So is that republican saying that the rich aren't spoilt & lazy too?! The only difference between the two is that the rich have ALL the money & you don't!
The Republican leaders aren't talking to reasonable people. They're talking to their base, people who are ignorant, angry and gullible. They've probably done polls and focus groups on this. It's George Orwell's doublethink at work.
The Republicans like to make you think taxing the rich reduces jobs. This is a myth.
Income tax taxes INCOME. The rich, or those who really make jobs (leaders of companies) do not pay workers out of their pocket. Workers in companies are paid from the budget of the business itself. If this was a bill raising BUSINESS taxes, this would be a bad idea. But raising taxes on the incomes of the rich does not change how much is paid to their workers.
So, republicans are wrong about taxing as well? So let me see... Yep, that now takes their record to 100% they are indeed wrong about EVERYTHING! Yet typically there will be another ranting jerk of a republican along in just a couple of minutes with NO facts on its side and STUNNING arrogance to tell us all how we have got it all wrong... I am beginning to think that the psychological community should create a new mental illness classification for right wingers/republicans...
If bush and the republicans in Congress wouldn’t have given away the entire surplus in tax cuts for the rich, we would be having fewer problems today.
Even the normal "rich people create jobs" saying doesn't work as they say.
Rich "more productive" people invest and create jobs in order to get more money. If they are given money directly through bail outs or they don't give to the state through taxes, then they already have the money: there is no incentive to create jobs.
Isn't there anyone in government in any country that really understands how economy works?
@karlsantos A person has an idea and goes to a bank. That is how it works. Capitalists do not start off as rich people, they start off with an idea on how to make money, and yes you need money to make money, that is why they go to banks who charge them interest on the money they loan them. Throwing money at rich people does not create ideas or jobs!
But what is being done right now is throwing money at the rich and keeping it away from entrepreneurs.
Also economy works as a continuous flow of money: workers buy stuff, factories get money from selling stuff, workers get payed for working at factories, workers buy stuff again.
But this flow is disrupted when people are not payed enough and/or not enough people are working and buying stuff.
They are completely disconnected from reality, from what other people go through.
These people believe unemployment makes the country competitive because it lowers wages, even if this lowers wages to a level that even people working in "good jobs" (like airplane pilots) have to get food stamps.

You are mistaking capitalist with entrepreneur.
But what is being done right now is throwing money at the rich and keeping it away from entrepreneurs.

It's too far to say they like social Darwinism, sorry. Half of them are likely too stupid to even believe Darwin, so that seems even less true.
