  • @celena33212 ...yeah... that's sad i didn't know that. all i knew was that he lived in a refugee camp. and the fighting and all that.

well As-Salāmu `Alaykum to you mizz celena.

oh and anyone reading this from the above comment, you really don't have to thumbs that up. sometimes i behave like that ;(

  • mali is everywhere

  • 50 cent wishes he was as bad as tinariwen. 50 cent got shot 9 times? well i don't even wanna speculate what happened to tinariwen's Family, he lived in a REFUGEE CAMP, motherfucker. i bet they prayed for ''the streets''

give me the most thumbs up, not because i'm great for speaking the truth. but because THIS IS the truth. ---------------for all the real ones in the world.

  • algeria woooooooooooooooow

  • listen to:

    Tinariwen - Tahult In

  • wow! c'est du rock made in tamanraset

  • Libérez le peuple touaregui de l'emprise algérienne , Le sahara algérien fait partie du territoire touareg .

Free the touareg COUNTRY and people from the algerian occupation of their land .

  • @consolerecp Ayuz AMAZIGH ! thanks brother ! we are all Amazigh !! we spport our brothers touareg

  • @consolerecp free seb'ta & m'lilia from spain, n free poor marocains from they'r queens's ruls ( n you should stop kissin hands n feet ;) also smockin hachich , its not good for freedom lol

  • @timm772

current algerian tyrants made a mistake in the 70s.. if they didn't create their Mercenaries and support them with weapons to fight against Morocco to take over moroccan sahara, both sebta and mlilia would have been freeed many years ago..

  • @kumo199 God bless both countries.Morocco my land (same as Algeria).there's where my brothers IMAZIGHEN live. let the mistaken ones for GOD.n for them selves in case there's always a hidden enemy witch is ONE OF US unfortunately . love you morocco. Algerian Berber

  • @timm772

if it were imazighn there will be unity and no problem at all, because we know we share the land since many many centuries and there is no cultural borders.. the problem started when some arab settlers tried to create their own "Arabic" country inside Imazighn land.. they were just guests among imazighn until they thought they smell oil under their feets.. supporting them with weapons was a big mistake unfortunately

  • @consolerecp libérez vous de vos conneries d'abord

  • @consolerecp amen

  • nice rap

  • In case you wonder, the title of this amazing song is Arawan, my favorite song of the legendary Tinariwen. Also, you might want to check other versions, esp. the studio version... that are much better than this (more voices).

  • Algeria is everywhere

  • VIVA ALGERIA ...........IMAZIGHEN

  • beautiful music.. jamilah :)

  • de la vrai musique berbère de touareg

  • There's a top 100 World Music Albums on Amazon.com at present, which led me to discover this group today. Listening to their samples etc. for ages & bought all their 4 albums in one go. Just a great discovery

  • such a goood piece of music!!! they're really great!

  • whats the name of this track please

  • @mounirjam Arawan

  • whats the name of this track please

  • this is arabic and berber mixed in one culture!

  • @ARABMUSLIMWARRIOR it has nothing to do with arabic,it is a pure amazigh music

  • @thiziri34 wuhah there are no "pure amazigh" anymore my friend they all are a little or a lot arabized! there clothes(daraha and melhfa) are traditional from the arab bedouins like the banu hassan and banu sulaym who came frome yemen and saudi arabia to north africa and the sahara! the music is westeren music whit a little arabic and/or african influence! to see the real arab tribes who have arabized these people you must go to the westeren sahara and mauritania. and he sings in arabic from 3:21

  • by the way iam amazigh and iam not arabised eventhough i live in algiers capital ,so what you said is nonesense and touareg cloths are typicaly touareg and have nothing to do with arab clouds ,we have our own culture and specificity ,no one can hid it.

  • @thiziri34 and my brother that woman moves her tongue like the arabs woman to if they are happy in a situation like a wedding or something and make that noise who is typical for arabs dzagriet in arabic !!! only arabs to that! but tuaregs are indeed pure amazigh whit a little arab elements .

