Essential components in wind turbines are made from rare earth metals mined from China by slaves in abhorrently unsafe, ecologically devastating conditions. In order to get the wonderful world of wind turbines you see here in any reasonable timeframe, how do you presume we go about getting these REM's? Plenty of them exist in Idaho and Colorado, enough to last centuries, in fact, but that would require strip mining and passing legislation necessary to do so. I wish things were so easy.
