It's not clear that this sheep was being killed just because this soldier wanted to vent some "pent up rage". While this is not the best way to do this, how do we know the sheep wasn't going to be that night's dinner for a whole village, and the soldier was killing the animal to be butchered in the only way they could think of?
Killing the animal with a knife quickly and cleanly is something that takes skill and practice. I'd like to see more facts come in before passing judgement.

@dawes777 The military justice system isn't perfect either. Given that wars are going on, and most often than not, they have losers and shining examples of horrible men, who commit heinous acts. There are still HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of marines, army, navy, air force, and coast guard who shine as examples of good conduct and military discipline. No army has ever had the shining example of a disciplined army. Desertion, crime, and lack of justice was always difficult in warfare.

And additionally we are not the only ones with bases around the world. I am positive that almost every western European country has at least one base outside their borders. Killing the animal with a knife quickly and cleanly is something that takes skill and practice. I'd like to see more facts come in before passing judgement.

First of all, militaries are established to invade foreign sovereign lands, of which they have no moral, ethical or legal right to do so. A military should only be used to protect its own state, nothing else. As for the SEALs in Somalia, they had no lawful right to be there. Period!

A Swedish man and American woman were kidnapped, and SEAL team six saved them without casualties on their side and without harm to the captives. Naturally, Obama ordered this to be executed, and the way it was done was due in large part, to the discipline, courage, and specialty of the Navy SEAL. @dawes777 We were isolationist during World War I and II. Do you not have an inkling of warfare and the many reasons why the U.S. is always pulled in? Somalia was a clustercrap of war lords, Muhammad Farah Aidid being the main cause in Mogadishu. Genocide and famine on a biblical scale, and even then we were there to ensure UN aid was recieved by the populace. When the Marines left, Aidid declared war on the remaining UN forces there. We were then ordered to eliminate him.

And additionally we are not the only ones with bases around the world. I am positive that almost every western European country has at least one base outside their borders. And good to those 737 bases outside, better to react to an attack, and focus our efforts on our enemies. Yet, they are not there to usurp foriegn powers.

I have a moral fiber, but seriously, given the situation, where they are at, and what Afghans usually eat, I'm pretty sure the goat was going to end up dead one way or another.
