They're meant to give riders an experience unlike no other. It's not a fucking competition! At the end of the day, I guarentee every single person that has been on both rides has left with a huge smile on their face and that's all that matters.
Yeah kingda ka may be faster and higher, but dragster actually has a legit theme and it was first. All six flags does is copy cedar points coasters. Also cedar point has the BEST of the BEST coasters in the world. No park can really beat it. It was one of Americas first amusement parks.

@scooby55599 It does get stuck at the top sometimes! There's a little man who goes up the tower in a cage elevator and pushes you over the edge. Search for it, there's a video on here somewhere.
One big difference between the two, Kingda Ka has a shoulder restraint the prevents ur body from leaning forward at the top of the hill. TTD does not. There's the difference right there. When ur at the top of a 420 hill looking 90 degrees down, ur entire body is pulled forward. On kingda ka, that doesnt happen. The 30 feet and 10mph diff between the two are negligible. However, the shoulder restraint is the difference maker. TTD is better.
Kingda Ka and Top Thrill Dragster: You people show me the difference between the two, because so far, I see them as the EXACT same ride. So people need to stop saying "Top Thrill Dragster is better" or "Kingda Ka is better" because they're the exact same fucking ride!
@ortonfan166 I've ridden both and they are not the same ride simply because Six Flags does not maintain Kingda Ka properly. Top Thrill Dragster is intense but Kingda Ka rattles the heck out of riders. Plus the lap-bars only on Dragster provide a much better ride experience.
@TinasEntertainers FYI, the fastest is Formula Rossa at Ferrari World. But TTD still SHITS ALL OVER IT, especially since Formula Rossa gets slowed down a great amount on the first hill right after the F-ing launch.

I wish an engineer would explain to me why the train needs to curve on the way down. It would seem to me it would disorient you. Rides should not disorient you.
I totally want to go back to Cedar Point. My dad and I always go the first week of June (in the middle of the week) when schools up north are mostly still in session, therefore the lines are almost completely invisible.

That’s 3 years before Raptor opened & the Batman clones began springing up ...and the contracts, design and planning for Raptor were already well under way...they don’t decide this year to come up with a coaster and next year it’s designed, built and opening for us to ride. @thedimeckks I understand that but that doesn't negate the fact that you said CP copied SF with the inverted coaster and that's not possible. The contracts and designs are done long in advance so they most likely were all boiling in the pot at the same time. CP doesn't NEED to copy SF...they get it and know how to operate a park and maintenance is top notch. SF would do well to learn from them in those areas.

Well, that's a different point then what we were discussing. But, okay. We'll end this argument on that note. You must experience danger before we become accustomed to adventure. My first roller coaster was Diamonback here in Ohio. Before that, I was terrified of roller coasters and rides in general. But, now I love everything that is the theme park. Although, I've only been to Kings Island and Coney Island.
The best part of this video was when they had the side view of the people during the drop. Right as the crested to the 90 degree point with the land in the background.
I think that both top thrill dragster and kingda ka are amazing rides. But i think i have to give my favorite to kingda ka. Yes its shaky and doesnt have a good view but i think the taller and the faster the better.
Top Thrill Dragster is awesome!!! I've ridden it 5 times....all in the front car. The only downside is that you'll have about 50 bugs splattered on your face ans in your teeth! lol Seriously!!
I've never ridden Kingda Ka before, but don't let anyone tell you it beats TTD. Just look at the seats you sit in...TTD has just a silly bar while Kingda Ka has the over the shoulder bars which take a lot away from the thrill.

I'm so going on this this summer :) I think it's better than Kingda Ka because you have more thrill from only having a seatbelt and a lapbar, and not a shoulder restraint. I can't wait!

I have rod e the dragster a lot including 8 times in a row last year, the dragster by not using the shoulkder retsrauint makes the ride more thrilling and even though the kinda ka is slightly higher and faster, the dragster was the first to have the coaster and is the safest amusement park in the world, and the gamers opinion, cedaar point had their 120mph coaster before the N.J six flags did, and thgey have still not had retsraint issues, and the dragster is better because of not having them.

