  • Well, I cannot ass the "bookmark folder" onto the bar, I do have the bar. also I do not have the "home" Icon on the bar like the one on the tool bar her in the presentation. Help anybody, please?

  • @Charliethedawg Click the wrench icon, then click tools, then put a check in 'show home button' and 'always show the bookmarks bar'.

Then click the wrench tool, then 'bookmarks manager', and drag any bookmark or folder onto the bookmark bar.

  • How do you get the icons for your bookmarks for example youtube videos it only show a grey planet for a icon and I dont want that how can I change that? Please reply!

  • @flyfisher4life1 When you bookmark a site, their favicon will show up as the icon beside their name. I don't think you can change the icon that appears in Chrome.

  • thank you...so easy yet so far away from my knowledge!!!

  • I HATE Google Chome's favorites, the way it's designed. I wish they just copied Internet Explorer design. I want to LEAVE the bookmarks OPENED at ALL Times

  • thank you

  • Thanks For The Help Genius!

  • :)

  • Great help thanks alot !!!!!! :)

  • How do i make them smaller like i have the bookmarks bar already and everything works but i want it not to show with the text just the logo.

  • @FunVids1956 Right click on each bookmark in the bookmark bar, choose 'edit' and change the text to what you want to see.

  • when you imported your favorites from IE, did your favorites get scrambled/mixed up? i keep all my favorites and folders in a certain order and i reaaallly don't want to have to reorganize them.

  • @GabbieEff When I imported favorites from IE, they imported in alphabetical order, and stayed within the correct folders.

  • aw thanks i was tired of seeing one huge line of favorites/bookmarks on that vertical line, now it is fine, i named it favorites again lolz

  • when i hit the wrench icon, there isn't even an option that says always have bookmark bar on. can someone help?

  • @everybodysuxbutme16 After you click on the wrench icon, click the tools link, and you'll find the bookmark option.

  • @guerillabill thanks bro

  • Google Chrome version: 12.0.742.68 beta-m, Operating System: Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit, Error Message: None, Extensions installed: None

Please describe your question/comment in detail (for example, steps to reproduce the problem):

I have saved more than 150 pages in google chrome via the ' Save Page ' option but now i realiszed that it SAVE the page and doesnt update or do anything. I would like to convert them into bookmarks but i dont know how. Any help would be really appreciated

  • @kimi450 To bookmark a page, click the star at the far right end of the address bar in chrome.

I don't think there is any way to convert 'saved pages' into bookmarks. A saved page is just a html file saved on your computer.

  • this helped, but the "bookmarks" feature in general still really stinks...I want to lock the column in place and expand and collapse folders instead of having everything pop up on the side...very tedious...

  • @dnoanoa You can lock the bookmarks bar in place using the wrench, then 'tools' then 'always show bookmarks' bar. In the bookmarks bar you can add your bookmarks folders, which when moused over will show a vertical list of the bookmarks in that folder.

I keep several folders of bookmarks in the bookmarks bar, which makes it easy to find bookmarks quickly.

  • @guerillabill Thanks, that's a little better. I still like IE favorites better than Chrome bookmarks, but it's the only thing I like better. Thanks for the tips, Bill.

  • thanks alot man i appreciate the vid, i went from firefox to chrome and had no idea on how to find my bookmarks that i saved

  • I dont have "Always show bookmark bar" button -,-

  • @TheDarknezzking Click the wrench icon, then choose 'tools'. You'll see the 'always show bookmark bar' option

  • @guerillabill Thanks!

  • @guerillabill Thanks!

  • Does chrome have a favicon bookmark icon changer for the bookmarks on the bookmark bar? Because i like to customize my bookmark bar with bookmark icons other than the bookmark default icon,it makes my bookmarks in the bookmark bar more eye pleasing than the bookmarks that show up on the bookmark bar when i bookmark a site and add it to my bookmark bar.

  • thank you very much very helpful....google bookmarking is not as common sense as ie and firefox

  • Bookmarks are awesome!

  • i have a million bookmarks, i want them to be hidden! but that is not possible, i believe...

  • @Marciaus007 In chrome, click the wrench icon, then 'bookmark manager', then create a folder to put your book marks in. Then either drag that folder to the favorites bar, or keep it hidden within the bookmarks folder.

  • @guerillabill thanks, but it seems that Flash player is crashing too often which is so annoying, so i am staying with mozilla :)

  • @Marciaus007 I use Chrome on 5 different computers, and I haven't experienced any crashes with flash or any other causes. Make sure you have the latest version of both Chrome and Flash.

  • awesome thank you!!!

  • Bookmarks?

  • @anicetune Bookmarks are the same as favorites.

  • why'd they have to change the ever so popular term "favorites" to "bookmarks"?

  • THANK YOU!!!!!!

i needed the bookmarkelet from weheatit and in less than one minute you told me how to do that

    THANXXX

  • howq to disadde?

  • I just checked, everything I show in that video still works on the very latest version of Google Chrome . . .

