  • Don't you at least hate the MUSIC?!?! That is CRUD compared to the SNES version!!!

  • @Tomar177 the snes's music was the best. but everything else suffered in that game.

hey maybe they might re-make doom with updated visuals.

(doom 3 looks good, but compared to doom isnt as good)

  • The Atari Jaguar version is better but this one is Good

  • I have the iPod app it's very fun

  • If you have a controller with a MODE button, it makes it fucking amazing

  • I had this game... could've been a lot better.

  • what the f*** did they do the music

  • Beat Doom for 32X, receive DOS command prompt.

  • The music quality wasn't the problem with this version. It was the lack of levels and the letterboxed view.

  • You forgot to mention how much the music and screen size sucks compared to the PC version...

  • I have doom on gba

  • i've got doom on my blackberry playbook!

  • defenitly buy it on xbox 360 instead of sega32X.. but for some reason i cant find it anymore on marketplace, i already have it but now i only see doom 2

  • @RepaleoN its free for PC lol

  • The music quality sucked compared to the SNES!

  • DOOM FOR 3DS!!!!

  • I love how many posters keep talking about the SNES ver having better music. If this was a soundtrack that'd be important, turns out it's game and just about any version is better than the SNES version. It's an old game and you can get it for maybe 5 bucks online now and ANY PC can handle it. And more importantly it's the best version.

  • @Snotnarok The soundtrack is important, though. Bobby Prince made one of the most memorable game soundtracks of all time. Each track is based on a heavy metal song. I remember first noticing the distinct Pantera influence.

  • @IggyHazard Yes I get music is important in a game but when said game is a poor port that doesn't run as well as the other versions, it makes it a bad game with good music. I'm pretty sure there's a mod for PC doom to put the SNES music on it or just redone metal tunes. There's literally no reason to play SNES Doom.

  • @Snotnarok I never cared for the Super NES version, myself. My favorite game on that system was 'Out of This World'.

  • @IggyHazard Fantastic game, I preferred Flashback: Quest For Identity mostly because it was a bit nicer to me haha. But both are fantastic, and should be better known.

  • @Snotnarok Flashback was my fave on Genesis. I'd played two versions of 'Out of This World' (Super NES first, then Genesis) and three versions of Flashback (Genesis first, then Sega CD, then Super NES). I found that I liked the Super NES version of 'Out of This World' and the Genesis version of Flashback. Never played the Amiga versions of either.

  • InecomCompany>CGRundertow

  • Worst music ever :P The snes music was a lot better.

  • Mod your xbox1 and get ODAMEX and play online in 720p

  • I think Mark likes using the shotgun.

  • @PhillyBlunt6988 It's Doom lol, who doesn't love the shotgun?

  • @LibertyCityMayhem95 I was being sarcastic lol....anyway I prefer the plasma rifle.

  • Surprisingly, one of the better ports of doom in the mid 90's in terms of graphics was actually the Atari Jaguar one.

  • @DarkShadow5415 Actually, the Jaguar version was THE best version. The SNES and Game Boy versions were the worst. The 3DO and 32X versions are the same as the Jaguar version, only dumbed-down. In the case of the 32X, most of the game code is the same, but its missing a number of levels and there is a border around the screen.

  • @EkajTheSwordsman

jaguar doesnt have music only sound fx

  • pc its the best... second its ps1 or snes

  • @chupicidio No; the SNES version is blurry, unresponsive, moves in slow motion, has muddy graphics and awful hit detection. The best is PC or Xbox Live Arcade, then Jaguar, then 3DO or 32X.

  • How's ur penis?

  • i do,nt see why many fans are sooo negative about this version, ,m mean COMMON,aside shitty music, it has all great correct funny sound effects,16 levels,(including all my favorite ones),smooth instance response controls wich is very inportant, has cheats, good graphics.

the snes version has bad response control, bad & limmited soundeffects, dark muddy graphics, you, can,t shoot 2 guy's atonce, has poor fysics, poor hit detecting,it,s hard in an unfair way to play it,only the music is great.

