I have terrible anxiety, as well as depression and anorexia. However I'm recovering. As for the anxiety, I see a therapist. When I feel too anxious or panicked I lay down in bed and listen to calming music and stroke my own hair to let myself know I'm present with myself. I eventually calm down. I also drink tea/do yoga/meditate, or go to my "happy place."
I was on medication called cipralex for my anxiety, depression and OCD and other people told me I would look happier but I felt dumb. It also caused me to develop DPDR so I decided to take myself off it. I still haven't found easy to cope with my anxiety and have panic attacks 2-3 times a day so I think I might try some of the things you mentioned, thank you!
i have anxiety and depression and at the moment im being tested for multiple sclerosis. i dont know whats going to happen if i have MS i probably will become more depressed and cut myself some more and the anxiety will most likely become worse. it might mean another trip to the hospital. but anyways you can rent a car and get the insurance option and then kick the hell out of it. i believe that damaging something expensive and/or something that matters will make you feel better.what do you think
Yay :] that's brilliant! Also jumping on something that dents easy, like a box or plastic carton can be very relieving! My mum always used to kick and stamp on a plastic milk carton whenever somebody upset her.
I suffer from anxiety also, have never liked taking meds either, namely for the same reasons as you've expressed. I find being somewhere you feel safe and comfortable can help, doing something relaxing; a bath, painting your nails, drawing, writing.even punching a cushion, sounds silly but it can get out pent up emotions.but I've never truly been good at dealing with it except for just riding it out. Hope you find something that helps.