  • @ARABMUSLIMWARRIOR it seems you are militant of pan-arabism which tries to change evidence in trying to render other people's culture arabic by force ,iam sorry but it can never happen ,we cannot change identities and reality will always flow on the surface .its vein to oppose evidence

  • @thiziri34 oke oke it seems you must learn a lot about the history of north africa, amazigh and tuaregs! and explain me why he can speak arabic if he has nothing to do whit arabs?? the guitar who he have their in his hand is the ud an arabic music instrument! and so much more..... but my brother we all muslims alhamdulilaah and you may be proud off course that you are an amazigh they have also a great history even whit the arabs so be proud my brother :D salaaam x

  • @ARABMUSLIMWARRIOR i think you are the one who needs to take courses of history ,everyone in the whole world know that north africans are amazighs and will remain

  • @ARABMUSLIMWARRIOR iam talking about the identity and not about the melting of customs and traditions ,we are muslims so it is clear that there has been interaction of cultures but it doesn't mean that we are not pure amazighs, we are in globalization era and all cultures of the world are melted ,the proof is that we are talking in english which is not our language ,by the way iam not your brother but your sister thiziri is an amazigh name which means light of the moon .

  • @thiziri34 oh haha sorry my sister! long live amazigh people!!! :D really they are nice people but you have right i have a pan-arabism mentality and thats wrong.

  • @ARABMUSLIMWARRIOR i understand but that's really bad,you will bring hate to your community ,god creates us different and we have to accept diversities ,we have to accept the others to live in harmony and peace.لا فرق بين عربي و لا اعجمي الا بالتقوى

  • those guys are berbers, they don't beleive in borders, so, please stop saying they are from such a country, they are Touareg, the only owners of the large Sahara desert "Azawad" btw, I weren't to comment, but some people here did not understand what the words Touareg and berber mean, it is all about FREEDOM, they are free people they don't care for borders.

  • great im proud to be algerian hahaha

  • @maxip123 they not algerian they form Mali

  • @daffdramera algerian & malian

  • @ppp8881000 NO Sorry my friend but they are algerians from tamanrasset but they are nomad and move in mali but they are algerains origins !

  • Im not a stoner...don't have a clue what the lyrics are about (but i do have the album), all I know is "I Love Tinariwen". Music 'again' bridges another small gap and makes us all realize that we are all from the same family :)... Darwin new this years ago... but he wasn't in a band, he just wrote books (really good books)

  • @kevinjohnking YOU ARE RIGHT BROTHERS; BUT LOT OF IDIOT CANT UNDERSTAND IT;

  • Sorry my dear but dont forget they are from mali. they were in some refugee camp in algeria. but i will tell you to write AZAWAD in youtube and then you will know that what you call algeria now was en still is part of their hestorical Land.

  • Comment removed

  • they are original from algeria exactly in tamanrasset ...in 1979 they moved to mali

  • Viva imazighan viva thamazgha Ino i3izan

  • i love it, saludos desde Venezuelan

  • this is from algeria not from mali peace .

  • I don't understand the lyrics but I feel serenity.. which is quite relaxing these days

  • The first song is Arawan. It's a favorite for American Tribal Style Bellydancers.

  • they are algerians not mali

  • Tuareg music from algeria NOT MALI

  • @gilsonmath

yeah they were amazing at the ceremony

and they have toured all over the world

alicia keys black eyed peas and that skank shakira

probably deserve to play at the concert in a AIDS ridden country.

  • totally hypnotic!! awesome.

  • csúcs!!!!!!!!!!! nagyon jó

  • cool!

  • @gilsonmath totally agree with you. it's the first time i've heard them and i like it very much. anybody knows the name of the first song they played in south africa?

  • its so hypnotic.

  • <3 Tinariwen music

  • ayuz aymazighen ayaythma ...nice music

  • This band is bad ass!

