  • I put 2.2 on my droid x, but i rooted it before I did the update, what I was wondering is when the OTA update from Verizon comes out in early september, will I still be able to update even though I have 2.2 and its rooted

  • Dude, do US a favor and RUN some tests on Ur droid X unit and toss some CPU data our way; WAHT say U-sport? We wann'a see whether it's a Graphics buggy when CPU close to overload? FYI You can TWEAK the Juice (Electricity) flow to extend batt. lifespan. If you want, now that you got 2.2 you can easily OVERCLOCK Froyo Kernels and fix wifi along duh way-Z which are NOT as high as the standard voltages from Motorola (which means better battery life and more stability 4 YOU). PM me if U want IT?

  • @statelesswarrior I ran some tests on mine, on 3 benchmark tests it shows my CPU speed to be 2.5 times as fast and I can tell a difference when just opening applications, as far as GPU i do not see a difference except for the fact that I can open flash games and have no lag at all

  • @mikeew93 Thanks. . . So slightly overclocked and much improved OS -- thanks. . . Something to be expected. I just my Droid but it came with 2.1 and basic factory install of OS. I got 2.2 update.zip and tried to install factory, rooted, and unrooted, and still nothing. Mind telling me how you got pass the "Unverified File" Notification in Droid's BIOS? I hack as a hobby but thus far couldn't past that notification stage. Waiting to flash the phone to Cricket (Myself) after I upgrade to 2.2.

  • I think that he somehow got it with 2.2 on it -- preloaded. The reason 4 that is the fact that I tried many different hacks to get the droid to accept the install of 2.2; 1 St. Factory settings, then I rooted the fooker, and when that failed, Un--fooki'n rooted the what is now a sucker whilst being careful NOT to BRICK the unit, but NO success! Moto's eFuse technology thus far impenetrable. Will not decompile OS to see where's the Achilles heal? once I succeed, will post a Vid on how to. .

  • So...how did ya get a Droid X with 2.2 on it? Mind letting us know???

  • chrometophone has been around, at least for my n1

  • Can you access to SD card?

  • Hey can you check if the frame rate when recording is better. The Evo's video now looks better after 2.2

  • 2 POINT 2...What's this 2 dot 2 bs.

  • did they add the home icon in the application drawer??

  • @mcchristolear Yeah i'll post a better, more polished video tonight.

  • The constantly moving camera makes this video very annoying to watch....looks like you have the camera on your head....

  • Hey where can i download 2.2 from? I have The Droid X as well and would love to have it running specially because of flash. Thanks

  • @CONAZO1979 Unfortunately for the rest of us Droid X owners, Motorola's eFuse technology has made it impossible to install a non-Motorola-approved ROM. The video poster appears to have acquired a Motorola-approved Froyo ROM by pure luck.
