I woke up this morning thinking about wanting to play this when I finally get the time to learn how to play the drums. happy to see you here, thank you!! :)
I had to add something..if you play it beat for beat..spot on..how can I tell you're playing???...I can't tell if that's the album or you??..you should throw in a fill...
@mjw9363 On some cover tunes, (This one.) the drum track has such a big sound and it's so "out front" in the mix that it's hard to compress. I almost have to try to play the song exact in order to not step all over the original drums. It bothers me if for example a crash cymbal sound comes through from the original track and I'm playing the hi-hat in the vid. The E-drums being digital and clean (No overtones, etc.) make it harder to cover the original track also. I'll PM you with more info..
@mmheinzelmann Thanks Michael! This song was popular in the U.S. around 1985 when it was released and I really enjoy the entire "Shakin & Stirred" album. The studio engineering is great and at the time the album had a sound that was different than all the techno-pop stuff that was so popular. The electronic kit has a number of limitations but at least it allows me to practice in silence and not drive everyone crazy! Lol!
Thanks again and I really enjoyed watching/listening to your vids!
@jumpinjojo Thanks! I've always loved this song and it's a lot of fun to play. The big "live" sound of Richie's drums on this album is well engineered and sounds great with the music.

this very cool, how you play the electronic kit, did not listen much to Robert Plant, so far, but I like the tune, thanks!
