Yes, it does. The One Year War is a WWII analogy through and through. Degwin told Gihren that he was following in Hitler's footsteps when Gihren asked him for authorization of the Solar Ray project--and Gihren took it as a compliment.

Don't worry, these aren't random thoughts. This is what Tomino wanted you to see. Search YouTube for "Zeon flag" or "Zeon tribute" and you'll see what I mean; if it looks like the Nazi flag without the swaztika, you're looking at the right one.

00 was not that bad. seriously. SEED and SD were horrible but 00 is better than Wing. But no doubts that UC Gundam is the best there is. and stop doing such lame comments: " there's no originality or talent like in the old Cel animation. "

As it is I got some kick-ass mecha designs and a good plot line but so far trying to get Bandai interested in my ideas has been like climbing a sheer cliff. They aren't interested in fan-suggested series from outside Japan it seems.

yeah, old school gundam ROCKS! Wing too, though it's not quite as good with the plot.

But SEED, SEED destiny, and 00 are garbage. Total slop. The new gundams are horrible. They're all magical BS super-bots with a bazillion lasers shooting every which way... which defeats the purpose of Gundam being a "real robot" anime. Hell even the animation is all done by computer now, and it has that lousy laminated "digimon" look.... there's no originality or talent like in the old Cel animation.

Personally, and I know I'm gonna get chewed out by the FANBOIZ, but I think that Gundam started to go downhill with Wing. That's where all the bishonen came in and everyone started getting a Gundam.

I used to not even notice the 'bishounen' aspect of Wing until I saw the old school Gundam!

Now it's annoying how easy it is to spot. It's not a total blow to the series but Qatre is just plain GAY, once u see the original Japanese dub. Trowa just barely tries to look straight but he's got a lot of people fooled.

The gundam pilots are also WAY too thin in Wing.... like almost anorexic. Which is fucked up since they're supposed to be warriors and survive a fall from a building and stuff.

That only happens in the side story Gihren's Greed. It's not the "canon" story of the original Gundam. Though it IS an interesting take on the whole "alternate ending" concept. Basically it covers what would have happened if Zeon won the One Year War... remember that Char had his own agenda and wanted revenge against the Zabis. So in Gihren's Greed, Char becomes the main hero (or anti-hero, rather).

I dunno if you've ever worked with computer graphics but it's not a walk in the park. And have you even SEEN SEED and destiny? There is just as much depth as 0079, Zeta and ZZ. I love the old series but that doesn't mean the newer series don't have their own appeal and their own positive aspects. Hell XD SEED had more drama and depth then almost any anime I've known. They're ALL gundam series, after all. You can't have gundam without war, and you can't have war without emotion.

Yeah gundam is all about emotion and war. Still though the sheer number of gundam series does mean that some stand out beyond the others.

And as for SEED... to me it just lacks any HINT of realism. The mechs are just cheesy to look at, everything looks chrome plated, the characters all have this super shiny laminated skin/hair, and quite honestly it's NOT easy to make computer-edited anime look good, and it shows.

Plus SEED is just insane with all the crazy weapons on steroids. Viva UC!

GET OVER IT. Take your insults elsewhere. I've heard enough praise about SEED, I've seen the series myself and it falls WAY short of the hype. I didn't even feel like I was watching gundam... the whole thing felt like some sort of emo speed trip with giant robots that have near-magical powers (anyone ever heard of Evangelion? Do we really need Gundam to go down that path?)

Yeah, it's definately a clear reference to Nazi Germany. The term "Axis" is even a reference to the real Axis in World War 2--Nazi Germany, Facist Italy, and Inperial Japan.

Probably carried them along as Breeching Weapons so that they could get into the base easier, then would drop them as they got into close combat with the base defenders. The Gouf isn't exactly overflowing with weapons to fight at range you know.

Either that or they're MS-07As which have to mount Regular Zeon weapons because they lack built in ones (Man, a Gouf without a Heat Rod is just a Blue Zaku imo...)
