if its 24 " its a bit harder to tune it down to A but if you have 0.11 strings and you have good tension on the neck its should work

or you could buy 7 string set and not mount the

0.11 but you mount all the others you kan amost play all song by korn on a 6 string but its harder with a 6 string but its up to what your used to

I use a .058 and it sounds just like them. The gauge doesn't really matter for the lower strings, most of their higher notes go though effects of some sort anyways.

And I believe that the top string of a 7 string guitar is the same as the bottom string of a bass guitar.
