  • Hi do you know where I can get a benchmite 2 now that it is discontinued

  • The cut-out on the handle looks a bit phallic.

  • 310AG-02 Benchmite Damasteel Ltd. Edition...my dream benchmade...i cant get past the irish theme, and levitator lock :) ...but at 400$ i think it deserves to be an auto like the 3100 series

  • For some reason there afraid of knives? I love you cutlery lover but that's dumb, knives are weapons too

  • @chrisycee everyone ion the planet uses knives an in most cases every single day...if it was a bomb I would understand, but knives are part of all of our lives everyday

  • @cutlerylover YOU REPLIED TO ME! :), all im saying is that i think its reasonable for people to be afraid of knives, as you could kill them with even this small knive easily... <3

  • @chrisycee Are you also afraid of bare hands, pens, golf clubs, baseball bats, ice picks, glass bottles, or hard covered books?

Hell even a newspaper could kill someone if you used it right.

  • @stratelite i am afraid of ice picks, baseball bats and glass bottles if theyre in the hands of a stranger walking down my street! your point is kind of unfair, by that logic i should be afraid of my pillow. i want to repeat that i think theres nothing wrong with knives but that it is reasonable for people to be scared of them as they are possible of killing them in seconds.

  • @chrisycee And remember, knives are only a weapon if you intend to use them in that way.

  • @OTBxTrains true, but if they dont know you they have no idea what your intentions are

  • @chrisycee screw em..lol

  • Correcting my old comment, the correct name of the buck knife is the metro.

  • The smallest knife i've ever seen is the Buck Whittaker, its even smaller than the SOG Micron, its NOT made in china, and the blade is razor sharp out of the box! And for only 15 bucks, Its a great deal (and it even comes with a bottle opener!) !

  • Sold me on this one man good job. I was thinking of getting a protech runt or stinger, was even looking at a benchmade impel.

  • Comment removed

  • @znicholson22

I can't see why they decided to discontinue the awesomely popular reds.

  • not at my old intermediate/high school in HI, since we the small school had to take care of the native trees and such on campus as a cultural thing they let us use the school's weed eaters, machetes and pull saws. Or you could bring you own

  • they have hd levitators theyre just like the benchmite but has a money clip/ pocket clip.

  • This or the ladybug i can get the ladybug about the same price.

  • how do you spell the site????

  • is that knife spring assisted? cuz i was playing with a benchmite and it was assisted opening

  • :D! Benchmite! I have an aversion to tiny knives, but this one's all cute 'n' stuff. I could find a use for this. Up for consideration. Thanks, dude.

  • Thanks for all these excellent reviews.

    Cheers,

    Jesse

  • Good review.

  • can u use the auto benchmites back spring to create an auto benchmite with out the trouble of finding an auto version

  • want to make a trade?

  • I'll trade you a Blastoise and a Chancey for a Dragonite.

  • I also have this knife on my keys. It's really nice and cute.

    nice review

  • mrsp lol

  • I had this one before. I loved it as an EDC pocket knife. Sucks that I lost it. Havent got another one yet.

  • That's the thing with small knives, THEY ALWAYS GET LOST. I lost my keychain balisong, victorinox classic, mini bowie knife, and many others.

  • what are you doing that you loose that many knives?

  • Mostly sitting on the couch.

  • move the couch?

  • dam that is a cool knife! does benchmade make a larger version (like 3inch blade) or a larger knife with this same type of locking mechanism?

  • please keep the comments clean jeff works very hard on and off the camera and deserves more respect than that seriously

  • damn, i was gonna put this on my daily school chain, im a high schooler D:

  • i seen this knife and i asked to see it at this store and its a good knife

  • Wow, i have been carrying my knife with me in school. I thought it was okay if it was under 3in, i guess i'll leave it at home now.haha

  • im my state MASS you cant carry a knife into a bank post office or school same with a gun you can bring it anywhere else

  • sog fusion micron is smaller :)

  • i iwsh england made a good knife, munus a few bushcraft knifes i cant find any nice English ones.

  • I notice you know have this on your key ring. Is it hard to carry this on your keyring? Does it get in the way? Was it hard to attach to your keys?

  • do you know any smaller knives than this benchmade bitemite II? :O

    thanks!

  • yeah theres alot out there, I think this is benchamdes smallest though...look up Al Mar knives they make a few models that are tiny!

  • alright thanks!! :D

  • i know the smallest knife i saw is the SOG Micron! :P

  • lol yeah that woudl be considered a small knife, haha...Not sure how small you want to go, but alot of palces sell a fixed blades thats cut froma penny, even has handle scales, lol...search penny knife...

