Man, why oh why didn't Aretha have this track on any of her C.D.'s? My mom and I love hearing this tune and we still sing it to this day. Though I like this version, she likes the shorter one where Aretha harmonizes at the end of the tune.

I remember this season 1 intro, because Charles Hallahan (better known as Capt. Devanne on TV's "Hunter" from 1986-91) was Grace Kelly's (Brett Butler) boss in the 1st season. Then when he was axed, John Shirley (Paul Dooley) became her new boss w/ the 2nd season.

It was used for seasons one, two and three. Season four got a new opening which was also used for the syndicated episodes btwn seasons one and three. Also take note of Nadine's hair in the opening with the rock music, Libby's look is a few years older and Patrick is a toddler instead of a baby.

Correct, Aretha Franklin. I personally like this open better than current. Wonder why the change. The odd thing is, the music that is used to bump into and out of breaks and between scenes still use this melody.
