@drwangen That was the tricky part, took some time to get the right motor, switch and batteries, you can try it on Conrad dot com, search for the microparts
@drwangen The best way to explain that is to look on one of my other vid's that i've made about the tube itself, i'll try to make another vid with comment so that you can understand it better.
@Auslander999 1) the propellors are from a tamiya model, scale 1:350, it took them from the yamato.
2) the black part is made from plastick, made that on the lathe to get the shape right.
3)I used a cilinder of styrodure, hollowed it out and stuffed the magnetic switch inside, i use this methode to protect the glass part of the switch against impact.
@iRobii, All the parts together will cost you about 25 Euro, i don't count the amount of time needed to put everything together to make a working torpedo.
Where did you get the motor and metal tube
darrenkdaniel 6 months ago
can you give me a list what i need if i want build a electric torpedo!please!
joetungchunyuen123 7 months ago
@joetungchunyuen123,
1 aluminum cigartube
1 micro e motor 1,2 Volt
2 microbatteries each one 1,2 Volt 150 mA
1 magnetic switch
1 propellor, diameter about 12 mm
The back of the torpedo is made on the lathe, i made this from special plastick, but wood or cork will do the trick also.

How do you build the end? the fins ect?
Really good video, love your work!

hoeveel kost dat om te maken
yanzwan1 10 months ago

How did you create the end with the fins and the motor in it? My son asked about tubes and didn't know about the cigar tubes.
drwangen 1 year ago
@drwangen The end is made on a lathe, the fins are made from copper, they slide into a pre made groove in the end and are secured with glue.
Knikebein 1 year ago
i have a question were do you by the tube and round tip
drwangen 1 year ago
@drwangen The tip is made from using the rounded end of a bigger cigartube, the small ones are flat at the end.

@porsjuh, they are build scale 1;35.

How do you make the whole back end of it
PatchesXP 1 year ago
@PatchesXP, I made that on the lathe from a special kind of plastick.
Knikebein 1 year ago
I found something that is somewhat similar to this but still not as good in anyway. Try searching "mini electronic torpedo" on yahoo.

how did you waterproof the prop assembly? is it possible for you to draw up some plans that people can use to make their own topedoes?
solomonchernishov 1 year ago
@Auslander999 In the past i ordered a bunch of props at the local hobbyshop, you only need the racks with the props.
