One of Gerry's finest compositions imo. The album it's from Sleepwalking isn't one of my favourite Rafferty albums but that's just personal preference. I remember he played this song when I saw him live back in '93. Should have been included on his Very Best of from '95.

This is one of my favorite Gerry Rafferty songs, although I love so many of Gerry's songs. He is without a doubt the greatest singer and songwriter of the modern age. loloma8 is right, Gerry rarely did any live stuff.  Unfortunately now he is pretty much in seclusion which is a darn shame. This man is an incredible artist. So many singers and songwriters have been inspired by Gerry Rafferty. At least we do have his music! Thanks Gerry.

I'm a Rafferty Fan from his earliest days. Always regret that he never travelled as an artist so I have never seen him live. But his music remains among the best in the rock/soul/folk tradition and The Right Moment is one of his gems. It goes to the very heart of deeply romantic emotion in music and lyric

Amen, Titan. Well said. During Gerry's heyday, having a talent for writing meaningful songs and a voice that could deliver them actually meant something. Now it's all about image and vapid packaging, be it Lady Gaga's outrageousness or Brittney Spears' [former] sex appeal. Actually having real talent has been lost in the shuffle. It's both sad and sickening that Lady Gaga is a household name while Gerry Rafferty, a brilliant songwriter and beautiful voice, is relegated to relative obscurity.
