  • This guy really love power wheels fuk oh I know y he failed on modding real cars lmao!

  • mine almost caught on fire

  • Hey nice video!

Can you tell me is there any way to combine 6v and a 18v battery to get 24v powerwheels ?

  • dat looks sooo ghetto!!

  • lotta time on your hands bro, pretty cool though, you could start a business

  • @maddan76 yeah I could.... modifiedpowerwheels perhaps? Anyway were are my blue gloves?

  • howd u do the lights? and is there a chart for the battery to battery?

  • Of course the motors are going to wear out faster...just like in a race car. Do you exzpect a top fuel dragster to go 150,000 miles, no, you expect it to go fast. pw modding isn''t cheap!!

  • dude this is still for pussys !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im putting 5hp engine on my little bros jeep, iv done metal frame and evrything lol 8.7mph compared to like 40 i know who will win

  • @georgequinn12 why dont you just buy/build a go kart at that rate, your just keeping the powerwheels frame/plastic body so i wouldnt call purists pussies, just reasonable people trying to get a few more mph.

  • Good job. I took my daughter's power wheels Barbie Jeep and jumped it from 12 V up to 18 V. Then I gave it real working headlights, tail lights, and the finnishing touch was a real working car horn with a honking button in the center of the steering wheel. She is nearly 7 now and STILL likes riding in it. Peace and happy modding.

  • would a car battery work

  • @chubbyllama7 A car batt would work, but it would quickly die. That battery is not designed for the continuous power draw of an electric motor. Now, if you rebuilt the chassis, placed TWO car batts, a power reg and alternator, replaced the little OEM motors with a, er, wait a minute. Maybe we should just start from scratch.

  • @Deke101 lol agreed or buy a gas powered (device)

  • @chubbyllama7 not well, as well as heavy and will die fast

  • you should take out the original batt, and but in 3x 12v

  • i had one bought from a yard sale and tore it down to bare shell and wheels for down hill fun.

  • @7062646896 that the way to go, or just add a engine. Electric is for pussy's

  • @georgequinn12 Electric is for pussy's what? Huh? Oh, you mean electric is for pussies. Well, anyway, take a look at this and you might change your mind.

    watch?v=3UOToi0fHNs

  • lol read my other comment

  • @georgequinn12 You didn't watch the video I recommeneded. I thought you were talking about electric in general.

There are two different types of Power Wheels Modders. Purists who don't want to lose the integrity of the original vehicle and bashers who don't care about the original vehicle. Bashers will make metal frames, gas motors, rubber tires. Basically build a whole kart and put a Power Wheels body on it.

I wouldn't call Purists pussies just because they stay within certain perameters.

  • did you upgrade the motors cause wouldnt the 12 volt motors burn up in time

  • 24V dosent kill the brushes or contacts in 12V motors?

  • I am sure it would wear the motors if the gearboxes didn't melt first.

  • Think so? Well if its going to be used for robotic purposes with small runs at a time and short distances we should be fine right? Maybe just stay with 18V to be safe? Just want more power and quicker pickup not really going for speed here.

  • how much money are we talking here?

  • you sir are a genius

  • actually you can get some lipos but there mega expensive

  • @amdintelxsniperx LiPO's are very unstable too..

  • lipos are not unstable. i use lipos in my RC's. the only way a lipo will catch fire is if you puncture it, or over-charge it. those same things will cuase most types of batteries to catch fire or explode. when handled correctly lipos are as safe as any other type of battery.

  • I ws just thinking in terms of daisy-chaning a bunch of em and just doing a plain ole 12v charger. It would "most likely" be ok, but it sure would suck to have them let go whilst charging in your garage ; )

  • I use the timer like he has for basic safety, but I also have a thermal disconnect feature to turn off the charger if either the battery or charger starts to overheat

  • Now THATS what im talkin' about! ; )

  • They should make Lithium Ion batterys that size. ;) lol

  • Try a car battry.

  • The batteries we use are always SLA (Sealed Lead Acid). Car batteries are not sealed and really heavy. Car batteries are made for a shorter burst of power to start the car and then a low draw of power down to say 95% full at all times. SLAs are made to go to nearly 0% before a recharge. Perhaps a Golf Cart battery, but still all sorts of heavy and acid spilling on kids. Not good.

  • I'm going to do this to my son's power wheel this weekend. Thanks for the video

  • I hear a lot about problems with the gears after this mod, but there is obviously a way to reduce the delivery initially to build up to max torque... when you want that... but who cares.. kids like to hit it and do burnouts too.

  • Yeah the burn outs save the gears. Everyone wants to add rubber tires to this one and it just kills the gears. In this case the gears overheat.

  • if u have the 12 volt power wheels can u do this without burning up the motor

  • not likely. seriously. 24V will kill your powerwheels

  • how? whereing out the motor? how long will it take to wear out?

  • @minicoppergpiscool Go 18v and just keep an eye on the heat your motors produce...could last forever!

  • Are these batteries connected in series or parrallel?

  • parallel

  • They are connected in series. Connecting them in parallel would just give you a longer run-time.

  • sorry, someboy could traduce this information to spanish ??? thanks from mexico city,

  • your a cool dad

  • that's awsome thanks i'm gonna try that on my brothers kids harley bike. do you have any advice before i do it any comments or help will help me out

  • i just did the same i added 2 12v battery its fast thanks for th info..

  • Careful, this tends to limit the life of the gears...
