  • "My ex-husband used to say "If you're gonna go down, go down with the best of them!""

    "Which ex-husband?"

"Oh, I don't know which ex-husband! The one with the mustache."

  • She's awesome

  • "Naturally' the word used in every woody allen movie xP

  • Dianne's performance is outstanding - one of the greatest comedic performances to hit the screen. Credit also has to go to Woody Allen and Douglas McGrath's side-splitting script that provided Dianne with the words.

  • Helen Sinclair is in the house!

  • Dianne Wiest = DIVA

  • Dianne Wiest...speaks!

    Harvey Fierstein...interesting voice.

  • ...."PANTS" salesmen

  • I never play frumps or virgins!

    <3

  • Dianne Wiest is so wonderful...why didn´t they give her more roles like this one?????

  • I kept expecting her to say, "I AM BIG! It's the pictures who got small."

  • Love how Wiest nailed the concept of the bombastic 20's moll!! Every scene she did was funny, even where she & David walk in the park!!

  • She was truly brilliant in that role.

  • it was margot channing meets gloria swanson and she was fabulous.

  • damn. why can't I find any Jennifer Tilly scenes? Diane Wiest was just annoying in this. Tilly stole the show.

  • You FUCKING IDIOT.

Why the hell did she win the Oscar for if she was so bad? Get some fucking education.

  • @CharmingSage Is this Dianne Weist herself posting?? That's the only excuse for such over the top emotion.

and, hah, yeah..... I guess people like you have no reason to use your own minds on these things, just look at whatever the Academy tells you was the best performance/film etc. for any given year and you'll be fine. No thinking required. No need to waste your own brain cells.

  • Jennifer Tilly was justly nominated as well! It takes a great actress to play and act as a lousy actress and make it seem real!

  • which ex husband?

oh i dont know which ex husband, the one with the mustache!

  • omg this is hilarious. i love it.

  • it's soo funny bc diane wiest has a very sweet high pitch voice, but her character in this movie is entirely different from her! She deserved that second oscar!!!

  • ...oh yeah, she's deep voiced.

  • This is perhaps the greatest Dianne Wiest role! She escaped that squeaky voiced good girl role for a vain but divine actress who John Cusack falls for.

  • You're talking of the Chinese new year's eve? Naturally, but that's two days. You know how long it is for me!

  • DON'T SPEAK!!!

  • @AngelofMusic04 to this day, i put my hand to people's face and say that! Classic.

  • I laugh everytime :))

  • Best Best Supporting Actress win EVER.

and trust me, I've seen a lot.

  • One of my all time favorite performances.

  • I love Dianne Wiest in this role. She absolutely deserved the Oscar. She also won an Academy Award after performing Holly in Woody Allen's "Hanna and her sisiters" in 1986.

  • @operafan85 Both directed to Woody Allen!

  • FANTASTIC PERFORMANCE.

  • There's a scene in one of her other movies "Parenthood" where her character is screaming with her daughter, played by Martha Plimpton (also one of my favourite female actors) which hints at her ability to take on (to put it mildly) any subject matter. Amoungst other things in the Parenthood scene(and at her full screaming tilt) she mentions certain unmentionable devices. Then later a one liner to Martha's character when they have calmed down...well let's just say Ms Weist is rather versatile(!)

  • I still find it hard to believe Diane Wiest played this roll.

I was always used to seeing her play meek and ditzy. I didn't know she had it in her.

  • I do Electra! I do Lady Macbeth!... I never play frumps or virgins!... Diane Weist and Miranda Richardson... separated at birth. My two favourite female actors. Thanks Otheatre. I love this movie and this is my favourite scene.

  • These single-take scenes in Woody Allen films are always so cool.

  • I know that Bullets over Broadway is not one of the classic movies by Woody Allen BUT along with Mighty Aphrodite and Deconstructing Harry is my favorite Woody Allen movie

  • I never played frumps or virgins!

  • -Sylvia Posten! Even the name reeks of ORBACH'S !!

    lool

  • "I'M SILL A STAR!"

  • - Which ex husband?

    - Oh I don't know which ex husband... the one with moustache

    :D
