@randommagnum It did get hit by the wheel once...The camera survived, but the batteries were knocked out, and I lost the footage...I was pissed -- not because it hit the camera, but because I lost that footage....! ! ! But I like your idea...I have a few old cameras hanging around...I might do that. Thanks !
@grignosse If you do,you should make it so that it looks like a regular video, and at the last second, push it up...like standing up out of panic, and WHAM! That will make people jump.
I guess you might have to run a video line out of the sacrificial camera so the footage isn't lost...unless it's flash memory, which I bet could be recovered...anyway, good luck!
128 including engines...idk its hard because some are shorter cars, some have longer knuckle couplers. turning the camera was cool though, good rig you have there.
@trinityct --No, but one time the wheel hit it and it knocked the batteries out; unfortunately, I lost that footage. No, I never lost a camera, but even if I did, it's just a small Kodak Easyshare. Thanks, and enjoy my other videos as well.
I must say you've found almost the perfect spot, if NOT the perfect spot, to videotape under trains. I'm a bit envious. You really leave people guessing what exactly is going on here!! Well done!
I have done this to the cameras now days are small enough to fit in between. Its all in the lense and the angle of the camera.and the camera turning can be done by remote.
wow. I'm more worried by how close the flangs came to the camera lens! an inch to the right and it would've knocked the camera right out of your hands - or taken your hand with it!
You'd have to have been under a bridge to turn the camera like that. Ot laying under the tracks. Funny how you haven't come out with the answer the copious ammount of questions surrounding the footage after 3 minutes and 41 seconds, lol.
He's under a bridge, I think. There isn't enough room on the ground. Either way, if he did that actually being there and turning the camera, he's insane. The gap between him camera and the train couldn't have been any more than centimeters.
that's pretty fucking ballzy ! but other than that awesome video ! the first 5 seconds of the train passing over nearly gave me a heart attack ! I thought the wheel flanges would catch the camera !
how do you turn the camera so close to the wheels ?
OK... This has to be something like a Panasonic MicroCam KS102, mounted on a servo? With a midget laying between the rails. And the midget previously consumed 8 or 9 Mooseheads. Maybe more? You recruited the midget from the circus as it was passing through town.
Your formula for producing these interesting videos is the same for Dorothy in "The Wizard of Oz. Get a bunch of Munchkins drunk, and they'll do anything, to include laying on railroad track in Canada, with a tiny video camera. Now, if I can just find some Munchkins down here in Texas, I'll try to reproduce your trick videos. Munchkins and Moosehead beer, what a powerful combination! Brilliant, totally brilliant!
Man, that brings back some memories of times I had forgotten about. I remember one night when I lay down with my head beside the tracks and looked up as the train went past. MiracleSoulFlyer 4 months ago
@MiracleSoulFlyer that's fairly common with sectional rail. A lot of that is getting taken care of as railroads go to more and more welded rail.
