About the only command I ever used on it was BEEP, MAIL, and some built in text editor. And maybe CD. :-/ BEEP was fun. Decades before instant messaging, we'd beep talk each other from around campus, it was better than a telephone.
I don't know if he was at the show or not -- I've never made it to the VCF (work, kids, etc.) -- I do know a Gunther in Indianapolis who does (or DID) own a VAX 11/780 -- I thought maybe it was his. He's got a web-page somewhere about his VAX collection, if you google some likely terms in this post you might have found a local 'playmate.' Best of luck!