  • this was the first version of doom i ever played, in 1998. i was a bit behind

  • I still play DOOM, never get bored of the original games but I love the WADs people create too.

  • Everyone, wanna play Doom 1 and 2 online? (Multiplayer) Then go to either Skulltag.com! Its been out for so long and its so fun, it also has enhanced graphics! It looks great, it plays smoothly and its ultra fun! Im advertising this cause i've known it for about 6 years now, and its really fun and addictive, it has tons of mods, Co-op and Deathmatch modes like Capture the Flag, Free for All and tons of more mods, if you like Doom you'll love it!

  • my friend had a box containing 2 sega genises, 1 32x, 2 sega cds, and a bunch of games and didnt know it and didnt care!!!!!!!! and now he tortures me with them

  • my first, and most played game on the 32X. I love it to bits, to bits, to bits.

  • Was obsessed with this game on the pc in the 1990s

  • The grafics were very good, but the music sucked, but I still played the shit out of it

  • it worked great on the snes for me

  • Doom 1 and 2 on PC are the best games ever. No battlefield, COD, Gears, Dead Space, bioshock, fear or any other game series/titles will ever be as good or worth while to play than Doom 1 and 2. Best 2 games ever.

  • @PianoXfan1 True stuff bro. You can literally play DOOM on single player FOREVER and not get bored. The best console version is the PS1 version, but yea PC is the ultimate version.

  • It's 2011 and I'm still playing DOOM in my PC. Long life to the FPS's king!

  • @XLeonhart1982 Ha, me too. Ive had all my Dooms and Wolf3D's out lately - that time of year again right? :)

  • i love 32x it works it not slaggie

  • I had this as long as I can remember, had it on DOS, PS1, Xbox (inc. in Doom3) and then I downloaded it onto my 360. Doom all the way man love the crap out of this game

  • I still play the XBLA version sometimes and it rocks. After about half an hour i forget how dated the graphics are because the gameplay is just so damn good.

  • I have the gamboy version. I thought it woild be awful but its actually betterthan most versions on big old consoles.

  • THANK YOU FRANK!

  • there was an unofficial remake version for the snes cuzz some one managed to screeze the 32x hardware alongside an sfx2 chip inside an cart module and a sound module,it was supposed to be hand made produced and to be sold on ebay but it,s cancled during rain drops by his house.

sad their video,s here are deleted but that version was perfect.!!!

  • This port would have been much better if they took their time with this port, rather then rushing it..I don't understand why it was rushed though

  • I have doom 64 :]

  • The Doom shat all over a 10 year old, and the 10 year old puked in a bowl of candy

    then Halo was born

  • Review the PSX version, it's really good!

  • i have DOOM for the PS1 it's awesome!!!!!!

  • @KolerikRocks Same! The PS1 port of Doom is one of the best In my opinion. With death match, co-op and a 50 + level single player, its my Favourite port by miles.

  • I agree Doom is awesome bud! Doom has realistic blood, guts and gore.

  • @ChappaGaming PSOne port is overrated. The music is irritating and certain areas are too dark that weren't that dark in the original PC version. No thanks.

  • I prefer the graphics of this port... problem is, horrible sound, 10 less levels. No wonder the BEST port was the one for Atari Jaguar. Not gonna mention the SNES, because the SuperFX chip sucked ass, and the framerate of that version was shit.

  • I'd rather have the pixeleted graphics of the SNES and getting more levels, the ability to strafe (with L and R) and awesome music.

  • @HCkev Heil SNES

  • @HCkev It's not that the graphics were a little bit worse. You literally can't tell if you're hitting something or not, it's like an atari game. And the controls suck

  • @HCkev ok nintendo fan boy

  • @HCkev Plus better audio quality. I loved the SNES port because it was fun, even though it was like playing Doom on ulra-low res. lol.

