Side One: Walkin' All my sorrows Little B Las Tres Carabelas Fourth Street Sweet Dreams Side Two: Ranka-Chank What a lovely tune Semi-detached suburban Mr James Blue Sky, Blue Sea Blue Me Running out of this world I wish I could shimmy like my Sister Arthur

  • I have this on the 'Out Of The Shadows' LP from around 1962, also on The Shadows 6 CD set 'The Early Years'. 1959-1966

Brian Bennett is a genius with the drums, listen to his solo albums.

Brian Bennett is a genius with the drums,

  • one of the best drumsolo's ever !

  • the drums of this song IS SO HARD TO DO!!

  • Retour au temps des " surprises partiesssss "

  • do you think Cream got the idea for the instrumental 'Toad' from this? E.g.

  • good stuff yes , c bon en nesti pour le temps ,bonne idee le turn table .

  • I've got a spanish edition of this vinyl... awesome!

  • I love this song!! Brings me back to my youger days lol!

  • Bestial!!

  • which album is this from? Not the one 'Walkin with The Shadows' - which is where I have my own version of Litle B???

  • Yep, I reckon so. On the cover (blue mainly) it is named simply, The Shadows. However on the discs label (Red) it is named 'Walkin' with The Shadows'. It's on an MFP label.

  • My copy has a picture of the band (JH Rostill, BB and the 2 guitarists) sitting on a park bench. I think it was MfP: it has Ranka Chanka; Blue sky, Blue me; semi-detached suburban Mr James etc.

  • Sounds like the same tracks as mine, but with a different cover possibly. Has 'The Shadows' at the top, then a list of the album tracks, inc those you mention & 'what a lovely tune' & 'I wish I could shimmy like my sister', Then 4 'thumbnail pics of the four of em'?

  • Mine also has those 2 tracks as well. Personally, still a favourite collection - much stronger, rockier feel to the music, compared to the blander covers of the 1980s.

  • Yes, I agree....... it is much more 'upbeat' than later stuff.

  • @Paul480 I have this exact album with the red label on MFP but with the other pic on the sleeve with the park bench ; i had it in 1972.When i lived in Belgium in 73 i bought a different compilation of Shads stuff that had a view of a guitar down the fretboard with strings from the brown body end.The mix of Little B on there did not have the percussive effects that appear here at 1:48, a kind of shaking and clicking over the drums but its the same 'take', just with the effects omitted from it

  • @anthonythirteen Yes i have the EXACT same copy my parents bought me in 1972 but with this red MFP label !

  • @kenfig have you still got it? I can't remember the colour of the label, I think it was red.

  • @anthonythirteen No i dont have it now but yes it was red, just like this one in this video with the same tracks on it

  • The man, the drums, the business

  • The Best Studio Drumsolo of all time. Brian Bennett is a very intelligent Drummer , and ahead of his time here. In My opinion there has never been since , before or after a greater Rock drummer than this man. and little B Runs with the medal as the best pop rock Drumsolo of all time. Long live Brian Bennett , and thanks for all the great inspiration you gave us with this solo and the others.

  • la meilleure version !!!!!

  • Merci gaf1943. Tu est vraiment vrai! Les Shadows, ROCK!

  • I prefer this solo over all others out there, it has a great tempo

  • rian is fabulous at his drum solos i love this original i have in on vinayl somewhere

  • is that on Columbia record mind is green label

  • No it's on MFP (Music For Pleasure)

    Cheers

  • You can't beat the original version....although check out the version by The Reflections on utube, thats got to be the closest. I've been a drummer for a long time and this is a classic british drum solo

  • Thanks, wiil check The Reflections too.

  • Excellent comment, could not agree more....

  • great! Thanks for posting this original Little B drum solo by Brian Bennett that I started playing when I was 13.

    Nides Aranzamendez
