Brilliant - seen Dickie Rock and Miami Showband playing live in Ireland - he was the only band that that when he appeared we stopped jiving to watch. Good looking dude and he could sing too plus the band was great.........Thanks for the wonderful memories.
I love the story of Dickiepumping gas at a gas station. Some guy came over to him and dissed his family or something...now I was only a kid back then so my facts may be innacurrate...apparently..he whacked the guy with the gas nozzle...It was headline news back then in Dublin
Dickie Rock is absolutely NOT sad - he's a bloody legend. I'm only in my 30's so I wasn't around during his hey-day but I probably wouldn't be here but for Mr Dickie Rock and his music, if you know what I mean... ;-)
dickie is my dad's cousin, in the 60's the man was huge, everybody now reckons he is a little bit sad, but at the end of the day the man was huge and very very successful. i was at a family wedding a few years ago and he got up and sang, even in his 60's he had everyone at the wedding totally enjoying the performance, you could tell he had something special