  • about the benchmite, why is the black more expensive? :P

thanks! sorry im not good with knives loll :P

  • black modesl are more expensive for any knife because its just another step and process and more materials for the company to use...

  • I wish i could get it for only $30. Here in Holland its listed for 40 euro's which is about $50. I imagine if i buy it online i still have to pay import taxes which might be even more then the 40 euro's here :/

  • You can flick it out with a handmovement, try it...

  • im sorry i asked if it was sharp because u sayd it was but my speakers were broken so i didnt know srry my apologies:)

  • i like that steel because i have a zytel tilite from cold steel and i like the steel doesnt hold an edge very well but is very easy 2 sharpen and i like sharpening knives lol and i found a site where i can get it 4 30$ that a good price?

  • thanks but does it also keep an edge good or not so good?

  • blade steel on this one is AUS-8 which is decent, not the best but used on many knives that sell for a bit more, it holds an edge similar to 440C, its good, but again not the best...keep price in mind here though..

  • sharp?

  • yes very, small blade but certianly sharp from the factory...

  • im hopfully going to get a benchmade benchmite 2 p.s. great review

  • i got it today and im happy with the quality

  • how thick is it?

  • about a quater inch or so...

  • ok thanks it needs to be thin so i can carry it comfortably and not have non knife people down the street being "knife knife!"

  • After i saw these review i bought on for my girlfriend. Now finally she has a good quality knife and doesn´t have to ask me for a knife for every day tasks ;-)

Thanks man nice review as always.

  • knives and fire you say? my favorite mix

im thinking of getting one of these to counterpart my kershaw scallions what i cant tell from your video is the edge is it a chisel edge or something else?

today at my work my benchmade LFK scared my coworkers so this would be a nice change they would aprreciate i dont see why knives wouldnt be a tool ive used my knives countless times and never as a weapon

  • no, the scallion is no chisel ground, I mean any serratiosn you get will be chisel ground, so if you geta combo edge with serratiosn, the serrated part will be, but thwe plain edge is not...

  • i have two scallions and i know there not chisel edge im asking if the benchmite is chisel edge

edge type is a very important thing most of the times and most knife selling websites dont post it in there specs

  • oh ok, sorry for the missunderstanding, no this is not chisel either...this has a regular V ground edge, bevel even on both sides if I had to guess probably set at 22 degrees per side...Yeah siotes shoukld tell that info as well edge angle, grind, etc...

  • thankyou for your information much appreciated i couldnt realy tell from youtubes low definiton videos this knife is definatly on my list

  • Very awesome video. I like thie knife but honestly the two hand open is a deal killer. My main reason for commenting is, The way you go into state laws and explain certain things. More people need to hear that. Kudos to you.

  • I just saw one of these in auto. Awesome, I need to find one.

  • it*

  • would i be illegal to bring a swisscard into a police building ?

  • Probably but if your not doing anythgin wrong then no, to be honest I had to be fingerprinted when I started my job and I forgot I had my EDC on me a larger folder clipped to ym pcoket the cop said to me when he was standing there, you know your not suppos to have that in here, I was like, oh crap, Im sorry, hes like dotn worry about it...if your a threat its just that thats another charge they cna add to whatever they are charging you for to begin with you know...

  • a knife is ok in the right hands, its idiots that hav gav ppl that impression

  • Yes the few that soil it for the rest of us...but ina world with so mnay guns I cant see why peoe are still affraid of knives in the 1st place?

  • I saw a version of this on a website that was converted to an auto for around $100 more than its original price. I decided instead of getting one very expensive knife, I might get a few less expensive ones: Griptilian, Ka-Bar Dozier, Benchmie II, and a Cold Steel ti-lite. Or maybe only one or two of those...either way I'm very exited to experience some knives other than my Leek :)

  • Yeah, Benchmade makes an automatic version of this knife...your right...but its by then not an aftermarket job...

  • that would really kick ass if that knife had a money clip on the side. i would buy it in a heart beet!!! i wonder if benchmade takes suggestions??

  • perhaps...If you email them

  • Hi there, awesome review! I bet you know a lot about knives ^^

I really like the Benchmite, especially it's slim and compact design, but the blade is a little bit so short for me...

Do you know a knive you would recommend that is also slim and compact, but has a blade about 7cm (2,8 inch)?

