He was fast for that 1 test but since being injured it may take longer to get his pace back up.
True - good point. In the IPL aside from intentional slow balls he seems to be settling around the 142-149 range. It seems his average speed may have lifted since he has been playing more, as you suggested. Still; as a 34 year-old myself, I'm impressed with anyone that can still push 150 at that age! Note that the yorker that bowled Gilchrist was a 150km/h INSWINGER yorker. The yorker that bowled Ganguly was the same pace but was an OUTSWINGER. It is ridiculous to think that someone can bowl at that pace, swing the ball both ways and have such unerring precision.

Wonderful operator. Before injury he was as fast and dangerous as anything I have ever seen. A real 150K + guy. Since then sadly his speed has dropped, but he remains a wicked bowler and capable of ruining any side in international cricket.

People focus on Malinga's action because it is weird. That is ironic because his action (technically) is cleaner than most guys who bowl overarm.
But you are correct in the sense that ICC will allow bowlers to chuck provided they dont go too far with flexion like Marlon Samuels.

He isn't going to play for Hampshire because he won't get a No Objections Certificate from the NZ cricket board (because he played in the Indian Cricket League). And Shane Watson's crap. Look at Yorkshire, Morne Morkel, Hoggard, Bresnan, Adil Rashid and the dazzler himself, Goughy. Notts also have Sidebottom, Swann and Broad this season but prob won't have them much cause of England duty, also Charlie Shreck who is on the verge of being an England Lions regular.

It's a shame he joined the ICL, though no one can really blame him. He's getting millions out of it and he's not even guarenteed to play any more games for NZ with his run of injurys. It's just a shame the ICC can't sanction it so he can do both. Why he wouldn't keep going until he actualy plays in the ICL is beyond me. Money hungry ICC and BCCI.

Note that the yorker that bowled Gilchrist was a 150km/h INSWINGER yorker. The yorker that bowled Ganguly was the same pace but was an OUTSWINGER. It is ridiculous to think that someone can bowl at that pace, swing the ball both ways and have such unerring precision.

Wonderful operator. Before injury he was as fast and dangerous as anything I have ever seen. A real 150K + guy. Since then sadly his speed has dropped, but he remains a wicked bowler and capable of ruining any side in international cricket.

Thanks for the vid! Yeah I think Bond is a more complete bowler now, slower doesn't mean not as good. Sir Richard Hadlee slowed down partway through his career and went on to take over 400 test wickets.
