Walkin' With the Shadows track list. I bought in Israel with a cover image of all four on a bench. Side One: Walkin' All my sorrows Little B Las Tres Carabelas Fourth Street Sweet Dreams Side Two: Ranka-Chank What a lovely tune Semi-detached suburban Mr James Blue Sky, Blue Sea Blue Me Running out of this world I wish I could shimmy like my Sister Arthur
Yep, I reckon so. On the cover (blue mainly) it is named simply, The Shadows. However on the discs label (Red) it is named 'Walkin' with The Shadows'. It's on an MFP label.
My copy has a picture of the band (JH Rostill, BB and the 2 guitarists) sitting on a park bench. I think it was MfP: it has Ranka Chanka; Blue sky, Blue me; semi-detached suburban Mr James etc.
Sounds like the same tracks as mine, but with a different cover possibly. Has 'The Shadows' at the top, then a list of the album tracks, inc those you mention & 'what a lovely tune' & 'I wish I could shimmy like my sister', Then 4 'thumbnail pics of the four of em'?
Mine also has those 2 tracks as well. Personally, still a favourite collection - much stronger, rockier feel to the music, compared to the blander covers of the 1980s.
@Paul480 I have this exact album with the red label on MFP but with the other pic on the sleeve with the park bench ; i had it in 1972.When i lived in Belgium in 73 i bought a different compilation of Shads stuff that had a view of a guitar down the fretboard with strings from the brown body end.The mix of Little B on there did not have the percussive effects that appear here at 1:48, a kind of shaking and clicking over the drums but its the same 'take', just with the effects omitted from it
The Best Studio Drumsolo of all time. Brian Bennett is a very intelligent Drummer , and ahead of his time here. In My opinion there has never been since , before or after a greater Rock drummer than this man. and little B Runs with the medal as the best pop rock Drumsolo of all time. Long live Brian Bennett , and thanks for all the great inspiration you gave us with this solo and the others.
You can't beat the original version....although check out the version by The Reflections on utube, thats got to be the closest. I've been a drummer for a long time and this is a classic british drum solo

I have this on the 'Out Of The Shadows' LP from around 1962, also on The Shadows 6 CD set 'The Early Years'. 1959-1966
Brian Bennett is a genius with the drums, listen to his solo albums.
