned when I first started playing 30 years ago lol.

  • nice axe bro.

  • nice guitar

  • i see but what happens if you hook up an acoustic guitar to this pedal, will it sound better? i mean, could the pedal be used as a possible pre-amp for a bright sound or a boost option?

  • LOL I don't know what that would sound like, I should try it. But my acoustic sounds fantastic on its own. These pedals were designed for the gigger who doesn't have time to switch guitars. I will try the acoustic through this pedal and let you know.

  • thanks bro, i'd greatly appreciate it.

  • i like it! sweet guitar too, but what happens if you use an actual electric acoustic guitar with this pedal?

  • @slashnpraise your guitar explodes!!

  • @slashnpraise lol, that would be a neat thing to try wouldn't it

  • I was wondering what type of amp you were playing through

  • I was playing through a Crate CR-160. 65w combo amp.

  • does dave uses this pedal for a tout le monde intro??

  • For what I have seen live, Marty Friedman plays the intro and it is on an acoustic. So I would guess that Marty played the intro on the album as well also on an acoustic.

  • and i cant do this sound with this pedal??

  • I guess you could play whatever acoustic songs you wanted with this pedal. Try it out.

  • thnx, i will buy it :)

  • i like it! sweet guitar too, but what happens if you use an actual electric acoustic guitar with this pedal?

  • hey pipl you get the best of this simulator by going right to a PA

  • Cool effects pedal. Not bashing or anything but it doesn't really sound like an acoustic guitar. It sounds more like a clean electric.

Good video none the less. Thanks for the review.

  • No your right, if you want an electric acoustic sound that is authentic , go and buy an electric acoustic lol. These pedals do have their advantages but only sound like an acoustic IMO when you use single coil pickups or you split your humbuckers.

  • im going to get it now :D

  • It actually sounds good on this video.

  • hahaha you're the canadian daniele morandini...CHIATTòòòò XD

  • On the basis of this, I will not buy one.

  • Don't forget this pedal is only meant to emulate an acoustic sound. I think if it were played through an acoustic amp it may make more of a difference.

  • Point taken, but I suppose that't why it'called a SIMULATOR.

  • Exactly, I only bought this pedal because it was 40 bucks and wanted some acoustic diversity. All in All when I coil tap the humbucker is really the only time it sounds somewhat like an acoustic. I just bought an electric acoustic so it kinda makes this pedal redundant. Wonder what my acoustic will sound like through the acoustic simulator lol.

  • There is a guy on here somewhere doing just that. It sounds like crud.

He's the one with the Dry-fit socks.

  • @northlander30 What does that sound like?

  • thx for the demo dude it's sound like the Godin or musicmann petrucci with piezzo ^^ that's realy what i need to heard the brige pickup and the neck taste different and good ^^ did you use an acoustic amp and a mixer for the sound, i see you have a kind of dimarzio pickup i have a emg lukater pickup exactly the same kind of mix with single coil and humbucker.

  • Hey thanks for the comment. To start off no this guitar doesn't have a Dimarzio pickup it has the original BC Rich BDSM humbucker pickup in this video , I have since changed this pickup. I also have a coil tap on the humbucker which gives even more tones. I am not using a mixer or an acoustic amp. I am running straight through the pedal into my Crate CR160 amp.

  • nice review!

  • Great job! i'm buying the ac3 tomorrow, thanks for posting.

  • Excellent man, The AC3 offers one more option then the AC2 that I have. The AC3 has a reverb knob, and if you have reverb in your amp then it is kinda useless I think. But great to have nonetheless. I got this pedal used and it was only 2 weeks old and I got it for 40 bucks!

  • thats actually what happenned here....bought a demo display of ac-3 for $75....great pedal i think...well worth the price

  • Thanks , ya it does sound pretty good. I was holding out to buy the AC3 but when I seen this one in the cabinet I said what the hell. The only difference betwen the AC2 and the new AC3 are the AC3 has a reverb knob and if you have reverb in the amp then you don't need it in the pedal.

  • you just made me want to by this pedal damn hahahaha cuz i heard crap demos of this i like the way this one sounds compared to the 3 as well it pretty closely sounds to a acoustic as if you had played it in to a amplifier
