  • If a stock Z06 is going low 11's in the 1/4, there is no doubt a ZR1 is hitting high 10's.

  • @19thaman79 Fastest time for a bone stock C6 ZR1 I've seen on youtube is a 10.74 on stock tires.

  • I lied it was the same driver lol, that means its good for 7:12's with a real driver lol. nissan finaly gets a good time only to get it shit on a week later lol

  • have you tried with slicks?

  • FLAWLESS!!!

  • This guy shifts like a pro. It just goes to show the real potential of this car when you can drive it.

  • pfff - I dont understand why insideline tested the new ZR1 vs GTR R35

    even a stock N/A C6 Z06 can KILL a nissan GTR easily.

AMERICAN MUSCLE IS UNBEATABLE AND WILL ALWAYS DOMINATE TILL THE END OF TIME/GAS -DEAL WITH IT RICERS.

  • @3O2MuStAnG

hahaha ^ this made me laugh especially when i see you guuys crashing all the time

  • iv seen average drivers in bone stock c6 z06 pull off 11.5 easily, so why does 11.2 seem impossible?

  • why not? my z06 runs 11.1@126mph %100 stock my best top speed is 199mph

  • that is wat my point was... did you even read what i said?

  • i dont believe that at all.that would mean it is quicker than the zr1.dont believe it!!nice try though

  • the zr1 is a 10 sec car 205mph+

  • what magazine has it doing 10 seconds?

  • the best zr1 1/4 mile is 10.8@136mph best top speed 207mph (no drag radials).... the best z06 1/4 mile is 10.8@129mph (drag radials) 11.0@127mph %100 stock

  • where is that info located?i know they say the z06 is bone stock.i just dont believe it.chevy guys always lie about shit.

  • nissan lie about the overrated gt-r! the gt-r runs 12.2 1/4 mile not 11.7

  • The GT-R is the most overrated piece of shit available today. Its nothing more than a bargaining chip to leed people to Nissan showrooms. The one thing that really gets me with the GT-R is its bullshit Ring times. Originally it did a time of 7:50 which was the best time achieved than slowly the times started decreasing dramatically supposedly with no modifications. It went down to 7:38 to 7:32 to 7:29 to 7:26.Its boggles my mind how this car keeps getting faster and faster with no mods. PURE BS!

  • I think Japan and performance don't go in the same sentence LOL.

  • @local282forlife Idiots like you make me laugh. Porsche's 7:50 lap time already got tossed out the window when sports auto ran a 7:38 with the GTR.. same time as the zr1. Not a surprise both cars ran a 7:26 laptime on nurburgring...

  • @pier456 The person who ran the gtr to 7:26 at nurburgring is a ex race car driver lol, even ran a few races of formula one the person who tested the zr1 is a engineer who worked on the car, let mario andretti run the zr1 around nurburgring and see if he doesnt knock of 5-10 secs biased fuck

  • @ilovebreck And the person who drove the zr1 was a ex race car driver WHO CARES. Plenty of cars were driven by pro's. What excuse is that? and knock 5-10 seconds off? LOL you smoking that crack buddy? Keep your wet dreams in your pants cuss that's not happening.

  • @pier456 No sooner then you open your mouth does the zr1 post a 7 second faster time at the Ring LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL. Thought it didnt matter who was driving? Get shit on GT-R POS overpriced, overtech, garbage. 20k dollar trans that breaks if you use its launch mode once and voids its warranty LOL.

  • @ilovebreck What are you even talking about now? Who cares what person was used to drive the cars. Both were pros end of story. How is the GTR overpriced when its one of the best bang for buck cars out their? Take your bull shit opinions somewhere else and is this 2008? Why are you talking about voided warranty's and broken transmissions? LOL Get back up to 2011 moron. That shit is old.

  • Totally agreed, I've seen bullshiters talk about sub 11 stock corvettes as if any old fart could achieve that. So much bullshit being passed around its rediculous. Anyone who has actually raced knows how difficult these times are in reality.

  • wow, those are some awesome numbers

  • nope, not a 10 second car but nice try.

