omg thank you so much for these video. i want to learn chinese but my school doesnt have chinese class. so all I learn is from my Chinese friends and you. xie xie :D ^^
i have to thank you so much for having this videos i been looking a lot for someone in yourtube with videos teaching chinese because i really need to learn some chinese before i travel to Taiwan, and from many videos your home teaching videos are best.!
This might help: If you are a muscian or singer, try finding the pitches(tones) on an instrument(piano), and then say it along with the instrument. Look at the other post that should gone after this one.
I hear the tones, but i can't pronounce them right..especially the second tone is the hardest for me..it always sounds like the third tone when i say it T___T
I have to agree with Mindi31. You have a clear English pronunciation. The reason why I prefer listening not native English people is beacause native speakers gabble so much. :)
Having watched the lessons again, now I feel enthused to have another go.
You make it enjoyable!

theres 5 tones actually , the last one is neutral . :D
LiSaSuKz 2 years ago
yes but the 5th tone is hardly used. plus this a lesson for begginers so learning the 5th tone will be during more knowledge of the language.
HARDCOREjude 2 years ago
yeah , but they should at least know there is a 5th tone -_-

Of course, if you use the instrument method, it may be necessary to combined or, rather, play to two or three notes to get combinations like tone 3.

Hi! I suggest you draw a diagram, mark 1-5. 1 is the lowest; 5 is the highest. Find your pitch.
1st tone: 55, high and level, do not raise or drop
2nd tone: 35, high raise
3rd tone: 214, low drop to your lowest then raise it up
4th tone: 51, drop from highest to your lowest
Practice,Practice, Practice!