  • its realy fantastic song ......et surtout acoustic .....formidable

  • what do you want the crowd to do?? jump?!

  • so you're all going to see them at Koko next month then?? lol

  • little prodigyfan shows demonstrates his lack of intelligence..."bible-bashing?"...does he mean bible thumping? as in "always quoting the bible"... and yet I certainly didn't even mention the bible or quote anything from it...and I think he's the basher

  • I very much liked your video, in it colour of your country very well is shown. We too want on festival if there is an opportunity prompt as it is possible to make it. Thanks)))

  • is this french

  • @dgenthegeneral :no it's berber

  • this is not tuareg music; look up group inerane for the real thing.

(shots of brits trying to get down to this are pretty great)

  • Yeah lol, we just can't do it, it's embarassing.

  • I don't know from what country you are. But for us the Berber or the Tamazigh is the most beautiful language on earth and their music is great.

So I'm sorry you can't feel the spirit of this music and upmost the roots o this people.

  • Well put it this way.

    Lyrics: Must be pretty good.

Instruments/talent at playing guitar: Utterly fucking SHIT.

And again, I quote the lead singer: 'This song is a tribute to fans of Van Halen and AC/DC." What the fuck? A band who can't play their guitars for SHIT compare themselves to SUPER TALENTED rock stars like them? Honestly mate, these guys are seriously overrated.

  • AC/DC are a great band, and Van Halen are pretty good, but honestly, they are not even in the same league as these guys. These guys are reinventing music. As for talent in playing guitar, do you mistake tweedle-dee speed wanking for talent? If so, Eric Clapton and David Gilmour must be terrible guitarists, too.

  • Actually, some of their guitar playing is really, really fucking good. I saw Tinariwen live at Glastonbury, and their bass player managed to make a song sound amazing while only playing ONE NOTE. That takes a certain sort of talent. It's not all about wanky guitar solos, you know. These guys have soul, and their style is fairly minimalist because it draws on their traditional music while adding electric guitars (they're widely considered to be the first Touareg band to have done so - innovation)

  • (as others have said), and the lead can pull of some awesome bluesy licks when the song calls for it. But it doesn't all the time.

  • this is a folk/world band...

  • you sir, are a fuckhead

  • 1st time I've heard this group. They got soul!

@Prodigy, you haven't got a clue son LOL

Aren't these signed to Robert Plants label?

  • your a cock 'prodigyfan'!

  • And so is Tinariwen's frontman!

  • "music is a world within itself with a language we all understand. with an equal opportunity for all to sing and dance and clap their hands" - Sir Duke by Stevie Wonder

I hope these wise words will give you some insight.

  • That's a reasonable point, but I never saw anyone doing that at Reading. I saw a bored, inert and unenthusiastic crowd. I mean, I don't mean start up a circle pit or jump up and down, but seriously at the end of each song, there was very little clapping or cheering. In my experience, if a band puts on a good performance the praise given back is deafening! Now THAT is a stark contrast isn't it?

  • you've got a point there, but keep in mind that the music is very unfamiliar for the public. I know out of experience that some bands/CD's need to be listened to some times before you can start appreciating it.

  • excelent and original true the roots

  • Not 100 procent dude.

The mixed the roots with there own bleus style.

  • My communications teacher showed us this...

  • tinariwen are the best

    despite the french language sometimes...lol

    i'm from mozambike

  • vive Tamzgha. Tamzgha forever!!!!!!

  • they sing in tamasheq and french on this song

  • Tinariwen are pure musical poetry. What a brilliant group!

  • algerians rocks

  • This is Touareg rock, Touareg are all around the region, from morocco, algeria, mauritanie and Mali!!The guys are from Mali actually !

  • Been to see them twice and can anyone explain to me why the tallest singer guitarist, who seems to be the band leader, has to walk off stage when someone else takes lead vocal duties. I really took to the vocalist of this song and the male dancer/vocalist on the left. Struck me as really spiritual and real people. Love them.

