My Grandpa died today at 90 and I remember him singing this. He emigrated to Australia over 55 years ago, got back to Scotland once, and now I'm in London by myself away from my family. Thankyou so much for having uploaded this to help me remember my grandpa.
another harry lauder song my parents used to play when i was a child, 1950's, we lived in philly then, having just moved here from glasgow, but my parents are from ireland.
It's really exciting to be hearing all these Sir Harry tunes, it's a little bit more family history I now get to experience. He was my nana's great Uncle, so for a wee lass from New Zealand it's nice to see his music is still being enjoyed :)
My step dad passed away in 2001 at 85. He was a home child from England and he told me that when he was a small boy in the orphanage in England, that he remembers Sir Harry Lauder coming and doing a concert for the boys. Must have been a nice man. Thanks for posting.
