It's such a shame that Koreans have such great leaders/inventors of martial arts like Choi Bae and General Choi, and yet they don't showcase these great styles in the world arena of MMA. What a shame. I wish Koreans weren't so timid and shy about using these styles.
How do you know you that Oyama Kancho or Kyokushinkai "[...] never understood [...] never will." Did you train with Oyama Kancho and some of the great teachers he produced? What probable cause do you have to make those comments? Do you think the teachers of the past were "perfect"? I have reason to believe that you must transcend your cultural limitations to eliminate the personal stereotypes that plague your life.

"The ultimate aim of Karate lies not in victory or defeat but in the perfection of character of its participants." Mas Oyama never understood that and the Kyokushinkai never will.
I agree with tallhair87. Firstly nowadays karatekas don't strike like Oyama (one shot to kill) and rules limit where you can hit (ie, non-vital areas), as a result some Kyokushin-matches can last several rounds without one side falling. That's unlike how Oyama used to fight!
They leave themselves wide open because they're strong as an ox and a punch or kick to the body can't hurt them too much, (face strike is disallowed). But I respect them because they're so strong and powerful.
Kyokushin...it's strong, builds good training habits but not too technical in my experience. Usually ya spar and the other guy just trys to wail on ya, some guys leave themselves wide open; but hey if your built strong enough you can still counter attack if I hit you. Kyokushin, you've got my respect.
the name of the movie is "fighter in the wind" its based on a true story of Mas 0yama known as chao Beadeal in the movie he is the Founder of Kyokushin Karate known and provenly as the strongest karate in the world
