The first thing I thought of when I saw the title for this film was an episode of "Night Visions" with Cary Elwes. "Quiet Please", specifically.

Or on people who let their dogs bark all day, or on the loud car stereos w/ reverberating base, or on loud neighbors. Making the main character a pedophile doesn't help viewers sumpathize with him much either (the writers obviously want viewers to come away from it hating noise haters, not hating noise makers). There is also a long melancholy soundtrack (another reason to dislike the movie). I stopped watching it about 3/4 of the way into it. What a waste of a good topic.

@sebwingfield I take it you're referring to the "She's sexy" scene at the soccer match. I don't think he was being a pedophile as much as he was dealing with what his wife was doing and who the "sexy" kid's dad was.

But I agree with you about the soundtrack. That was a little hard to get over. And the (actual) sex scenes were particularly clunky.

Noise pollution is a serious problem. One could make a good movie about it but this isn't it. This movie, causes the viewer to dislike people who complain about noise. The main character, Mr. Owen, is viewed as unreasonable by even his own wife in the movie. Car alarms are what really bother him. Car alarms are not intentional or necessarily unreasonable noise. They should have focused on Harley Davidsons on main street or in National parks, or on loud muscle cars.

@sebwingfield Fuck you. My engine is loud because my car is a living piece of history. It isn't loud, its beautiful, and car alarms ARE intentional, you HAVE TO ASK THE DEALER TO GET ONE INSTALLED OR YOUR CAR WON'T HAVE ONE, and they are unnecessary. GET A SILENT ALARM LIKE I HAVE ON MY CAR. It calls your phone to tell you your car's getting jacked and its a lot more effective, and if you can't afford one, you don't need it, because your car obviously isn't worth stealing if you're that poor.
