i can't understand why they didn't make this phone with a real flash, it's made for taking pictures in the first place but they didn't installed a flash. has anyone tried taking pictures in the dark with this phone?? are they any good?

I dislike this phone. It's slow, the predictive text is rubbish and there is no flash on the camera. The appstore is confusing and there are not decent apps. 4/10

@bozii25 no get something else. the predictive text sucks. it comes up with randonm wordss and the screen is annoying. you have to physically press it. and it comes with a facebook app which sucks. the cameras decent but there's no flash which is gay.

Can you suggest a fix for the low sound levels?

And can I suggest an app that would, in-phone, create a copy of the original .mp4 file but in YouTube native format. I suspect that a file like this would be much smaller and thus easier to upload to YouTube through mobile data networks (and wifi too of course when we can find such a network). Right now even a 1-minute 720p video in the highly compressed .mp4 format takes literally hours to upload via 3G+.

I've recently purchased a Vivaz for a friend. The idea is that he will use it to keep a video blog of a 350 mile charity walk that he is soon to embark on (over £2000 raised so far!).

We chose the Vivaz because of its HD video and video cam autofocus (which are great!) but we're still battling with a few problems such as low sound levels and of course slow upload times for the quite large .mp4 video files that are created when using 720p HD.

@DestineyAwates Hi, You are likely to get a memory card with the phone, but it depends who you purchase it from. The phone uses the MicroSD card upto 32GB.

I suggest that you try updating the phone software, even if the software says that you have the newest version of software. You can find Sony Ericsson Update Service software on the Sony Ericsson website.

hey am kinda confused... sometimes wen a take a pic it says memory full close some open items and try agen.... but that doesnt make sense because the only open items a have the camera and a have 6.1 gigabites of memory and 51mb of phone handset memory... please tell me what this means!!!!!!!

PLEASE PLEASE try the phone before you buy. If you're a child and want the phone for the camera then go for it. I can't fault the camera or video quality.

As a phone it is pants. Say goodbye to texting marathons if you get the Vivaz.. Also, say goodbye to any feeling in the tips of yur fingers.

Martha, a stylus is useless. The majority of people type on the go. It's also not 1980. We shouldn't need a stylus for what is by any standards and expensive phone.

I took my Vivaz back and after much negotiation got a new model of my much loved deceased phone. Only then did the woman in the shop say she has had more of these returned in the last few weeks than she can remember.

@RoofieHop I can understand your point. You gave it a fair try. If you don't like using the phone and its not what you want after trying it out for a couple of days, then its not the right phone for you! I would recommend the Xperia™X10 if you had not already gotten a phone.

Since we do not sell the phone directly, you will have to contact various service providers and electronics retailers to inquire whether or not they intend on picking up the phone to sell it. It really depends on location and retailer's preference.

@anythiinqq It has an onscreen keyboard. The phone is a little smaller than my preferred - I will like the Vivaz™ pro better, I think. When I use it sideways, I can use my fingers on the onscreen keyboard, though. Also, the phone has pretty decent handwriting recognition using the stylus.

of all the reviews/previews i've seen i'm yet to see evidence that SE has learnt from mistakes of the past. Not much being said about the stability of the new Symbian system. imho too much emphasis on HD camera & fancy asthetics, not enough on reliability. 600mhz CPU? Fairly slow compared to many units in competition. Guess we'll have to wait n see...

dude if I were you I would go with the vivaz specially if you like taking pics and recording videos. Also, it's size is amazing and regarding the weight, it's the lightest smartphone in the market today. I strongly recommend this phone.
