  • I actually remember that channel 56 'Kids Club' graphic 0:53! I was in 5th grade.

And Victoria Block actually looks nice, compared to how scary she looks now.

  • @zeo2k I was thinking the same thing about her:(

  • Here's an interesting tidbit on the segment from Channel 7...three of those involved made appearances as anchors on cable news channels..

Of course, Miles O'Brien was at CNN and E.D. Hill was over on Fox News .. but, for bonus points.. R. D. Saul was an anchor for the short lived Satellite News Channel back in the 80's...

  • Former Fox employee 'E.D. Hill' is on this clip, but as 'Edie Tarbox'. RD is still on NECN these days.

Miles: still seems to show up every hurricane or shuttle launch on CNN..

  • Actually, CNN fired O'Brien sometime last fall.. I think it was some effort to cut costs and go with what they consider more "youthful" anchors such as Anderson Cooper ... of course, that doesn't explain why they keep Larry King around..

  • I hadn't realized that about Miles..

  • Although, I find it funny to have a rainbow "7".

  • Two observations and one question:

On the Channel 7 map with Harvey Leonard, part of I-95 is missing. It's the portion from the end of rt 128 to Rhode Island.

Speaking of 128, part of that is missing too. It's the part starting at rt 93 and ending in Gloucester.

The picture is jumpy from 2:45 to 2:59. Was that 7's problem or did your VCR skip?

  • That was most likely 7's fault. The "Hurricane Warning" super remains intact. If his VCR went haywire, you wouldn't be able to see anything at all.

  • HK is right, that is how it aired.

  • Man, Hurricane BoB when my Uncle Bob was on vacation. WLVI kids club... memories... I wasn't watching it that day, the morning my mother dragged me up to the supermarket, where everybody was making a mad dash for groceries. I saw my uncle Bob there, and i went with him for the rest of the morning getting some supplies. When I got home, the cable was out, the electricity went out soon after, and all we had was the radio. And the one tree at the end of the yard we didn't expect to fall down did.
