I love this game so much!

I think the reason why Neku didn't shoot Joshua was BECAUSE he trusted him. I mean, the whole game starts off with him not wanting to trust anyone, but then he trusts Shiki who becomes his 'entry fee', and he starts to trust more and more people. He builds up a strong relationship with Joshua and Beat and in the end, he's told to shoot Joshua. I don't think, after all that, I would shoot Joshua either. :S At the last part, the Producer showed up though. :P

@AK46supr Neku was brought back to life, he didn't die. Joshua shot him because he needed someone like Neku for the game. Neku didn't shoot back because Joshua was a friend. Joshua is actually God, and brings back Neku and all of his friends. So, that's why they all see each other in Shibuya in the end.

@AK46supr Neku lost the final game but technically won because he got his wish to have Shibuya spared. Joshua shot him because he would rather not die. As for Neku if you watch the scene you'll see he's going to shoot but acts very surprised and lowers his gun. Some say Neku's entry fee was his bullet because what he wanted most was to kill Joshua for screwing with him all this time.

Man, I hate how everyone hates Joshua... the only reason Neku lost was because he didn't have enough courage to face even those close to him. Joshua shot him in that last duel because that was his test for him and he failed. So that he could see that he won't let anything get in his way of his goals. Joshua is like a person that treats others fairly, he helps and gives justice at the same time. It's almost like reality.

That's because they're not the same characters. It's the alternate universe where Joshua lands and Hanekoma goes to get him. It's the story of those alternate versions of Neku/Shiki/etc.

@97dusk Only some of them are, actually. Shooter, Joshua, Minamimoto, and the Ramen Don seem like their usual selves, with the exception of the Tin Pin thing. I could see Shiki being a leader of a fangirl troop for the Prince. Even Neku's cynicism shined through with the entire "Crayon" thing.

The main difference seemed to be Tin Pin was everywhere, like how in so many animes, "Game X" is played by everyone. Many characters seem out of character, but they still have the same core.

It's because they're a team of two set out to foil the main character's advancement, one's a guy, one's a girl, one's ambiguously gay (Kariya), and one's a spoiled brat (Uzuki).
