  • 12.000 feet is fun, 30.000 feet is awesome, so why not do 102.800 feet :D

  • If i ever skydived i'd piss my pants

  • No one has the courage and, in simple terms, balls of fucking steel like this man.

    Joseph > Everyone.

  • look at his eyes at .38

    gunslingers eyes

  • Not supersonic, but close, very close. I would love to do this. It'd be pretty cool if a similar jump was performed using today's higher quality video recording technology.

  • why dont more people do this???

  • get me money man

  • I've seen a more in-debt documentary on this. One of his glowes leaked, so he had no protection. His hand swelled to twise the normal size. Luckily it got back to normal and he didn't suffer any long-lasting injuries.

  • What's an "in-debt" documentary...?

  • I have no idea ;) What I meant was that I saw a full documentary focusing only on the story of Kittinger.

  • He fell for 4 minutes and 36 seconds reaching a maximum speed of 614 mph(988 km/h or 274 m/s, before opening his drogue parachute at 18,000 feet. This is NOT supersonic however, wich is around 770 mph at sea level.

He jumped at the top of the stratosphere through the 'ozon layer'. I find it still an amazing achievement.

  • My dad told me about this jump, and I was intent on seeing what he was talking about. I'm glad I found videos of it here!

  • wow.. freefall @ speed of sound.

  • oh my fucking god

  • Hell yeah!!! this guy rocks!!!!

The first man in the space and the first one to go beyond mach 1...

    cool!

  • 20miles is not space.

  • 31,330m and there's no air, that's more outer space than any other thing, but actually you're right that's not outer space.

  • Theres barely any air on the top of Mt. Everest. If he was in space, he would be weightless. He wasnt ;)

  • CheaterNLaw:

Do some research on "Weightlessness misconceptions". You are one of the many that are fooled into the "No gravity in space" myth.

  • @CheaterNLaw

Being in space does not mean you are weightless. Astronauts aboard satellites are weightless merely because they are orbiting Earth...literally falling sideways. In fact, at the altitude that most satellites orbit, Earth's gravity is still very strong, about 90 percent of what it is at sea level.

I suggest you educate yourself on gravity and our atmosphere before posting.

  • @norman4lyf gee captain obvious, you feel the urge to showoff a year after it has been posted? :D

  • @CheaterNLaw

Since your comment is just a couple comments down, I thought you must have posted it like a few days ago. My bad.

  • woooohoooo happy idea wow he reached that speed hes sooo lucky if they tell me to do this ill do it right away i love it

  • ohhh my god!