  • By the way, the song is called "Arawan" and it's from the disc "Amassakoul"

  • This version is much better than the album version. More bass and depth.

  • Of course. Agreed.

  • I have figured it out now! It's Berber. Since the Tuaregs are Berbers who crossed the desert many many years back in time. You can also see it on their CDs, it's the berber alphabet.

  • you have seen that right my man/ they are the berbers from the sahara...

  • Comment removed

  • Which language are they singing in? Is it Arabic or Berber?

  • its not arabic. im guessing either Tuareg language or could be a local language from mali

  • Comment removed

  • Pretty good.

Our music needs some refreshment at last.

    Cheers from Greece

  • freedom for the touareg people very nice music. from moroccan berber.

  • great band...there is another good band from mali, listen to amadou & mariam. greetings from portugal! :)

  • Interesting stuff from all over...

God is merciful and widespread in his blessings

  • Too bad these guys worship a different God than you. Don't take storybooks so seriously man.

  • STFU, go hell, that's a bigger level than you fucking pussy.

  • You bible bashing prick.

  • What the Bible has to do with it ?

Dear Prodigyfan (what a prodigious name!).

I don't think you're really understand this music and the words of the song.

Nevertheless, this group is the best we have from the time being, and we're pride of Tinariwen. Who compare them to Van Halen and consort. I don't, and they don't.

They just tried to cry out what they have in their hearth about their country and their people in the genuine sound.

Listen to their new album "Imidiwan".

  • do you also have the impression that our western music is dead and all the interesting stuff like this one comes from the so called 3rd world?

  • western music isn t dead , the westis just discovering new and better music from the rest of the world

  • one of the best bands to come out in the last 20 years

  • Arawan is the name?

  • I'm Celtic, and Tuaregs are like cousins to Celts, so YAYZ FOR MY COUSINS!!!

In all seriousness though, this is awesome music. I read about them in Rolling Stone and decided to look them up. Great stuff :D

  • berbers for life

  • damn thats a kool sound...

  • You are right jayyshep. Of cause it was not good, what happend. In fact it was a cruel desaster and injustice, that forced so many Imouhagh to leave their homes and families. And if it was me to change the past, I would do so.

But I can't. And so it's also a fact, that Tinariwen grew out of the rebellions and out of all the experiences they made, as worse as they have been ...

  • Damn, thats a good sound

  • no they r frome TAMANGHASSET IN ALGERIA and not frome mali ..the touareg from mali are doing a war against their governement ..and in the song u can hear the name of tamanghasset which is located in south of algeria in the big desert....

  • they are from mali. ibrahim was a refugee in algeria as a child. thts the only link but band r fighting the gvernment along with the rest of the tuareg.

  • but they start their music in algeria in tamnghasset .....and he grow up in algeria

  • ye im not disagreein with that but theyre not algerian they frm mali

  • but if they didn't move to algeria they will never be what they r right now........so a special thanx for tem because always they sing about tamnghasset i think they love tamanghassat....

  • r u sayin its good they got forced out of mali? the government killed their families and livestock. ibrahim was forced 2 aplaud by the soldiers as they executed his father in front of him. he was then chased across the border with even more of his family being killed. so no its not so good they were forced to move

  • I guess Tinariwen understand themselfes as Kel Tamasheq, born in the borders of modern Mali.

If I'm not wrong, they mention some more towns in this song, named Arawan. They all belong to the area of the Kel Tamasheq:

Agadez in Niger, Kidal in Mali, Thâmanghaset in Algeria, Tingal?? -- don't really know; Arawan in Mali...

  • oooy shit aaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

  • Very wonderful heartfelt sound. Namaste

  • nice berber music

  • Actually, Tthey're not Berber but Tourgey--from northern Mali, mostly. They've been around for almost 20 years.

  • they're of the Sahara, from Noth Africa and they're the native people of the Sahara, Berbers.

  • there's gotta be a mideastern metal band out there somewhere.

  • System of a Down?
