  • but they are in two different position and in two different light condition. its normaly this difference.

  • This was only meant as a very basic comparison. Yes they are at different point of views but they are in the same light conditions. We were flying together on the same day as at 0.44 you can see me flying beneath him. We both flew at similar altitudes and the HD seemed to view the light differently. This is not a true comparison as a side by side shot would be. They are great cameras, unbeatable, both new and old.

  • Great. Now turn the lens more horizontally and it will be perfect.

I wish You a nice flight season and always a happy landing.

    Regards from Switzerland

  • Thanks Norbert. Not to bad for my first attempt, after taking off i noticed that the drift had twisted round a bit. Next flight i might put the camera on the inside of the outside rib. Hopefully many more flying days this summer. Regards from New Zealand.

  • Actually hard to tell any difference - does the lens on the 170 need a clean? There's a bit of glare on the first clip.

  • Lens on the 170 may have needed a clean but did improve further into the clip, it had a little light fogging earlier on. As for the difference the HD seems to bring some quite bizarre colours of which you'l see in my next vid.

  • Great stuff, that glider looks wicked. How did it go up at the Kaimai's on Saturday? Was Geoff there over the weekend from Tauranga? Who did good over the weekend? Cheers

  • Cheers. Sat was blown out all day as forecast and geoff had family time. Dave was 1st and Baz was a close 2nd.

  • Nice one mate was that on Sunday 27th, I saw a few hang gliders heading towards the Paeroas.? Looked like an awesome day for it! Did you get over the back?

  • Yep it was the sunday 27th, as part of the kaimai league. It was an awesome day although there was a low inversion at about 4,500 ft. As for going over the back....kind of as i landed on the airstrip under Mt Mo, but not really as i should have when i had the chance. The NZ nats are at the Paeroas at the end of jan, you should come fly !!
