That's because this whole anime is based off of crossovers from different series by CLAMP. Those two kids ARE the kids from Card Captors, so you're absolutely right. There's tons of different characters from various animes done by CLAMP within this anime. They're known to do that within their works.

um, dude there is no season 3, there is only the OVA's, and trust me the series doesn't run on for much more, just look for tokyo revalations then shunraiki. after that you'll have to finish the last few eps with the manga but its worth it ^_^