  • Thankfully people make/sell improved mixing cables to connect the 32x to either Model 1/2 Genesis/MegaDrive, and the CDX/XEye.

  • Man I do not get shooters. This game looks like such a boring thing to play even back in the day when it was new.

It would just be cool to understand just why people consider this game to be so great cause just watching it I just don't get it.

  • @shadowhexogram Well, of course it looks boring, YOU'RE NOT THE ONE PLAYING IT ! :P

  • @shadowhexogram

Don't nock it till ya try it XD

  • I got a 32X with this and Virtua Racer for Christmas years and years ago. Loved it - only all the games were about £70 on launch so I didn't get any other games after that. Eventually traded those items with a MD copy of Rock 'n Roll racing with my friend for a Raleigh Activator 2. Ah...memories!

  • I am disappointed no chainsaw.

  • I am disappointed no chainsaw.

  • I am disappointed no chainsaw in the review.

  • I am disappointed no chainsaw in the review.

  • The psx version was the best port of DOOM even better then the pc version. The PSX also was the only console to port FINAL DOOM.

  • I dont know what you people are saying the psx and ps1 are different things

  • @melgibsonsballs no, there not. same thing

  • @Kerplunk990 no a psx is a ps2 dvd burner released in japan ,not a ps1

  • @44automag117 thanks for deleting your comments dumb shit.

  • @44automag117 actually the psx plays ps1 and ps2 games so well your wrong

  • THE PSX VERSION IS THE BEST BECAUSE OF THE SOUND. IT FEATS THIS GAME PERFECTLY.... I APPOLOGIZE FOR MY BAD ENGLISH. CHEERS.

  • @44automag117 CHINGAS A TU MADRE PENDEJO. I LIKE IT THAT WAY.

  • @44automag117 CHINGAS A TU MADRE PENDEJO. I LIKE IT THAT WAY.

  • @44automag117 Ps1 and Psx are the same thing... and if your telling him to turn off caps lock, why is your caps lock on?

  • Comment removed

  • @44automag117 "The PlayStation, officially abbreviated as PS; unofficially referred to as the PSX or PS1)" straight from Wikipedia... and your being a hypocrite when you caps lock like that trolololol.

  • this is the only old school game system game youve ever madde thats GOOD everything else is JUNK

  • one problem. music is SHIT!

  • @fartknocker97 and just being generally bland. Even though the SNES version had technically inferior graphics, it managed to have more flare with textures that weren't so repetitive as well as more decorative crap around.

Just compare the room near the start with the armor, the SNES version has lamps and tech pillars, neither of which the 32x version has. Guess they just had to rush it so they stripped stuff out to make it technically work without having to touch the actual graphics engine.

  • i can watch your reviews all day and sit with cookies

  • i can watch your reviews all day and sit with cookes

  • Or get doom 2 for the xbox 360.

  • i have doom ds you need the r4i and they stoped allowing people to downlooad it but the thimg that sucks is there is 1 chapter

  • why is his voice deeper all of a sudden. its like the reverse of sucking in helium

  • I have both doom for the 32x and the cord to connect it but the playntrade closed while they where repairing my 32x and wouldn't give it back!

  • a screen with in the screen. nice! -_-

  • I like this intro

  • what about the ps1 version its the best one

  • @godpointer agreed

  • @godpointer no PC was the best

  • @christian661199 Dur, ya think? It's like saying Lamborgini is a faster car than a Cavalier

  • @christian661199 It really was; you can see omissions, changes and technical weaknesses even in this video (such as alpha textures). However, for a console release in 94, this is by FAR the best non-PC release of the day.

Of course all the ports now (iPhone, Android) are from the PC version so are just as good as the original PC - but PC still holds the edge as it has upgraded Doom engines with better multiplayer and new graphic features. So PC STILL wins.

