Tierra is great, but it sounds watered down next to the sexy horns and great voices of the original...Intruders...I listened to Tierra and then got blown off my couch by the original. Try it.
Great cover of the Intruders classic. This was when I first discovered the Latin brothers on the West coast were diggin' old school R&B. ( I was from NYC. I had no idea they were Latino).
I'm black and I know the original singers were as well, but I LOVE TIERRA! I was 19 in east LA and in love with a CHOLO!! He got shot and i have never loved anyone like him since!
@2009Denisem We could be in poverty no one to lend a helping hand, But it's alright , I know because you always understand, These lyrics epotmize what love really is ! Love is TOGETHER BABY !

I thought I'd never hear this song ever again. I was only between 9-11 yrs old when this song came out. I had to move to the west coast to hear it again. Great cut, O, I must have had to buy 3 or 4 albums. I burned them out at the wedding and parties I did. It also came right on time when I did the Salsa Soul Show on WHBI in the early 1980s. When I played it the phones would light up from listeners wanting to hear it again.

Reminds me of good times with my husband. I don't understand why we didn't last. I guess I'll never know. Listening to this song takes me back to the day we moved into our first home together and it was just the two of us starting a new life. I'll always remember our good times together.
These guys did a HELLUVA job covering this Intruders classic. Was a slow jam in DC. The DJ use to mixed the two versions....regret not recording it. Thanks for the post. Have it on vinyl...have not been successful in finding it on CD.
This is a very good song. Musically, it is a song that just "goes through"...in other words, It starts and ends. They should have made made a loger version and instrumental with a rock-type of guitar solo. 1980...♥♥♥♥ Hi Isabel Garcia

Good, but not very good. My fav of this song is a very slow 9/8-measure version (rhythmically like "If You Don't Know Me By Now") sung by a young black lady. However, I haven't been able to figure out WHO. Sounds very gospel-like. I don't expect to ring any bells with anyone here, but you never know :)
Damn I got this 45, and on the otherside is a 40's style jam called Zoot Suit Boogie. My homie Fredo brought it over back in 87. I hope the fool don't ask for it back.
