  • Who cares? These cockroaches waited Gary Moore died to try and get money. The can go to hell, juste spineless and talentless bastards.

Moore was a pure genius, no one cares about a band named Jud's Gallery.

Just RIP Phil and Gary, millions of fans can't be wrong

  • I'm proud to say I've seen these guys live in '83 .

Although it was with Sykes , it was one of the best

concerts I've ever been to .

    I miss Phil !!!

  • good luck to them getting the money. gary moore died in feb. 2011

  • I photographed Thin Lizzy in 1977 when they opened for Queen. To see the shots go to 70srockphotos (.com)

Miss Phil everyday, and listen to his music everyday!RIP!!!!Never be another like you brother!!!!! <3

  • These guys were the best, up with Rainbow. Saw 'em live once in Cork sadly during their later days when Snowy White was with them. lynnot was a poet AND rocker.

listen to "Still in love with you" or "The hero and the madman".

"Live and dangerous" is possibly one of the best albums ever released.

  • What a great band!

I have the audio of Thin Lizzy and Queen audio! =)

Thin Lizzy was the opening act for Queen! - I know because I'm a fan of Queen! =)

    QUEENROCKS!

  • @thegreatlizzy

Gary Moore isn't on any of the videos where you posted this non-story. Stop being a troll.

Besides, his body isn't even cold in the ground and you bring this up now...well, we can't all have class I guess...

  • the best band ever

  • @thegreatlizzy the best band ever

  • @thegreatlizzy oh yorkie ,you'll never learn ,RESPECT the DEAD ,also thin lizzy just love them ,love looking at this picture ,unreal !!!

  • I saw this tour,, they opened with this song played the entire song with ALL THE HOUSE LIGHTS ON.

    Cool as shit..

As soon as it was finished, boom house lights went out, stage floods hit then right into Jailbreak.

    Place went nuts.

    I'll never forget it.

  • @4stringsaplenty Lucky you! Get the chills just reading it. By the way it´s easy to get the chills here in Sweden these days.

  • Who played the keyboard fills live? We`re they "played" from the desk?

  • The bells toll for those about to die ....

  • Lizzy opened the 1977 tour with this track. After the slow intro the pyrotechnics came in with the first drum beat. My all time fav gig.

  • Wish this was on the Killers Live 12 inch instead of Dear miss Lonely Heart(good song though) or Are you ready.

That 12 inch sounds amazing on vinyl

  • TOTALLY AGREE WITH YA!!!! GOT TO SEE THEM TWICE!!!! THOSE WHERE THE BEST OF TIMES R.I.P. PHll

  • i don't think there are many bands who sound this good on record never mind live

    awesome.

  • Amazing IRISH BAND...And the bells toll..

  • they are the Best!

    love scott soo much!

    <33

  • its hard to hear that chorus riff in the album recording! great to hear it here

  • Nevermind who Gorham looks like or doesn't look like. It's an amazing, underrated song! Thanks for posting.

  • AGREE!!

  • Doesn't get any better than this.

  • scott is the reason i play guitar

  • i think he looks like matt too, but before you start hating me for saying that, think about it this way those "posers" bands actually introducted a lot of kids into classic rock/metal. even me who didn´t like music at thanks the nowdays shit

  • saw gary moore at leeds in april . he was RUBBISH. not talking to the fans falling out with the rest of the band telling the fans to fuck off and he did not play that well . it was just a mess he as truned in to a twat . we paid £ 40 to see him what a wast

  • Everyone is human. So he had a bad night. God forbid it happened when you graced the audience.

  • i just had to say,, and agree with shaunberry to a point,, it is melodic genius,, and god the drums,, come on eh,, they were the best live band,, just so good,, but the best line up i ever seen was gary, scott, brian, and phil,, not knockin robbo, just sayin,, never ever forget gary and scott playin black rose,, stafford 78,, just amazin

  • How dare you say that about Scott Gorham.

  • I never said he didn't look like Matt Tuck to you. I just said it was an insult to him that you would say that.

  • Matt Tuck looks nothing like Scott Gorham. Hell, I didn't know who Matt Tuck was, so I had to google. Matt Tuck sort of looks like my garbage man. He even looks dirty like him.

And seriously...is it that much harder to type "said" as opposed to "sed". Putting this as nicely as I can, you look like a fucking idiot.

  • Quote... Putting this as nicely as I can, you look like a fucking idiot.

    End...

LOL LOL LOL...you make me laugh !!!!

  • scott gorham looks like ben wells from black stone cherry

  • It's a shame you would compare Thin Lizzy, rock/heavy metal legends, to those posers.

  • one of my favourites too! Phil was and is still the King of

Rock, visit the first Philo Exhibition 27th April -

8th May in Arklow Ireland with great Tribute Charity

Night on 3rd May,hope to see a few from here

  • Was Robbo on this? I only ask because the entire business of him only being a session musician on the 'Soldier of Fortune' album, but him still being in the 'Dancing in the Moonlight' video... would this have been during the time when Robbo wasn't around and they still hadn't found Snowy? I'm confused.

  • Yep, Robbo left and reentered the band in June-July 1977. He toured with Lizzy for Bad Reputation until June 1978.