  • youtube.com/watch?v=-JxuZyR1IKA

  • Doom 1 and 2 on PC using GZDoom, i use a 360 controller and it works fantastic

  • Mark has lost his voice in this review :D

  • dude i wish i could find a 32x i love star wars arcade

  • it doesnt look smooth at all. the jaguar version looks way smoother and it was fullscreen, still sucks compared to de DOS version of course.

  • you know whats bad in the doom on sega 32x?

    background music -.-

  • @retuy1234 better than atari jaguar music

  • Doom in this version seems faster than snes ones...but a game without good soundtracking in NOT a oldschool game...you must agree too!!!

  • You can also get doom for the iPhone/iPod touch/iPad and the gameplay is very smooth and even looks better than the pc version

  • the 32x is better than everyone thinks

  • Graphics and (music are outstanding for this game)

    Is that a sarcasm?

  • DooM is the best......Nuff said.

  • Gameplay is still better than SNES version.

  • Doom for the 3DS

  • Doom on 32X was my very first experience with Doom and it will always have a nostalgic factor at least for that reason. That was before I got into PC gaming. The Super NES version had better music because the Super NES had a better sound card than the Genesis. Not sure if the 32X had its own sound card. If it did, you'd think the quality of the music in Doom would at least be on-par with Doom on Super NES. Sega CD, being a CD system, had excellent music capability (ex.: 'The Terminator').

  • @IggyHazard

I don't know too much about the 32X's audio either, but I've heard you could get music at least on par with the SNES. It just happened to be poorly documented and really difficult to take advantage of, so they just relied purely on the Genesis for audio. Worse, Doom was badly rushed to meet the 32X's launch.

  • @dunnono00 Is that why it was letterboxed? I never understood why they did that. The Super NES version wasn't letterboxed.

  • @IggyHazard

I imagine that's the case. I think they reduced the screen size in the SNES one too, it's just not as apparent because there's no background graphic. The main thing is that SNES Doom isn't actually running on the Doom engine. It was a custom engine specifically designed for the SNES. It also came out almost a year after the 32X one, so they had more time to work on it.

  • We need this on the Wii VC!!!

  • 32X was awesome back in the day, I remember playing Doom and Star Wars and some mech game called MetalHead or something like that.

Then they never made any more games for 32X.

Then in 2002 Xbox 1 had Steel Battalion, another high priced cool toy that had 1 game for it. Crazy stuff

  • this is dooooom

  • Interesting music for Doom... I think E1M3 on this video didn't sound bad. It just sounded like nostalgic ambient classic eerie music that I came to know and love... Except not quite the same quality at all.

  • doom on the 32x is by the way the hardest of all released versions, because the enemies are always facing and then chasing you. due to memory problems, there are no back or side views of the enemies - just the dangerous frontal one :)

  • play dukenukem

  • I always play this on my pc for free no download go to google type in doom triple pack and click tje first link. The bad thing is no music

  • I accidentally marked this video as inappropriate. So if this gets removed, can you please upload this video again? Thanks

  • The thing that I always love in Doom, is that the glitch (maybe a glitch I don't know) where enemies will attack each other. It's easy work for me and it's funny

  • pity anyone who missed out on the pc version of this game

  • My laptop isn't really built for gaming, and I have hardly any space left (25GB). These days I can't launch Team Fortress 2 or Portal 2 without a blast of hot air coming out. Until I buy a Proper Gaming laptop, I'm pretty much stuck with Doom (and other Doom engine games). Thats not bad thing though, because its amazing.

  • The real way to play Doom, is on the pc

  • @LibertyCityMayhem95 yup no xbox version, no iphone. THE FREAKIN PC

  • @LibertyCityMayhem95 Or on Mac. Same game, WADS to try, etc.

But I think both versions are too old for OSX or Windows 7. So I use the DOS version of Doom on DOSBox.

