  • Thank you for this. I have been haunted all my life by obsessive and often negative thinking. Although there are parts of it that are justified, it consumes so much of my mental picture and taps my energy. I know there's a better way to live and get what I'm really after than to obsess, but it's so easy to forget that I'm even an obsessive person.

  • @LaBrick1 Hi See reply to the above girl3tallhead, it may help you. Think about the brain as a muscle between your ears which needs some training like working out at a gym. You can train yourself to replace your thoughts with better ones. It will take time, but it can be done All the best Debbie

  • My bad thought feel so real that I think I was willing thinking it. R this still intrusive thoughts or me?

  • those thoughts really are scary.

even though i know i would never do it i often see a knife and think i'd pick it up and stab myself. When you see the knife, for example, you think of the worse case scenario.. and that would be either hurting yourself or someone else.

I really wish those thoughts would go away.

  • @GirlM3talHead One thing you can do is say 'delete delete delete' and white out the image in your mind with a big pot of tippex then replace it with an image of you on your 80th birthday, looking healthy and happy with a knowing smile that lets you know you've learned to master your thoughts. Do the 'delete' thing over and over and the other suggestions to the point of obsession and train the TV in your mind to NOT present you with scary thoughts and images . All the best Debbie

  • @GirlM3talHead I agree its like certain thoughts trigger these terrible senarios as you say. When mine happen its like clockwork because it always happens at the same time. It scares me what I think about because in a way it makes me feel like im literally insane. The more I try to tell myself that it will go away, the longer the thoughts stay with me. Does that happen with you to?

  • @LaBrick1 lmao

  • @DemonicSymphonic how is that funny?

  • @DemonicSymphonic pedophilia OCD simply means your scared of turning into some thing your not u dumb bitch -.-

  • @LaBrick1 You secretly lust after little children and you're afraid to admit that to yourself. That is funny! HAHA!

  • what about if its other people (e.g. spouse) who keeps hinting to you that you're no good : especially if they've had affairs before and you are in the dark about it?

  • Your explanation is just so perfect. This video has helped me, thank you so much.

  • @SayAnythingBob Thank you

    Deb

  • I have a question would my thought or anything thought that come from it be always wrong. Cuz now my thought saz I proved it right.

  • My thoughts have no powers

  • Acturally thanks to you and other videos. I realized it was just a thought. A ramdom yet scarry thought.

  • Well mine was that I had the ability to change the meaning of my words to something evil.

  • So intrusive thoughts are always wrong?

  • @RaptorofRex07 Well it depends upon what you are thinking and when you are thinking it. The word 'intrusive' usually has negative connotations, ie this definition from wikkipedia - 1. Making an unwelcome manifestation with disruptive or adverse effect

  • Just be well does the person o. This account actualy know this person or anyone of these people?

  • omg i think like this all the time

  • i have had OCD 20 yrs. No psychiatrist, No Psychologist, No Doctor, No amount of cognitive therapy, or behavioural therapy, No Medication, or even God can help. This just grabs and clings to you for the rest of your natural. Its good that you try and I hope it works for some. But it doesnt work for me., Keep up the good work

  • oh gosh that was so helpful, thank you! im a university student and this year (my third year) has been particarly stressful and i've been a lot of obessessive/irrational thoughts of things that i would never, ever do. I know it's just my brain responding to the stress but I just worry abou them and i've been a big worrier for most of my life. Anyway, thank you again for the reassurance and tips.

  • @purpleshamrock17