  • uhhh, look at trap speed not 1/4 mile time. if it traps higher that means its spinning somewhere. the zr1 is faster than the z06 no one knows how to hook it yet

  • sorry i sniff panties

  • because anyone who has actually raced a car understands that .3 seconds is a big fucking difference. It is always easier to talk about these times but hitting the gears perfect and launching is not easy

  • agreed, unless your practice the craft at the track they have no idea how hard it is to gain .3-.5 seconds it takes a fine touch with that clutch and the the throttle, most cannot do it right

  • Ain't no doubting it, the calc's all say it adds up. Any doubters should bring their heap and their money to the strip! (dunno if he actually races like dat, but you know the game...)

Here I been fighting to get my 00 coupe into the tens and all he had to do was add drag radials. Should have saved the 15k I put in mine and just traded it all in on one of these! Awesome car, awesome driver. See you at MIR this year if I ever get done tweaking mine. (cf: IFLUBYU)

  • The eruopeons embellish them selfs, thinking they're so great with there cars that can handle so well around corners when they haven't ever gotten straight line acceleration to perfection like this guy!

Forget corners, this kind of racing takes just as much talent and engineering!

  • Actually, pleasantly, the ZO6 is a fantastic road course car as well....just look up the Top Gear lap time board for their test track. The ZO6 is way up there near the top.

  • Yeah that's true, besting the beloved F430, gotta love that. :-)

  • Ranger, you are a fantastic driver. That run was about as close to perfection as I have seen so far in terms of technique on a standard road car.

  • Thanks for the information, Ranger. I think you're doing a great service for those who want to extract every ounce of 1/4 mile capability from their Z06's. Right now, we're all busy trying to survive the wildfires in SoCal, so no time to enjoy the Z06. Keep up the good work on the forum.

  • Great run! Did you have TC off or were you in comp mode?

  • In the C6, I run at the track in "Traction System Off." That setting, one push of the console button, allows the rear wheels to spin but keeps the aggressive form of Active Handling to help should the car get loose during the pass.

  • Obviously the track was prepped very well that day. Outside temps? Is it just me, or does the track look like it's going downhill? Nice run.

  • FASTER THEN THE NEW VIPER LADIES AND GENTLEMEN...new viper runs 11.5 to 11.7...what does that tell u bout the 600 hp viper?

  • Wow! You can actually hear the gear change!

  • wow!!!

  • This guy is one hell of a driver.

  • god bless GM for this awesome car...

  • That was awesome, what do you launch at, and how much more RPM can you get away with on your drag radials?

  • Details on this pass are in a thread at the link in the video description. This launch on stock tires was at 3350. On drag radials, max launch is about 3650. Above that the LS7 clutch becomes unhappy and the engine management computer dishes out more "Torque Management" penalty to protect the drive train. So on stock LS7-engine cars, the driver can't make a "hard launch."

  • All you need to do is drop by your local Chevy dealer and ask ... I did. I'll tell you that your insurance will probably be double that of your '01 Z28. I have a 98 Z28 and an 03 Z06...much better value and insurance is managable.

  • Awesome run!

  • Seemed like your 1st-2nd shift wasn't quite at redline from the sound of it...but hell of an ET man, nice run. Room for improvement still?

  • Hi desertls1. I did a quick check of my in-car video of that pass. The 1-2 shift clutch-in was at 6900, against a target of 7000. The 2-3 was at 7000, and the 3-4 was at 7000. So you have a good ear to discern a 100 rpm difference. The wheel spin on the 1-2 cost some time, as did the 1.85 60'. So there is room for improvement. The 330'-1320' increment was 6.32, an extremely fast time on stock tires. So any improvement will come in the first 330'...the launch and 1-2 shifts.

  • I keep telling people about your runs, and they still think it's tuned. Is there any way you can go on an official show, and have them give you a fully stock C6 Z06 in front of everyone, and you run it?

They say it's impossible for the C6 Z06 1/4 time to be so close to McLaren F1's 1/4.

  • I personally believe you, but I want to show these doubters it's true. :)

  • I have a feelin Ranger will do the same in any stock Z-06. His driving skills are way above your average JOE. He is really amazing. His launches off the line is just crazy...