  • @cuttock DoomBuilder ftw

  • @cuttock You don't need to use the DOS version. You can use a source port. Doom Legacy is my personal favorite(it has an option to use more advanced maps and has a splitscreen mode for 2 players). Risen3D is also a great port, as it uses fully 3D graphics.

  • @LibertyCityMayhem95 I give you two tumbs up :)

  • @Mr234Wtf ;)

  • @LibertyCityMayhem95 ...and xbox

  • @NanoSuitUser059 What part of "The real way to play Doom, is on the pc" did you not understand?

  • This was good for it's time and fun, too bad it had huge borders.

I nearly bought a Jaguar for Full screen Doom

BTW 3DO Doom was really bad!!!

  • Am I the only one here that notices the 32X uses the same z80 chip and the genesis? The music is horrible compared to the PC. Also the window is smaller. Anyone that played the PC version would pretty much hate all console versions, even the Jaguar version sucked bad.

  • @GPVlog Yap, Doom was baddass on PC, it was my first PC game, and I started with a great game

But Mark is a fanboy, we can't do nothing about that xD

  • @GPVlog I played the PC version and still loved the SNES version. o.o

  • this game used to scare the shit outta me when i was a kid. and yes, on 32x!

  • Could you get Uninvited for the NES?

  • @nhoodfan Yeah.... what a classy... I remember spending hours finding the right items to proceed.

  • okay i want the whole doom game including all 4 episodes plus tnt/evilution and plutonia and i want doom 2 with the master levels, and i want no missing levels, basically i want all possible doom 1 and 2 levels i can play, is there such a thing that exists that has all the levels?

  • @jubjub444

Go on steam and get them.

  • @TrueGamerNET isnt there some package on steam that includes all of these?

  • @jubjub444

Yep, there's a deal which includes every single doom (ultimate doom, doom 2, final doom, master levels, doom 3, doom 3 ressurection of evil) for a better price. You can always buy them standalone, for more.

  • @jubjub444

Yep. Theres a pack with every single doom game ever (including master levels, final doom, ultimate doom, doom II, and Doom 3/Ressurection of evil. All for a reduced price.

  • i just bought the 32x in original box with all paperwork and buisness replies and this game for 40 bucks! good deal

  • The SNES version wasn't THAT bad.

  • @QUAKE495 are you serious? This port may be flawed, but at least it's playable. The SNES one runs at 10 fps,has laggy controls, and you can't see into the distance. The 32X version wins by default

  • @therangersrule68 I've played it before, and it ran fine.

  • @QUAKE495 On real hardware or emulation? Because all super fx games run much faster in emulation.

  • @therangersrule68 Emulation, but I've also seen gameplay of real hardware, and, ur right, but it's still just as fun as the other versions.

  • Sega 32X Doom: Sounds Like Shit Compared to Original

Super Nintendo Doom: Looks Like Shit Compared to Original

Fuse them together to make a Doom that Sounds and Looks like shit....Doo-DooM!

  • to bad inecomecompany wont do a review of doom 2

  • IDDQD IS IMMORTALITY...

  • This actually came free with the 32x I recently bought. Looks fun!

  • i can't decide, which i had more fun with...wolfenstein 3D or doom...

  • IDDQD and stfu xD

  • yeap bet that game . hope they make doom 4 .

  • I want to donate something to CGR now. :|

  • dude the freakin music sounds crapy and off tune

  • the jaguar port was the best console port

  • @HerrGubba I preffer SNES doom, even with its large issues, i find the texture work of the SNES is truer to the original givign the environments a less bland feel, whereas the 32x, jaguar and GBA all kept things brown and grey. (Yuck!) The only things i dont like about the snes port are: No save features (passwords, battery save), Laggy frame-rate, and no Circle-straffing unless you learn to to it with a combo of tapping the D-pad and l or r button.

  • If you want a good console port of doom, I would get the Sega Saturn IMPORT. Remember how I said import and not the laggy US version.

  • Why is it that I think the narrator would be epic as Duke Nukem's voice actor?