Oh and it doesn't have to be a one hand opening knife.

    thank you for help :-)

  • There are hundreds if not thousands of knives that fit that description, lol, if you send me a message with some more info on what kind of knife your lookign for I cna help you find a good one and in your rpice range...just let me know what brand you might be interested in as well...thanks!

  • Benchmade makes a few knives that would fit your bill. Take a look at the Griptilian or the Mini-Dejavoo.

  • Hey thanks for your help! I like the Griptilian but i found out that there's a stupid law here in germany which prohibits a knife that you can open with one hand :-(

Do you know some knives where you need both hads to open it?

The Benchmite would be perfect, but the blade is really to short for me....

  • I just ordered it. Its great for me because the blade is under 3in where I live a minor can not carry a knife over a 3in long blade. I have a bunch of knives but none under 3in so I hope this is buy. btw great video

  • nice also check out the Benchmade mini griptiliahn its a hair under 3" and a great buy!

  • they dont care at libraries around here

  • thats good!

  • yup i actually have the librarians asking ME to loan them my knife LOL

  • This would DEFINITELY be a top pick for my next knife if it didn't lock closed. I still might get one, but I'd like it a lot more if it didn't lock closed...

  • I foudn it to be perfect sicne I put it on my keys, but I wodul love a bigger version of this knife that didnt lock closed...

  • can u tell were to get that???????? i want to buy 1

  • You cna find these all over if you search for them but I got mine from newgraham, google newgraham knives...

  • Omg in my country the knive is 148 euros on the internet...

  • wow thats alot!

  • i remember when i was in high school i had a small knife on me every time lol but i didnt know rules back then LOL

  • haha, I was in boy scouts and often had a pocket knife in my jacked pocket I had forgotten about and went to school with, I ALWAYS let my teahcer know about it and she was cool and just held it for me until the end of the day...

  • Knives are generally unwelcome in any kind of goverment building. (Schools, official buildings)

  • Your right...

  • I was just thinking, this would make an excellent neck knife consider it lock closed. Bigger blade than same sized fixed blade and lightweight.

  • Yeah with a few mods/changes this could be a nicenecker for sure!

  • good vid and also ALL knives r illegal in uk now so im verey sad lol

  • That is VERY sad...

  • yes and meny other in uk

  • that isnt true, as i have said many times, less than 3"; must fold; cant lock open. just because our weak goverment want us to belive that knives are bad and only for violence, doesnt mean the police can arrest you for carrying any knife

  • do u live in england and have u seen the news it said it on there

  • i hope your wrong for both our sakes, im checking it now

  • yea ive just checked it out and knife are not illegal in britian, 3" lockless folder are fine.

  • nice 1 thanks 4 the info bye the way what part of britian u live in

  • up north; yorkshire

  • cool cool birmingham

  • Here in California, the penal code says you can bring a knife with a blade less than 3" on any K-12 campuses, but the catch is that minors aren't allowed to carry knives at all. Oddly though, the blade length for universities is 2.5"... I can't figure that one out, lol

Nice vid though! That is a cool little knife! I have a $5 clone of the original Benchmite switchblade...

  • i wouldn't bet the farm on that theory...its a real tricke one.want to be a terrorist real quick??? get caught with a weapon(knife).

  • Lie I said its a general rule of thumb but I woudl imagine that there are exceptins in certain states and areas...

  • Cutlerylover, I didn't mean any offense if that's how you took it. I was just sayin that cause I found it knida interesting, just the differences between state laws. Still a good rule of thumb to not bring knives on K-12 campuses though, even if it's technically legal.

Funny story though, my uncle told me when he was a little kid, he brought his .22 rifle for show and tell at school, and no one made a big deal or anything. Crazy how times change.

  • Im not offended at all, but thabnks for trying to applogize anyway, haha I appreciate it...And yes there use to be a time where beign poitically correct was a non issue, and knives were somethgin every kid had, and Im sure guns were allowed as well for occasions like show and tell, ahha...I wish I grew up in that era, however I woudl not be abel to enjoy some of todays advanced designs or materials...

  • I know what you mean. It's like as we get better designs and materials, we get less freedom to carry them. It's a total give and take type thing. Haha, my uncle said he even carried his rifle around in high school cause he was makin a new stock for it in woodshop. And that was in northern Cali of all places, lol

  • lol...amazing how times change!

  • Yeah, when I pull a knife out and the comment I get from somebody is something like, "Yeah, that would be good to stab somebody with." I'm like, "Dude, it's a freakin Victorinox. Sheesh." Many people see a knife and they see only one thing.