  • Hahaha, what a blunder, yeah I meant 'Bad Reputation' not 'Soldier of Fortune'.

  • Another king blunder. I don't mean before they found Snowy, I mean before Gary Moore joined the band again... heheh.

  • Eh. It's happens.

  • No Robbo was fired from Lizzy. He had a handcut from a confrontation in a pub shortly before a US tour in 1976. so the tour had been cancelled. He plays as a guest on "Bad Reputation". Lizzy played the US tour as a support from Queen in 1977 with Gary Moore. After the tour Robbo cames back. Snowy cames in 1980 to Lizzy after Moore had quitted.

  • I know all of this. Why did you tell me that?

  • @Saillcoosp wow what a show that must have been..Lizzy and Queen....dont get much better......

  • This is from the new cd 'Still Dangerous' does anyone know if it was FILMED?

  • Thin Lizzy 4ever!!!!!!!!<333333333

  • phil lynott has the best voice in rock n roll.

  • Pure melodic guitar genius rock....they'll never be bettered as a live band.....with Robbo that is.

  • all bow at the feet

  • And a L P .. THIN LIZZY 'Sound' TradeMark.. Duel Guitar Attack. Patent Pending..Lol Thx BlkSabFan 2..3..Fore

  • love that solo soooooooo much!!!thin lizzy are my life

  • Thin Lizzy - Bad Company - Led Zeppelin - Deep Purple - Uriah Heep - BEST BANDS EVER !

  • Great list, but personally, I think you need to add Blue Öyster Cult.

  • HOLY CRAP! Someone who's heard of Uriah Heep! I'll be a Heepster for life!

  • lizzy are my life too ;) and I'am afraid, I'm the no1 ;) greetings from Poland

  • haha wwatever dude its just a name....how many albums do u have??

  • Man I wish I was old enough to see these guys in concert in the '70's :(

    Love TL & Phil (RIP)

  • Great live rendition! You can hear that the band is really tight. Nice clean chops from both guitarists! TL were probably the best live band of their era.

  • This is much better than the Reading 77 version I have. Thanx for uploading.

  • My dad was there. He said it was the best concert he has seen in all his 50 years and I believe it. =D

  • Does anyone happen to know which live album this song is from? Would be so glad to know!

    Cheers

  • It's not from an official live album. It's from a bootleg.

  • I think the recorded version (not live) is on Bad Reputation

  • The opening is one of the best parts, stfu.

  • I agree totally would be great without the opening and the drum thing. strange but the totally cheesy opening on fools gold works for me though it is of the same ilk...well rock on brother.

  • Same dude. Love it when the verse kicks in, but it's got a dumb start and I don't dig the marching drum bit - all a bit war song predictable. I still like the track though (awesome to hear it live!), but I always find it a strange/bad choice opener on Bad Reputation. It doesn't have the impact of Jailbreak, Johnny or Do Anything You Want To. It's a bit slow and too long for the opener, probably would have been better to start side 2. Bad Reputation would have kicked the record off better.

  • Opium Trail should have been the first track on Bad Rep. Agree, this should have started side 2.

  • Hell yeah man!! On that album, it was all Scott. Robbo [Brian Robertson], did a bit on this album, but in the end, not needing a wah-wah, not needing a overdrive I think...it was all Scott.

  • Robbo was still a big part of it, even though his days were numbered. He rocked here.

  • Brow,Scott did the main solo alone!

Robbo rocks, but i have to tell you this.

I'm not trying to be the smart one, just making a comment,ok?

  • Thanks for posting this.Saw them live at Dalymount Park 1977 as a 15-year-old and they played this.Always loved the song, should have been on Live and Dangerous.Great to hear a live version again.

  • thanks for posting this!!! great to hear such a great band playing live at the height of their success.

    Nice one!!!

  • I'm amazed that they didn't play this one more often. And I agree that Bad Reputation was probably their best album, in terms of production, variety, consistency, and overall soulfullness. Scott REALLY stepped up his game on that disc.

  • It was from this album and ever after i found Scott the greatest guitarist to ever have picked up a Les Paul.

  • Scott plays a strat now, still with Thin Lizzy.

  • was this with Robbo or Gary? I know Gary did a tour with them around this time.

  • This is with Robbo. Moore was with them in early '77, when Lizzy toured with Queen, and Robbo came back around August '77 and stayed about a year.

  • It just gets better and better, thank you so much. Bloody awesome. You are a star for posting all this stuff, thanks again.

  • i would agree that this is arguably their best album along w/live and dangerous-no bands of today are in their league-i was very lucky to see them live on 4 different tours but they never played this one-top shelf selection.

  • You did it again dude. I'm jealous about all of the super rare Thin Lizzy stuff you have. Keep posting my favorite band....You rock !!!!

  • "Fantastico" :-)

I always loved the studio version a lot. I knew that it was played live during the release of Bad Reputation but never heard a live version before. GREAT!

  • A great song maybe from the best Lizzy album... Scott really shows what a great guitar player he was!! With out him no Lizzy Sound! 74-83

  • No doubt. Scott's fluid harmony parts laid a foundation for the revolving door of other lead guitar players who typically played the higher harmony lines.

  • thanx again-i had a feeling you had this posted-this is one of their best tracks-i never thought i would hear a live version-excellent quality