  • This video must be for some old version. (1) There is no F*ing "Always Show Bookmarks Bar". You have to press CNTRL- SHIFT - B. (2) You can not right click on a webpage and drag it to the bookmarks bar, this does not work. Click the star, make a new bookmark, then go into your drop down triangle bookmark list and drag it onto your bookmarks bar. (3) Probably the most infuriating thing, you can't click on a TAB name and drag it onto the bookmarks bar, like in Firefox.

  • im with yea punkrocks

    thank you

  • Wait so how do you get your Google Account Book Marks to show up i cant figure it out.

  • What happens if this button isn't in my version?!?!?

  • @gtabro1337 Click the wrench, then click the 'tools' option, and you'll find the bookmark bar choices. If your version doesn't have the wrench, update to a newer version.

  • Wow! Thanks! This really helped me a lot! I just got Google Chrome and I had a lot of trouble accessing my bookmarks that I've imported from FireFox. Thanks again for the help and I'm glad that I've found this video!

  • thanks my bookmarks toolbar suddenly vanished, thanks to you i got it again :)

  • @Edrocks21 Click the wrench, then click 'tools'. You'll see the option to always show bookmarks.

  • Hey Bill, somehow my bookmarking white star got shifted over to the far right side of the screen, over next to the open ended wrench. How do I move it back to where the page reload and open home page icons are?

  • @NappingPup The latest version of Chrome puts the bookmark star on the far right of url window. Currently, no way to move it back to the left.

  • Thx alot you just made my day I was begining to hate chrome for... well the lack of the bookmarks icon...I wanted to go right back to Firefox but now i dont need to fire fox is still better in certain way but mhe both of them run super smooth anyway Thx alot nice video!

  • xd.....so simple....Thank you.....=P

  • When I right click anywhere on pages, I cannot drag them into the bar. Is there a third option for adding bookmarks?

  • thanks this def helped a lot

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  • Thanks, It is really a helpful video..

  • Umm how do you just show the icon like the F in Facebook

  • I Dont Have A wrench..... ?????

  • @CrazyCatapeller If you are using a Mac, Chrome on the Mac doesn't have Wrench or Page icons in top-right corner. Instead, you must use the menus at the top of the screen to find what you're looking for

  • yeah i found it :)

  • @guerillabill Hey on Mac you have to enable it by going to menubar -> chrome -> preferences and check the "show page and tools menus" .. but thanks for helping me the rest of the way bob!

  • THATS HOW!!!!!!

thank you! Google Chrome is now SUPER!

    Thanks!! :D

  • Thank you very much! Yes I agree, google chrome is more faster and safer for me. I used to use Mozilla but my friend suggested Google Chrome because its faster and doesn't lag that much. Thanks for the help.

  • Hello Bill,

What is the software you used for this presentation to show active highlighted cursor (the arrow)?

  • I use Camtasia to capture the screen and edit the video. The highlighted cursor is one of the options in Camtasia recorder.

The big red arrow is part of a custom cursor package you can find and download from my site.

  • I have google chrome on my mac and it doesn't have that wrench button to the right of the adress bar. How do I edit my bookmarks?

  • Download the dev version of Google Chrome to get all the features.

  • thank you very much!

  • bill, how long have you been making these videos? i wanna be just like u in making them. Ur great at this!

  • than x alot sir

  • Very helpful. Thank you!

  • FireFox is the fastest for me, Chrome is Slowish and times out sometimes. and IE is just bleh. Still Great Tutorials bill

  • chrome is faster for me

  • I prefer the DEV version of Chrome it is way faster than the stable version.

  • Always great tutorials, Bill. I have a couple questions for you.

What kind of computer would be best for editing and producing HD video?

  • For HD editing, a quad core computer with min 4 Gig of Ram running Windows XP or Windows 7, will speed things up significantly.

  • What screen capture program do you use? The video isn't choppy at all.

  • I use Camtasia Studio to capture and edit these kinds of screen movies

  • I have a question.

When you download things to install in, let's say, Internet Explorer, you have an option to save or run. When you run it, you don't have to save it first. In Google Chrome, when you download something, it automatically makes you save it.

    Any way to avoid this?

  • Click the wrench icon, then select 'options', then select 'minor tweaks', then 'download location'. Place a check in 'ask where to save the file before downloading'

  • When you press Run, it actually HAS TO download it first, but it downloads it into a temporary folder, this is something google chrome does automatically.

Going from IE to chrome is great.

But Im staying with my customized Firefox, and occasionally use chrome.

  • how do you import bookmarks from other browsers?

  • Click the wrench icon, and select 'import bookmarks'

  • Which Browser is easiest for you to use?

  • I find Chrome faster and safer. It takes a little to get used to, but it is very fast.

  • Sarasota? Bill, you don't live too far from me then.

  • You can hit ctrl B

  • Thanks for the tips.. By the way I love your Sony Vegas Vids..

  • thanks for the info

  • To get the bookmark bar, its faster to hit ctrl B.
