People fail too see that don't know anyone from wv or have ever visited huntington, charleston morgantown or any major city in wv and met the people there that wv is a friendly state and has very nice/clean cities, and 75% of us are no racist and infact educated and easy going.
I agree with aimeedus. There is a huge difference in obvious education and openness between the two videos (for and against) Obama. This video gave me faith again... Thank you for that.
WOW, you guys sound great!! I'd seen another vid that's really discouraging with some really negative people.. wish you guys could get through to a lot more people..
I just watched a video about west virginans and why they wont vote for Obama and let me tell you there is such a difference between the west virginians that were voting for clinton and the ones voting for Obama
I believe if Obama just gone to West Virginia and campaign they would know him more and will get at least half of the votes.
Basically he didn't go there because he need to concentrate on Mccain. With time West Virginian will come to know him. Some even think he is a Muslim when in fact he is a Christian who was married in a church and had both of his daughters baptised.
For now on, if any who honestly say they don't like Obama say their reason. Give every one a reason why you won't vote for a guy who is qualified to be President. I am disapointed in the fact that people would say that they don't like him because they don't trust him or something stupid like that. We are talking about the same America that voted Bush President Twice. Wake up America or go to sleep.
I wish videos like this were more publicized before you guys voted. I am so proud of those of you West Virginians who stood up for change and for hope and for a new America! Wonderful people in a state that is, unfortunately, lagging a little behind (progressively speaking).
It's good to know that there are good people EVERYWHERE!
It's refreshing the see the rational people in West Virginia.
Not voting for Barack Obama doesn't make you a racist in ANY way.
BUT...if you're not voting for him because you think he's a secret muslim or because you don't trust black people, you shouldn't be allowed to vote due to your mental instability.
well i should say being a cheer leader in the whitehouse doesnt count that much either, he has more legislative experience than HRC, his roots was in community/public service. Senator obama did not accept PAC and lobbyist money on his run for Presidency, he is funded dy the american people so he is answerable to us as opposed to the Repugnican opponent which campain is runned by lobbyist, to whom do you think his loyalty is, take a look at his history. there's a word with 5,etc.
Obama is perpairing for Mccain. But what better way to prepair, then to try to get the red states? Obama cant beat Mccain. (The south will be black verses white and the other states will not be enough for him.)
A win in WVA means squat. It is the most racist state in the union. I should know, my family is from WVA.
FACT:WVA is the only state with a former KKK leader, Robert Byrd, as a Senator. My aunt, who is from Randolph county, admits when she was younger, there was a sign on the main road that said, "N*gger don't let the sun set on you in Randolph County."
Hillary supporters please call your candidate and get her to drop out or we'll all get screwed with another 4 years of repuglican misrule.
Obama has no past history of bringing positive "change" as an Illinois senator for 8 years. His rhetoric has no weight IMO with no prior results or proven method.
Tell me fatback with the Bush administration in power blocking most proposals from the democrats what change can a liberal state senator make? How can you expect a senator to make change if the government abuses their power? Honestly now, Im sure you damn well know better then that.
The man offers change and as far as I can see its better to vote to start or new or continue the Bush term because like 2004, your too scared for change.
Gathered support for legislation reforming ethics and health care laws, increasing tax credits for low income workers, negotiated welfare reform, increased childcare subsidy. Do your own research FatbackMcGee. I will be ashamed of you if i find out that u said the above statement just to say it, and if U are an American you should stop writing like this and for redemption go and vote for Barack
I hate to say this because my family is from WV, but WV is the home of the most uneducated people in America from what I've read. And uneducated ppl tend to be less tolerant of diversity...which is why I believe Obama didn't stand a chance there. Too bad, they have no idea what they missed out on.
Yeah, some "racially" thoughtful and sensitive people. I agree with you. They don't listen to the media and that's why they still think Barack is a muslim, despite his former pastor's publicity on TV. To them, a pastor, leads the activities in a mosque. Good thinking VenicDred!!
Even though Clinton won in W.V. I wanted to thank those of you who came out to vote for Obama. Obama is getting closer and closer to locking up the nomination. He will have the amount right after Montana and South Dakota's contests. I hope Obama doesn't pick Hillary as his VP... he will send his Republican supporters like my bf right back to the Republican Party. Instead I hope he either picks Chuck Hagel or Kathleen Sebelius for his VP.
Just looking at campaign videos like this,in years to come, historians are going to have so much more source material on the present day, it is unfathomable to think about it.
While Obama has drawn praise from Democrats and Republicans for his intellect and diligence, he's struggling to please all those who expect something from him: liberals want the formerly feisty antiwar candidate to be the standard bearer for their causes, Democrats in Washington want him to take on Bush, African Americans want the only black Senator to speak out on racial issues, and moderates and Republicans like McCain want to see Obama's bipartisan side. It's a complicated balance,
The polls say he won't take WV but hopefully the predicted gap in WV is narrowed by the common sense of those uneducated white people who, Hillary says, support her. Go Barack!!!
can you imagine if Obama actually pulled off a win tonight? Clinton would have to run for the "Hill" for sure..haha. I think the race would be officially over after that.
I'm white, lower income, working, finishing college from Johnson City TN, and I support Obama not polls which say I should be voting for Hillary. Obama 08!
Good Slogan from Canada Humanist, to Obama the American humanist. You don't have to America for Obama IN 08, You just have to say AMERICA FOR CHANGE IN 08,,,WE THE HUMANIST OF THE WORLD WILL KNOW WHO YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT!!!
As a native ex-pat West Virginian I'm hoping that when the time comes to make a choice, and it's between Obama and another four years of horrors with McCain, that the good folks of WVa will choose a new path for their state and the US.
Thanks to the beautiful individuals in this clip and all the Supporters who will vote for Obama. We are extremely grateful and fired up and ready to go.
Hillary feeds on ignorance off the uneducated. She spins ideas to suet her own needs this is a woman that said Obama was not ready to be prescient then says that she will consider putting him vice prescient. She scares me, what scares me the most the fox style of hunting Obama because they see him as a fret to the republicans is spreading all-around the media. People rise up agent's ignorance and spin and vote for Obama.
are you trying to say that WV residents are ignorant? Im a huge Obama supporter from WV I know alot of people actually do support him here. Just not enough. Even though Im not for Clinton I think it was ok for her to stay in the race because it makes WV people feel like they do have a choice and that there opinions are heard.
Well, I'm glad he's being nice enough to give this state any attention at all. After viewing and listening to some of the racist and ignorant comments out of this state, I wonder how they managed to stay in the 1950's while the rest of us have moved on to the 21st century.
But a lot of West Viginians do have open minds. So when the choice is between turning the page and moving forward vs. 4 more Bush-like years, Barack Obama will find a good deal of support in this state.
I am praying that you are right, for thats how i feel. But you never know with some Americans, afterall it is the country and ppl who voted for Bush twice, who were scared to the point of giving away their civil liberty and who tonight shall be giving Hillary a huge victory,if the media pronostic is correct.I just dont know what one can do to let some Americans see clearly.
No it's not -- we did not vote for Bush twice. Kindly read a little on the vote fraud that was perpetrated on this country. I don't know a single person who voted for him either time and I know lots of Republicans. I'm confident that Obama will be elected in November - especially with the voting protections put into place. I'd like to then hear our international critics explain how so many putative Bush voters voted for a progressive candidate.
wow, I'm surprised...I only heard bad things about West Virginians