And law abiding firearm owners have been demonized.

  • Very true!

  • you should put that bad boy in your edc stuff.

  • I have, lol its on ym keys now, Ill make a new EDC update vid soon...

  • oh, nice! by th way, jeff, what you think about aus8 steel? better than 440c?

  • Its close, I prefer 440C, its a bit harder I beleive...from my notes 440C has a rockwell of 60, and AUS-8 has a rockwell hardness of 59...

  • are you sure? i believed it was an indipendent thing..it's hard, f++++++different languages..lol..i mean that hardness it's something you can rise up with cold or heat treatment, but it's the same things for each steel..you can have 440c with 58 hrc or 4440c with 60hrc...can you confirm your notes? it's something i like to understand. Anserw is required...lol..

  • I agree, my notes came from a study done with average production knives, YES your right a rockwell hardness on one steel cna change duie to its heat treat, but these numbers I go by are an average number for the steel if heat treated properly...

  • i am with you TRUE 440c with a good heat treat whups AUS8 but AUS8 is easier to get the HT correct

  • Knives and fire, knives and fire; a shared passion

  • haha yup!!!!!!

  • nice vid man

  • Thank you!

  • sheeple! haha.. i love that lol.. i never knew this knive was so small great for keys.. i think i will definatly give one a try.

  • I have it on ym keys as we type, lol...Ill make a new EDC vid soon...

  • haha.. awsum i look forward to it..

  • u cant bring knives to airports either

  • True, I just thoguht that was an obvious one with airport security beign so rediculous these days, did you know airports use to sell knives! cheap ones but still...

  • dude why don't you do a Review abaut only lock systems ?

    tkx

  • I guess I can in the future...

  • ORIGINAL COMME SYSTZEME

  • ? what, lol...

  • thats a cool lil knife, i was thinking about getting the black one

  • Its worth buying I have it on my keys now...

  • the thing you asked cutleylover was if i wanted you to make a kershaw knifes vid

  • Ohhh, yeah I do...Sorry I didnt remember...

  • I use to have a teacher in elementary school, who had a cc permit, and use to carry a massive fixed blade everyday.. kinda wierd. But anyway, way cool lil knife.

  • hey man, where do you usually buy your knives?

  • if Im lookign for new knives I use newgraham...if I dont mind the knife used I get it on the secondary market through private sales real cheap over at bladeforums or knifeforums in the for sale sections...

  • Im now adding sheeple to my dayly vocab! Its too bad knives arnt seen as tools but as weapons...Anyway great review!!!

  • Thanks!

  • wish i could carry in my school everyones so scared of knives these days...

  • Yeah I know, I heard of a story not too logn ago of a kindergarten kid beign taken out of school by the police for havign a butter knife in his pocket, Im sure the kid was just playign with it at breakfast and forgot he had it, come on police escort for a kindergerten kid!!!!!!

  • TINY!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for the review. The word sheeple comes from the book Animal Farm by George Orwell in which the sheep represented the timid masses. I live in a city governed by sheeple - Chicago - we have a 2.5" restriction here. It's a joke.

  • lol, well on a seriosu note I think I remener that, animal farm was a manditory read whn I was in high school but I 1st started using the term after seeing it over and over on the knife related forums,haha...

  • Very Cool

  • nice job. what is your favorite super small gentleman's knife? Besides your william henry.

  • Hmm, well the U2 by Fallkniven is a nice small genmtlemans knife as well...but I really like Al Mar's knives, they make alot of gentlemans knives in great materails like abalone and mother of pearl, they are worth lookign into!

  • what if you carry a small tool like a leatherman juice because sometimes wheni ride my bmx bike my gears fall off and so i tighten them,so is it legal to carry a smal tool

  • I think thats fine, any mutitool that just happens to have a blade in it...

  • nice review, I've been looking for a small foldng knife that I can just toss in my pocket.

  • This would be it!

  • nice dude can u please add me as ur friends cutery

  • Sure If you send a request Ill accept it...

  • You can carry a knife at my high school if the blade is no longer than the width of your palm, is not locking or a fixed blade "hunting style". I've been doing it for a while.

  • REALLY? If you dotn midn me askign where do you live? Like what state and what kind of school do you go to? Public or private? Thats the 1st time I ever heard of that, thats great!

  • That's not very technical lol, there's kids in my school who have half the palm size of my hand lol.

  • i mite get that

  • And also, I was looking on the forums and it says that this knife can sort of flick open without using your thumb and yes this was the none auto version. Is this possible? Thanks!
