I realize they left Magus out of the trailer because he's an optional character, but it would have still been nice to see him in there somewhere.

Yeah. Akira Toriyama is the character designer for Chrono Trigger, as well as the creator of the Dragonball franchise.

He also did the art for all the Dragon Warrior/Dragon Quest games.

@commirevo89 Even better, Toriyama got together with the "Father" of Final Fantasy and Nobuo Uematsu and they made Blue Dragon...Which is actually the only reason I wanna get it.

Chrono Trigger, not much to say besides that it's probably the best RPG of all time. I have it for the SNES, Unfortunately I don't have a DS.

It is exactly the same, but with a few enhancements, like new translation, thta only aims to fix up errors, and not change much. New modes, new ending, new touch layout, or you can still use classic layout. I'll get the game soon, I dunno which layout, it'll be my first time playing it.

You have classic layout just like the old days, but with an additional map on the bottom, or you have touch layout, just battle screen on top, and controls on bottom.

You can be sure of that. The song was shown on the Dimensional Vortex trailer, in other words, the song is going to appear on the game, as same as the Battle 2 song.

It doesn't look that much different from the SNES. The theme sounds slightly a step up from the SNES if not identical.

i don't think so... the VC is basically an emulator; if you look for the Chrono Trigger (SNES) rom, is not as heavy as other games (2.94 mb).

My guess that Chrono Trigger is coming to the DS is because Nintendo probably thought that the game would take up most of the Wii's memory for the VC. Maybe that's why they turned it into the DS version just to add some new features.

they did it so they could get $35 for each ds copy rather than $8 on the vc.