You're wrong Gamers. The only reason why Kingda Ka was given shoulder restraints, was because of the amount of time it took the ride operators to make sure of safety. If you've ever been on TTD, you'll understand that they have to come around and put your lap-bar down for you. And that is the reason, why Intamin AG decided to put Shoulder Restraints on future models, and models after TTD. So, keep your fan boy opinions in your head.
@Oilersfolife Um they still walk up and down the station checking and tightening the restraints for every rider on every train. So just wait till TTD has a problem with their restraints as a lot of Intamin AG lap bar restraints have had problems in the past. As with future models of Intamin coasters El Toro was built after both KK and TTD, El Toro has lap restraints also their newest ride Intimidator 305 will have lap bar restraints as well.
Actually, you're wrong, they don't tighten anything on the 'newer' models. In-fact, they just pull it up, to make sure you've done the seat-belt. It's the same idea with a ride like say, 'The Corkscrew'. Like I said before, they've put over the shoulder restraints on newer models to save time on loading up passengers in the station. Oh, and for the the record, TTD has had ONE issues since its opening, and it wasn't related to the restraints. So what is the issue that you're talking about?
Are you that dumb to say "they don't tighten anything on the 'newer' models", obviously you have not ridden both(meaning you are a TTD fanboy). After loading the trains on KK every passenger has their restraint pushed down and seat belt tightened by employees. Another thing that you make obvious is saying "So what is the issue that you're talking about?" if you read what I wrote correctly I said that it is a matter of time before TTD has a problem with its restraints.
No, there actually were many issues with lap bars that were used on many of their rides. Most of them involved operator ignorance like when someone with cerebral palsy got on a ride (the operators should have not let him on), so he was actually skinny enough to slip out of the restraints. Other incidents involve rider stupidity, where the purposely try to wiggle their way out of the restraints. Or they were so fat the lap bars didnt lock. So if you arent incredibly stupid you wont have problems.
your not going to feel the difference and top thrill dragster was the first strata coaster,so just because its 8 mph faster or 36 ft. higher does not make it better so shut up top thrill dragster is way better

@thedimeckks I understand that but that doesn't negate the fact that you said CP copied SF with the inverted coaster and that's not possible. The contracts and designs are done long in advance so they most likely were all boiling in the pot at the same time. CP doesn't NEED to copy SF...they get it and know how to operate a park and maintenance is top notch. SF would do well to learn from them in those areas.

Taller and faster does not make it better.KK was an epic fail from the moment SF ran to Intamin after they got wind of what Cedar Point was doing. I've ridden both...You can keep Kinda Krap...I'd ride it if it was a walk on but wouldn't wait for it, it simply is not worth it. Dragster is smoother and FAR more intense. Kingda Krap vibrates something awful...but you can thank SF for that-the design of KK makes it crap.

I'm not from USA, so I don't understand so much but, as I can see one of the more important differences between this two rides is the kind of seats. It seems like top thrill dragster does not use the same protection. I guess that's why at first you must experiment something completly different. But, besides that? Is there any other reason? My first roller coaster was Diamonback here in Ohio. Before that, I was terrified of roller coasters and rides in general. But, now I love everything that is the theme park. Although, I've only been to Kings Island and Coney Island.

Top Thrill Dragster is awesome!!! I've ridden it 5 times....all in the front car. The only downside is that you'll have about 50 bugs splattered on your face ans in your teeth! lol Seriously!!
I've never ridden Kingda Ka before, but don't let anyone tell you it beats TTD. Just look at the seats you sit in...TTD has just a silly bar while Kingda Ka has the over the shoulder bars which take a lot away from the thrill.
Cedar Point is one of the greatest places on earth!!

I have rod e the dragster a lot including 8 times in a row last year, the dragster by not using the shoulkder retsrauint makes the ride more thrilling and even though the kinda ka is slightly higher and faster, the dragster was the first to have the coaster and is the safest amusement park in the world, and the gamers opinion, cedaar point had their 120mph coaster before the N.J six flags did, and thgey have still not had retsraint issues, and the dragster is better because of not having them.

You're wrong Gamers. The only reason why Kingda Ka was given shoulder restraints, was because of the amount of time it took the ride operators to make sure of safety. If you've ever been on TTD, you'll understand that they have to come around and put your lap-bar down for you. And that is the reason, why Intamin AG decided to put Shoulder Restraints on future models, and models after TTD. So, keep your fan boy opinions in your head.

@Oilersfolife Um they still walk up and down the station checking and tightening the restraints for every rider on every train. So just wait till TTD has a problem with their restraints as a lot of Intamin AG lap bar restraints have had problems in the past. As with future models of Intamin coasters El Toro was built after both KK and TTD, El Toro has lap restraints also their newest ride Intimidator 305 will have lap bar restraints as well.

Actually, you're wrong, they don't tighten anything on the 'newer' models. In-fact, they just pull it up, to make sure you've done the seat-belt. It's the same idea with a ride like say, 'The Corkscrew'. Like I said before, they've put over the shoulder restraints on newer models to save time on loading up passengers in the station. Oh, and for the the record, TTD has had ONE issues since its opening, and it wasn't related to the restraints. So what is the issue that you're talking about?

After loading the trains on KK every passenger has their restraint pushed down and seat belt tightened by employees. Another thing that you make obvious is saying "So what is the issue that you're talking about?" if you read what I wrote correctly I said that it is a matter of time before TTD has a problem with its restraints.

No, there actually were many issues with lap bars that were used on many of their rides. Most of them involved operator ignorance like when someone with cerebral palsy got on a ride (the operators should have not let him on), so he was actually skinny enough to slip out of the restraints. Other incidents involve rider stupidity, where the purposely try to wiggle their way out of the restraints. Or they were so fat the lap bars didnt lock. So if you arent incredibly stupid you wont have problems.
